In a previous video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhe6nKMzrCk I had a look at a Honda Odyssey cluster that was on the fritz. The problme is solved now once and for all thanks to the fine work from United Radio in Syracuse NY. -Enjoy!

Enjoy your videos very much Master Eric. Was laid off Mar. 23,2020 Permanently. Worked out great because I was going to retire in November.

Getting a lot of screen time because of Corona and have been watching all your stuff. You are a life saver !

Had the same problem with my 2004 Ford Focus which would also turn on the chime and map lights. Never had this with the dozen Foci's that we had as service vehicles (2000-2002) I found no cracked solder connections. Rubbed the back side of the instrument cluster down with a dry paint brush and sprayed it down the a nice clear coat of Rustoleum (NOT A SPONSER). Ford changed the cluster in 2003-2005 THE PROBLEM NEVER CAME BACK. SUSPECTED HUMIDITY. MY SON GOT $250 FOR IT A FEW MONTHS AGO (6/2021)

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A S says:

Curious if you tried using your autel to transfer the data over. Your previous video showed the option to transfer data from one cluster to the other.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars OliverTheCarGuy4433 says:

What did you do to the old cluster?

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anglegrinder46 says:

Look at all the work this guy does fuck I would open a garage if I had $

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bill Pawelczyk says:

Cut thank you remember United Radio in the event of a cluster problem

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hawk 1966 says:

My folks bought an '84 Ford Tempo, total piece of crap even brand new. Had it a few months and when it was cold it would accelerate, wildly. If you slapped it up into neutral the engine would strive for outer space. You had to kill the ignition and then it would behave like a cheap underpowered econobox. Took it to the dealer they said we were crazy, they couldn't find a thing wrong. Got the car back. It tried to kill my mother. Back to the dealer. We're still crazy 'cause they can't find an issue. Car tries to kill my father. It goes back to the dealer. They're going to keep it overnight and make sure it's parked outside so it gets nice and cold. Car tries to kill the service manager. They had it a week before they found whatever it was that was causing it to go berserk. Only thing that car was good for was clam baking. Super small and great door seals. 😅😂🤣

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PastBlast says:

Wow! Watching you install that cluster made me think of Engineer Scotty dropping in a new electronics module on the Starship Enterprise. I wish you could have added some cool futuristic sound effects when you plugged it in.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Foncannon says:

    That was awesome buddy…

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gregory Kellerman says:

So, it was a Cluster F***?

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars OnTheRocks says:

Need to collaborate with The Signal Path. That guy would tear down that old cluster, find a block diagram of the microprocessor that runs it, probe every bit of it and then replace a 50 cent capacitor or voltage regulating doohicky and make it good as new.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ave The Barber says:

You said you've been doing them all week that's weird being that you said that they rarely go out. My thoughts are EMP set off in that town.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nismo Armada says:

Omg !! That’s cool. Just plug in and play

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Pete Gaytan III says:

I can't remember the last time I had a toilet paper discussion with my local NAPA parts guy!

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dennis Cook says:

Why do I love your videos? I haven't worked on a vehicle since my 77 F-250. Today it's all electronic bs anymore. Ask me, it's all junk. In 08 had a Ford dealership ask me if I wanted a new one. I told him I would not give him 50 bucks for anything on his lot.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lade's Eddy says:

    I am a 315'er.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Carroll says:

Thx for the follow up 👍, I thought the mileage was stored in the computer not in the instrument cluster,is that just Honda or all makes?

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jblyon2 says:

I remember replacing my 90s Corolla cluster with one that had a tach. Set the mileage with a straightened paper clip popping the numbers into place. Super easy to get the correct mileage…or forge a mileage. My first thought was 'of course they only let you set the mileage on a new one to force you to buy one', but then it occurred to me, that if the scan tool could set the mileage on a used cluster it would be way too easy to falsify mileage with a somewhat common tool.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars iC3 insights says:

Great video quality. Keep up the good work…

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bushougoma says:

The replacement cluster will easily outlast the transmission :-P. What's the life expectancy of an Odyssey transmission 30-40K?

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Gantry says:

Yeah. The C-word. I know a C-word which describes the lying C-words. There's no killer virus coming for us. What's coming is much more sinister and evil.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Gantry says:

Do you say "Dater" and "Naper" that way intentionally? Or is that just the way y'all talk up your way?
