That was a good Scotty Kilmer!

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Twig says:

So the service data omits to tell you to open the bleed nipple when pushing in the caliper piston? Eric's right – you can't trust the service data.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Dvorak says:

    🛠 keep being awesome

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michele Mormile says:

This is by far the best video on how to change rear brakes. Thank You for walking me through it all. I didn't know about disengaging the electronic e brake. So glad I watched this video fist. You ROCK

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rodney Allgire says:

Great video and advice. Remember these Escapes get swollen nuts. LOL, i had to replace my lug nuts.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Craven Wisecrow says:

Yeah no ! Prices are high enough
Thank you for this video i went to buy the parts and was going to attempt this on my own but after seeing the turn on the caliber i think it will be best to just take it in . And i did know about the open the cap up under the hood where brake fluid is from the book .

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars spartygrad89 says:

Have a 2017 Escape and something is messed up with the rears in general. Mine look just like those with a streak down the middle and most of the rotor never making contact. Tons of complaints on this from BBB but no recall. I only have 22,000 miles on it also. Thanks for the video, going to do this in the next few days.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Zayne says:

My girlfriend has one of these turds. Anybody able to tell me what the dash rattle/squeak is?? Dead center above/behind the stero/screen
Give it a good ol thump and it’ll go away for a second but sounds like a little bird back there. Don’t really wanna tear the dash down to find a blower motor or actuator squeaking up against something or a piece of plastic rubbing. Hoping for an easy fix.
Doesn’t get better or worse with any provocation

The ol Black Ice tree…aka the Felony Forest. One of the worse smelling air fresheners to be created in my opinion.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars stinman46 says:

So I won't have to worry about maintenance mode on a 2014 Escape? Correct? Also you are the first video where I seen the tabs (or whatever) on the screw in piston have to be lined up a certain way when putting the pads back on?

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Headley says:

You talk too much you are getting over your head .
    You strayed from the point.
It's just a brake job dude
    You are annoying. Really .
I think your educational level is not the greatest.
Smart people dont talk so much .
    Spend some time meditating.
You are only made of dust .
    You gave me a headache

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars steve kenley says:

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dan Mays says:

Replaced rotors and pads on a 2013 Escape and now the passenger rear clicks until i brake. When brakes are released it starts clicking again. What could it be please.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Noman Jones says:

What does putting the brakes in service mode do anyway? watched another guy just crank the piston in, and it worked fine.

    Hello SMA,
I have been turning wrenches since bicycles to aircraft and now I'm retired (haha), and I tell you folks watching SMA doing a brake job on YouTube deserves an award like an Oscar. Eric is the only celebrity I would actually like an autograph from 🙃 and crew too. Keep up the great content
