In this video I have a look at a 2016 Honda Pilot that came in with the air bag light on (Code B0001 and B0002) I also noticed that the information buttons on the steering wheel do not work. Let's have a look. -Enjoy!

I was wondering why you put steering wheel on without covers. You made me laugh

I bet the dealership probably messed up the Cable Reel (clock spring) when doing the Air bag recall. Explains the marks on the plastic steering column cover.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Bob says:

Don't mean to be rude…but you shouldn't be doing airbag work after watching this video.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Bob says:

Never turn the steering wheel after removing the nut. Keep wheels straight. There is always a spline to line the steering wheel back up. If you rotate the wheel n forget to straighten it out…you could destroy the new clock spring. No reason to replace clockspring unless airbag was blown and it melted the connectors…

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Bob says:

I can tell you don't do airbag work. I've of had it done already . Use a impact to remove steering wheel nut. Works great it's all I use. Just a friendly tip bud

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Bob says:

Also disconnect battery and wait 20.min before even touching airbags ….they will not explode. Just a precaution. Airbags don't just explode unless a sensor has been triggered by a collision that's the only way. Been doin this 20 plus years I've never had a airbag blow on me

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Bob says:

Hondas have torx bits . Every other vehicle uses small holes and you have to press the rods that release the bag. I made my own tool for this. An antenna cut and ground flat works great…just a friendly tip

Sir, the yellow lock of the clock spring, I think you must remove it when you put the steering wheel, not before. As usual amazing from France

OMG! these are the exact 2 codes that pops up on my OBD2. My horn and steering wheel buttons works perfectly well, However the backlights are intermittent, it will only light up when you steer the steering wheel 180 degree and my SRS light is on. THANKS A MILLION! 🙂

I had to tow a mid 70s Cadillac someone left in a parking lot. It was nose in and I hated towing on the front wheels, especially older cars with no locking column. I get it started, pop it into reverse and roar backwards to discover WHY I'd been sent to tow it. . . the fricking steering wheel came off in my hands as me and 5,000 lbs of steel hurtled backwards. Nearly filled my pants. Got a pair of vice grips on the nut, safeishly turned the Caddy around and off we went.
