Eric O. Continues to work on his "new to him" 2004 Honda Civic. In this video we add a key fob because the car did not come with any but according to the VIN it is equipped. Let's see if we can do this and get them to relearn.

Thanks so much I didn't get instructions. Bought car used for son and wanted a fob.
Pretty simple program procedure toyotas are a pain if the door lock actuators don't work they won't program for most toyota's Good video Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
My key fob did not work but with this video I now know how to enter into program mode thank you sir
The driver side door will not lock with the key in the ignition
I need close the door step
Does this work even if I no longer have the original stereo?
appreciate the help bud!
Where did you buy the replacement fob?
Just got mine for 15 hahaha
Only thing us it doesnt disengage the imobiliser so car still wont start
Just got a new key andnyour method worked a treat! The key factier is remiving the key at the end and then it works! whoohoo! Thanks bro!🤟
how did you look up the Vin for keyless entry
Ty so much! It worked! Mine just came with no directions
Thank you!!!!! I didn't even know i had keyless entry untill i was cleaning my car and read the manual today 😭 im ordering these amazon remotes right now!!!! THANK YOU 😍
After doing this many times it finally worked. How? I found out I had to have the drivers door opened not just unlocked! Crazy
May I suggest investigating the hose that is connected to the radiator which hose provides cooling for the transmission? Mine failed, and cost me a transmission. I was SUPER lucky in finally finding a low-miles, well-maintained trans. Replace the hose straight away, please.
On my 1996 Honda Accord, there are nylon components built-in to the door latch assembly, (the assy is bolted to the rear of the door) which nylon components fail over time. Suggest obtaining a new door latch assy for your Honda, because I have found this particular part to be unobtainable for my older car. Hopefully, you will have better luck obtaining the door latch assy for your newer Honda. RIBob
I did the same thing on my Subaru with a "salvage-yard" key fob obtained from a same-year Subaru. They threw it in since I was buying some other stuff. Made a point of opening up the key fob, prior to "purchase", to ensure the battery had not corroded the guts. Installed identical fob on the kid's car, and boy, was she happy! RIBob
Thank you, I have programmed both my key fobs. You were the only video to get it right.
Fuck those thumbs down he help me out slappy as fuck
I just did it for my 2003 Honda Civic and it worked!!!!
I had a similar issue. Car was sold remoteless. The auction house probably stole the remote to sell online. See a lot of them when I shopped for them on eBay. Got an old used OEM from a private seller with the keyhook still intact. Thinking the auction houses just rip them off the chain quick. Hey it's used but it's OEM.
Is it still working a year later?
I have an 04 civic. red coupe as well. lol Must be super common because my driver side door lock actuator was toast.. AND someone changed the door lock too, same as yours. Hilarious!
Thanks for the video.
Okay now rice burner value is doubled!
What happened with this car? scrapped it or moved it outside and haven't touched it?
no more Honda videos? 🙁
Eric, would you know the best way to relearn TPMS on a 2010 Accord. I'm fairly sure it needs an OBDII relearn, but a second opinion would be nice.
what yr os the civic,if its a 07 + there's a recall on the driver side acuater
When is the next Honda video?
That radio install looks terrible. Any chance you could find an OEM one at the junkyard to restore the 'mint' look of the interior.
I wish they could all be that easy. With some you have to buy the key fob and have the dealer program it which is an hour's labour on top so this can turn out to be expensive. My partner's oldest daughter lost the key for her 2007 Beetle. Fortunately, she had a spare otherwise she'd have to spend £££ at the local VW dealer.
Watching some of the videos, I find myself leaning so much about how to fix lots of different cars and Trucks, but only have two cars and trucks………..Oh well. Hey really like what I see you doing, wholesome family, great mech. Makes me want to hold the mech that will work on my veh's, to a higher standard. Thanks for the time you invest in the videos…………
great videos dude. 2 questions since your an awesome car Mech. question 1. the hood on a 1995 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer 5.8L V8 SUV wont open when the hood opener is pulled how can this be fixed & how can the hood be opened since the hood opener is not working…question 2..the check engine light is on how ever no codes are being given what could be the cause of this & the fix… looking for an at home fix for this
Eric, do you know how to read a 94 OBD1 car, that has an OBD2 port?
Secret handshake keyfob programming. Love those. The Toyota / Scion procedure is more involved. You have door openings and closings and whatnot. haha.
Eric bring back BIG NASTY!!!!!!
WHAT NO RUST! wtf
Oh you and your new mad love affair with Amazon!
I can't say anything though… That's where I got my toast scented air freshener.
Eric – the same thing happened to the door panel fabric on a friend's Accord. Spray adhesive was a quick and effective repair.
not sure how patreon works (in general) but here in Europe (Ireland) there is a 23% tax added to the the donation amount because it's for a service, if there is different settings i.e. gift or to show that your not buying goods or services i think that would work better, just a thought as it will put people off, as it has me.
I ordered one for a 2004 civic. Couldn't get it to work at all. I assumed it was because the back drivers side door actuator doesn't work. I was surprised Eric got it to work on just the passenger door. How much is a new actuator and is it difficult to replace?
Email ETCG if you have problems. He's a big Honda guy.
there is a fabric glue I got at orielly for the side door vinyl. I applied it and using a thin screw driver pushed it in and it is still holding . I believe I did that about four years ago.
Oh yeah, purchased many an Amazon replacement key fob! Thanks Eric!
REF: FABRIC SHOP….please could you take the camera along with you If you go to the fabric shop …That would make a great video ,,,Thanks mate…one more thing,,,
BUY VANESSA SOME FLOWERS AND CHOCOLATES…She has earned it
Bought a cheap remote for my Impala…the buttons feels like a sponge. Bought an original one, was only $19.95 anywhoo.
You're not gonna code your own key!! lol all those gm replacments make you change over all the tumblers n such, at leasst i think it was GM lol idk
was the whole door replaced at some point …. it might explain the different key plus maybe no power door lock ?
