Come along with Eric O. at SMA as he does a run of the mill power window regulator remove and replace on this 2008 Ford Expedition. Nothing real special and a pretty simple job to boot.

Excellent video! Thanks!
i dunno….you are a miracle worker….it looks like you've never seen the inside of that door before, everything is all hunt and peck touchy feely…you reduce the whole thing to a mess resembling scrambled eggs……and then….all back together again and everything works and nothing broken and no pieces left over…..according to the laws of physics that run the lives of 99% of the earth's population it shouldn't be possible
whatever can go wrong will go wrong except in the hands of very talented natural wizards like Eric O who seem to be able to cast spells over car parts like Harry Potter
Good Walkthrough on replacing the Door Window regulator Eric O and good video as always @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Love your content. Is there anything you can't fix? Much respect!
I LIKE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS ERIC. I LIKE DIAG. THE MOST, BUT IT'S GOOD TO SEE THE OTHER THINGS LIKE BEARINGS & THINGS THAT POP UP ON VEHICLES. LOVE YA BROTHER. 🙂💖
A great video.
Your videos are awesome man
Was it a dorman reg
What kind of screws you use to screw in the power motor lift
Great job on that
Those look like Spain in the hooha great job as always Dr. O! Keep them coming
MY WINDOW DOESN'T GO ALL THE WAY UP
Very easy to fix
Gotta love the nuts and bolts stuff. This is what most DIY'ers do.
That's why they call it a "pocket screw driver". YOU KEEP IT IN YOUR POCKET, SO YOU CAN FIND IT. 🙂
Does anyone have a solution to window "bounce back" on a 2010 Navigator? Nothing seems to work. We have tried everything we know.
The problem began when my mechanic replaced the window assembly. It has us baffled. I would take it to the local Lincoln dealer but I would probably not be allowed to leave without giving them the title.
Why didn't you think it was necessary to let us know what size sockets you were using on this supposedly information on how to replace the regulator? More views more money. Be informative while you do this video.
Great video! Thankyou !!!!
hey Eric i have a 2005 Expedition and the drivers side window will not roll up or down. before it stopped had to help the window up to close wondering if its the motor or the regulator. Watched the video about replacing the regulator but did not answer my question. Thanks Eric McL.
No silicone where the glass sits on the regulator? My 04 has it and I plan on putting some back with the new regulator. My guess is this 08 has it as well. And you didn’t put any mr expert.
Thanks for video. I just replaced my driver side on a 2004 Ford Expedition. Window just fell overnight. Quite easy to do, altho I did run across one missing ingredient using a new Dorman 740-178 regulator…the window clips were not included. Being a novice, I didn't even realize those needed to be removed from my old one…or purchased. It appears your replacement had them already? I stopped vid at initial install and noticed those clips were on. Still…saved me $'s. Pretty easy.
I like nuts and bolts videos
With as much crap as they put inside of a door nowadays, it's worth paying someone $100 to do this. I'd prefer a rollup window anyway.
Love the nuts and bolts
bet you would rather replace timing belt. then dealing with all that.
Excellent references to this job! Thank you. Got mine fixed in 1.5 hours with zero problems!!
I just want to say tankl you that was way more in depth than most videos i have found Keep upp the good work bud.
How bout doing the same thing on a 2010 Expedition XLT On the front drivers side and the windows are tinted.
Heater running, check. Air compressor, check. Air impact, check. Last but not least, fire dept. siren, CHECK! We got the full monty!
Great stuff thanks!
I always take a picture of the project before so I know where everything goes.. just saying.
I am to the point where I am going to convert these damn things to manual crank windows. Both driver side windows are malfunctioning and the rear window that pulls up separate from the whole deck, the hinges broke and now it leaks.I HAVE HAD IT MESSING WITH THE WINDOWS IN MY EXPEDITION!
Watching you in his speed,hahahaha,still won't buy a Chevy or subaru,,,hondooo 4 life!🤣🤣🤣😁😁😁
That's not a 2005 expedition, it's a 2007 and newer expedition…
Did you have to take the clamps that hold the window off the old regulator and put them on the new regulator, or did the new one come with the clamps already?
Was that a dorman replacement?
Eric I watched some other videos on the expedition regulator change out, wish I had seen yours first!
Nice work. If I had needed it to be done you are the kinda guy I would want working on my stuff..👍🍻
I had a blast working on mine, 😏it was a learning curve but got it done.. thanks man..
What I don't understand is why wasn't it just a bad motor? What was the regulator doing that was slowing the window movement? Couldn't you just lube the inner door tracks of the regulator instead of replacing it with a new unit?
Thanks😀
Great video!
Different video. Do a electric window regulator on a 2008 Dodge Avenger. They're not bad.
Diagnostics are alway better!
Great video today!
What brilliant mind designed that cluster you know what? Man! It's a conspiracy to make mechanics lives miserable. You did a bang up job on it nevertheless. Thanks for the video.
Excellent video would not have known where to start, you rock.
Fordtechmakuloco also has a video on doing this same thing. Pretty much the same. He has a couple extra pointers that might come in handy if you are doing this yourself. All he does is Fords so it might be worth a look. Always enjoy Eric O's videos. Easy to watch, good camera stability and excellent verbal explanations.
We need video close up way to far back. Thank you for posting vid of Expeditions. No one seems to post any vids of 2007 Expeditions.
Earning every penny of that one. Wanna be a body man? "the video is 35 minutes and you billed me 1.5hrs" any blood? what ever happened to those giant poprivets?
Merry Christmas and Happy new year O family
love your quote "factory spec" funny I work in an automobile factory and we do in fact use little impact drivers for assembling.
what type of glue is used to keep the window in place?
