Great Video – followed along and just replaced my driver side (Left) bracket. Hardest part was actually getting the taillight off (getting the plastic pin to come out). The two plastic rollers were fine, but the entire shaft that holds them to the bracket was wobbly.
While the door now slides nicely again, this did NOT fix my problem. Pressing the button to open or close the door does NOT work (nor the automatic function with internal or external handle pulls. And no door latch "lock down" sounds either. I swapped the fuses under the hood in the box behind the main fuse box just in case one was bad, but right door still works fine, so not the fuse. Hoping it is NOT the motor assembly, but it might be. Does that motor assembly also control the electronics for the door latch actuation? Off to google search for that issue now..
Now we know two different ways to do this… not sure this way saved any time, looks like pulling the whole bracket is the way to go.
I want to thank you slouch I did both sides in about an hour and a half because of your cheat I used a half inch extension because it was the first thing I could find with the reach you were the only one that simplified this job on my 07

I fixed one five minutes with a 5 dollar part I clipped the cables. Works fine now for an old van. I charged the guy a million dollars.

While my door was jacked up and supported, it literally fell out onto the ground. The other two rollers came out of their tracks. It was one heck of a mess. I had to have four people help me get everything put back together. I have no idea why this happened. And, no matter how hard we pulled on the cable, we could not get it to stretch enough to get it back into the roller assembly. So now I have a manual door. Which is probably better anyhow.
This is a much easier way to do. No adjustments needed. Did this process on my second door. Thanks

So SMA, how is it up your way, with title and registration going….here on long Island it is taking at a minimum of 3 WEEKS to get your title back….meaning when you drop your insurance from your existing car,(which you have to do in NY) and insure you new used car…you have no car to drive…….just curious…

I did both of mine they were both metal-to-metal it was causing my door to have problems closing it keep opening and trickling at the open but I wasn't as lucky as you I had to take the tension off of it I struggle and struggle and couldn't do it without taking the tension off the cable I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey and right now I got 321000 MI it's been a year since I did it the last one and still going strong

Hey Eric. If you need to remove/install a non-magnetic screw,`etc., just stick a small piece of LePage's Fun Tak Adhesive Putty on the end of the screwdriver tip, remove the screw and the putty will hold it on the tip for you. Get it at Staples runs about $3 for more then you will ever need.
This seems to be one of Honda’s most pi$$ poor designs ever. The under designed four speed
automatic transaxle in our 2000 Navi is worse.
The roller appears to be a piece of steel without any bearings whatsoever. Would it be possible to replace the roller with a roller bearing? Getting the correct shaft inner diameter and correct outside diameter might be difficult .
I believe the replacement will eventually fail. Just like the three replacement transmissions that went into my Wife’s Odyssey.
This was our fourth and last Honda. I will never, ever, own anything made by Honda again.

I watched another video about this hinge and the guy that took the door off seemed easy I think it was three bolts. It drops down though so he put it on some kind of bench. Although I did not watch the end where he put the door back on by himself
Thanks. I found it easier to remove the cables by bending the tabs that hold it. Just a reminder do not bend the new ones. Haha
Use a 1/4 long Extension but use it upside down with a ratchet plugs into it and put it on top of the pin and smash down you won’t slide off it
Thanks to you Mr O. Yesterday I replaced the EGR valve on a 2010 Dodge journey with a V6. I have a hand held engine diagnostics device that I used to troubleshoot. I can't control stuff with it but other than that it does a lot of other fancy stuff.

A lot of times the major repair on these doors is minor. Before doing anything check the rubber bumper on the back of the top rail. If it is gone the doors will fail to shut right and not close properly. A $21.00 dealer part can save you hundreds in hinges, motors, etc.
You keep that up Eric you're not gonna get "payment" for a while!
