Wow they told us to tighten the bolt line side now I know why
I would guess that white residue on the inside of the door is from paint preparation (like wet sanding paste). Seen that a lot working around the bodyshop after the panel is prepped. A good indication the panel has been prepped for paint.

Yeah that was easy it took longer to pull the panel than to tighten the handle
Normally the kiss of death when the customer says "yeah, this won't take (you) long, it should be simple"

Since the bolt came loose would it be a good idea to apply some loctite as part of the repair so it doesn't come loose again?

Boy, Honda's QC ain't what she used to be …
20 years ago, heads would've rolled for something like this at the factory. Today it's just par for the course – all manufacturers let stuff out the door like this … and the stuff costs more than ever. Sad.

If the bolt came out once, what make you think it won't come out again ? A dab of Loctite blue would be good !
FYI: Ford door panels usually have plastic hooks on the back that slip into/out of slots after you remove the screws.
I'd hit that handle bolt with blue Loctite for sure. Honda quality for sure.
I would've put a shake proof washer on the bolt personally, with the way the roads are nowadays

Business to run and all aside, I wouldn't have charged her. I would've used it as a lesson to "don't be afraid to try something for yourself". I would've told her lets take a look. Have her use the tools and lend a hand if/when she gets lost.
you could/should of put a bit of thread lock on the bolt to stop it from coming loose again in the future 🙂

(see SMA A Normal Day at the Shop) I have a ball cap from Jeep Fleet Services way back when the Jeep Cherokees AHB Police Package were being made back then that I just found cleaning out the basement. I could sent Mrs. O some SWAG and you would have to look at the ballcap for a little while. Just promoting some marital harmony here……..

ahh man, break clean the white crud then loctite the bolt :D. Wonder why it came loose, not spec from factory or crappy thread fitting.
