How much air pressure for break flush
Once you have done one warp speed is fine to repeat process for second one
Damn. You own brake cleaner stock?
So……rears don't use 90w gear oil anymore?
It's a very popular thing for people to say THAT BEING SAID . A clever way to add extra words to your wordiness.
Link for the vacuum bleeder??
Gotta love Convert-a-ball, I have the stainless steel version.
It’s a shame about the trailer hitch being awkward. Just proves the old adage, “No good deed goes unpunished”!
Keep up the good work!
I’m so glad I was told to check out you videos. Watching your videos has brought the fire and the passion back into working on cars again, I got away from it years ago. My big upcoming job is doing a full air conditioning system on my truck even pulling dash and air box to replace heater and evap core.
Could you explain why you dislike cork gaskets? When you consider how common they are I don't get it.
Great video I need to do mine on a 12 silverado thanks Ray
That's cool you want to take that tow ball and tighten it up but the customer may not want that it may be like that for a reason for that reason I have learned to stop modifying things like that I'll still do it for 50th they ask me but I'm not going to volunteer myself without their consent
Great sound effects ray sounds like a few ppl i know after garlic and chilli priceless ray well done mate i lmfao
That trailer hitch repair….no good deed goes unpunished!,,,
After watching many many of rays videos, i have decided to buy stock in brake cleaner 😂😂
you can use a piece of tube on those bottle tips and then you can turn the bottle any way you want
I would only top up the brake fluid if the pads have been changed, because down the line, the next guy that changes the pads is going to push the pistons back into the calipers so he can get his new pads in and if the fluid has been topped out with the pistons already extended, that fluid will push back up the lines and out the top of the reservoir. Plus, the brake fluid level warning light should come on when the pads are worn, if you top up the level with partly worn pads, the low fluid level warning won’t come on before the pads are down to the backing and they’re wearing the discs out.
It's nice to see a pro use vacuum bleeding successfully. I used vacuum a few times but was irritated by air escaping around threads. As you say, I should just not worry about continuing air bubbles even with silicone paste on the tube nipple. Pressure bleeding would be nice but even with quality kits there are all kinds of different MC reservoir cap sizes, so you end up needing a whole inventory of adapters. For those who don't do it every day, a two-person bleed with brake pedal pressure works OK. The new challenge will be having the scan tool to relax the emergency brake, the game moves on even if we don't want to.
Doo De doo de doo. nippon gakki.
Was it mentioned why it's a good idea to flush/exchange brake fluid?
Hygroscopic, aka absorption of water from the atmosphere which causes issues with calipers sticking and brake fade.
Thanks for the tip on cutting the hold down strap after mounting the lower mount! Seems obvious once a guy sees it!
If that was North Carolina, that poor Grasshopper would have been breaded and fried for lunch. Remember, at North Carolina zoo's, not only do placards have animal descriptions, but recipes. Lol
Getting your butt kicked by a cotter pin HA HA HA TOO FUNNY!
Put you mag ganet in rag and get that metoh out. Then spray Ray hey! If your mattress is missing ,and there's a dime on your dresser.
Its that time of the month for your pink elephant!
Should have put the trailer hitch
in the vice, Would have been a lot easier to work on instead of it moving all over the place. Just one guy's opinion…
He's doing the voice over while taking a shower.
Not a spec of rust on that rear. All bolts came out nice. No foul language. Not here in Jersey. Everything rusty and lots of foul language.
don't you reuse that cotter pin on the trailer hitch now…..
Man I bet that was one heck of a bill but you know that's what happens when things don't get fixed when due.
Peeps Don’t leave your trailer tongue & ball in…your and others shins will thank you.
I love Ave he is hilarious 😂
What is it that you use as a spray to clean all of your components with?
Hey Ray should have checked to make sure that plug comes out before pulling the cover off to make sure you can break it loose and fill it up cl
Lmao nice to know I'm not the only mechanic who uses injector setting tools for pin punches hahaha.
i enjoy the pressure bleeder over the vac for brakes.
You record the intro dialog in the shower?😁
I love watching this guy work.
Did you know that when replacing shocks /struts your meant to prime them by manually compressing about 3 times. This removes any air trapped during transport/ manufacture.
I do the back furtherest wheel cylinder because it uses the most fluid. then the other rear. when the rear are on a single rear brake line takes less fluid for the 2nd one… then on to the front… probably just habbit. when all 4 wheel cylinders are plumbed directly to the ABS valve block then I do as you do.. front or back makes no diff.
Just so you know it's ugga dugga's not ducka ducks.
Hold up…why does that ring gear look like it still has marking compound on the teeth?
I don't know how others feel about it but I don't care if they are sponsors or not
If you change the crappy GM rear end to Eaton or similar style Posi traction differential. It will increase the Mpg and make for better handling overall
3M rubber eraser wheel with a drill attachment for cleaning gasket surfaces. Much faster easier and safer process
if gm made a 16 bolt rear, it,d be as good,,,,nearly,,,as a 9"…
You pointed to the differential carrier and called it the differential housing. The housing is the what the carrier is bolted into, no doubt you know that.
its amazing how different Ray's video style has gotten, definitely appreciate his growth as a content creator
No good deed goes unpunished.
I’m curious about the procedure of using an air hammer and chisel to tighten up the shaft on a cooling fan after removal and replacement. All the videos I’ve watched involving this procedure show the hex shaft in plan sight and accessible for the use of the proper size wrench, seems a little crude to me. I really do admire the expertise of all automobile mechanics, especially under tough conditions.
"Pro Bono" shoulda be a "NO NO"
