Years ago mechanics kept a supply of golf tees handy for plugging lines
My old fam car was an 88 Volvo 740T and I had such fond memories in it. That being said, literally no other tech besides the one euro shop in town would touch it.
Had a lizard like that suddenly pop out the air-vent on my dash, while doing 160 km/h down the autobahn. Wtf moment. Whenever i slowed down under 100 it would go back down the vent, and come back when i was speeding up. And just sat there watching the road.
i sell at least 4 of those mounts a week. evap leak is probably a LDP or bad fuel cap. Those are also common.
"That's not a nut, it's a part of this mount."
I broke the knuckle off a breaker bar trying to remove a [blind] bumper bolt making that very same mistake.
A rubber bungee cord would work instead
Anyone else enjoyed rob zombies living dead girl
u know how to fix that P.O.S.?take it to the dump n go buy a Chevy
look..its a Volva.
I hope that the guy fixes all the other things with this S80
YOU GO RAY RAY…GOOD JOB…MICRO SWITCH ON TRUNK/TAIL GATES…GOOD FIND…I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED VOLVOS…FROM THE OLD DAYS OF 144…60'S STUFF…CRAZY GOOD LONG RUNNERS…BUT LIKE ANY VEHICLE TODAY…MUST BE MAINTAINED…BUMPER COVERS= TRY A HEAT GUN ON PLASTIC COVERS ….
The interior of that car is rather stylish
Sweet speed tape.
Need more speed tape.
Get some golf tees. They plug up small hoses really well.
I've got a 2007 V70 2.4D Automatic and not gonna lie this S80 here is an ugly turd in comparison. Might be because my car was the top of the line back when it was sold. Somebody maxed out all options when they bought it: Xenon Headlights, fancy Radio, full Leather Interior, black metallic paint, painted trim all around, painted aluminum rims etc…
The D5 engine with an Automatic is probably Volvos best drivetrain in terms of comfort and economy. Its a diesel but a quiet and well behaved one.
A shame how such a beautiful car has such a neglectful owner.
It's going to be back again soon for the fluid filled engine mount right below that stabiliser mount. They only have like a 10 year life expectancy.
Bet the guy spend hours trying to figure out how Ray opened the trunk.😫
And gave up.😁
I bought an auction car. I brought to a shop I knew nothing about. I wanted an alignment but I knew it needed front end work. After they had taken the front wheels off, the manager brought me back while it was on the lift. He had a list of items. He gave them to me and showed me why the items needed to be fixed. After the alignment, I went home and ordered all of the front end parts on EBay. I did the work, without having to do any diagnostics. Struts, axles, motor mount, control arms, tie rods and swaybar links. Rides really tight!
I would wager it's all caused by the engine mount being left too long and smacking everything around. Buggers up the exhaust system as well as some of the sensors. Typically Renault/Volvo (used to be technology partners)
Nothing like rob zombie in the shop 😁🤘
It scares me the state in which some cars are legally allowed to drive around in the USA. Thank the Gods for MOT.
Given the number of declined repairs I can only assume people think you do it for free
It is sad how far volvo fell. The 240/740 was their height. Everything since then had been a slow decline.
When you have to diagnose multiple sub systems do the service writers ever include that into the diagnostic fee?
I always used golf tees to plug lines
Wasn't it a volvo that got you fired from one of your first jobs ?
There is no wrong tool if i works 😀
Doing belts or chains on one of these transverse 6-pots must be painful.
Have you tried using a golf T to stop a leaky disconnected line ?
I have a sneaking suspicion that the fuel pressure and evap codes are due to a bad fuel pump. Most likely needs a new fuel filter too.
Common problem bet that mount has been changed a few times
I own a S60 AWD and hate it. My wife talked me into it and I could not say no. This thing is a lame fat gas guzzling pig. I should have bought an Audi A5 which is much more fun to drive and ridiculously easy on gas.
Thank's for making content i can sleep too. Really enjoy it. 🙂
Those engine mounts are stupidly easy to replace, I bought an volvo aftermarket polyurethane mount and would never break like the oem does.
DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are soooooo good at removing brittle old plastic connectors without breaking them. I've learned a lot from you and now break somewhat fewer older connectors! Thank you!
No application of anti-sieze compound to the bolts? Difference between on the clock mechanic which probably never takes the time to apply on any job and DIY one that realizes its future benefits.
May wanna check ALL mounts.
Which trouble code started the fight???
WOW very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
it's all good !
Volvo 3.2 it The best engine. IT very realible engine. Maintenace it worst. In Nederland. Holland 3.2 was 1 model 780 000 km.
I had an S80 T6 with 334kW / 448hp.
Sleeper car that could race motorbikes.
Also had the boot switch broken.
Hey Rey…the cap displeases me as well. I have the same tank in my 2014 Mondeo. I found it easier to remove and replace once the engine is warmed up. They seem to get tight with age. I did eventually replace the cap with a new one and it was easy to remove cold or hot.
Those engine light codes have been brewing for some time. Where I live in the UK, if the engine warning light is on then the car will fail its annual MOT test and that means your car is off the road until it's fixed (the same with things like ABS warning lights, airbag lights and so on).
I any event, it would seem the owner's maintenance policy with that car is to do the minimum to keep it running and I suspect it will go to an early grave.
That Volvo looked like a cheap PoS. I thought they were made better than that.
I almost bought one of those
Like the shop radio.
