In this video I bring you along as I have a look at a customers 2010 low mileage Hyundai Accent that has a customer complaint of no intermittent wipers. Well this one was easy to diagnose and just as easy to repair.

2010 Hyundai it's the accent. It's got a big one six and there's something going funky with this lady's wipers. So I ordered us one of these from nap because I'm pretty sure I know what's going on. So let's turn the key on here.
close the door. so our dinner quit speaking. It's got the roly-polies so we have an eye we have low. We've got a squirter.
but when we go to intermittent, let's see where this is. Yeah, they just kind of stop up on the window. However, if we vary lightly, fiddle with the switch here and we hold it just right. The intermittents will work intermittently, as they should have.
See there they go again and if I just hold the switch very gingerly, they will continue to work. but if I let go of the switch, they don't So I'm assuming the problem is in the switch. Being that all we got to do is just give it a little wiggle and then they work the missed feature. you kind of gotta if you hold it just right.
you can get it though. So that's my diagnosis. That's the best we're doing on this one folks. So diagnosing isn't always.
uh, super fancy I require high-tech tools a lot of times it's just some common sense which is all we used in this case. There's one screw I think it looked in service date it said we had three. The other ones are appears on here and we'll turn the steering wheel the other way and we'll get the other one. oh I was gonna put that on the floor anyways.
Honey Today's my lucky day. Turn this this way. turn that this way and we'll get this little guy right here. and then that should release the lower cover and hopefully the upper cover.
The book time was pretty low on this so it should be easy. A little filler. There we go. Perfect.
Let's see if we can very gingerly get this to kind of Pop Apart here. Come in here with a prying apparatus. Let me come on this side very gingerly. Come on baby, it's over here.
Take this little trim that goes around the keyhole. Wow. come on man. feeling a couple Wiggles and these things will pop apart.
screwdriver. Let's edge here. There She Goes That's all we needed. It's like a mystery maze.
There we go. So this is what time the driver's side retainer there retainer there little guide pins. this is over on the keyhole side one there one there. No casualties.
We need to straighten out this wheel again and then we should be able to pop the top half off I would think and there is top half so that's what that looks like. Not a big deal. Now we gotta come over on this side. No, we don't.
We're working over on this side. Okay, we got. You know what we ought to do? We ought to make sure the one Napa got us something. We haven't even looked at it yet looks like as a Gambling Man There's a little release tab right here.
Yes sir, that baby pops right out. Let's unplug it. The release tab I pushes right there right smack in the middle. Let's see if an episode's the right one.
You guys are sitting on the box, so set you back around the Box before we even open it. Let's just kind of compare. Looks good. I Think there was only two options with or without rear wiper. if I remember correctly when I was ordering it, this one clearly has the rear wiper, some intermittent and everything else looks okey dokey. It's probably oh I was gonna say it's probably a Hyundai part and it is so standard. Motor Products Who sells Napa Ecklund You'll oftentimes see stuff like this. Uh, that's just OEM in the Napa box and then we just line her back up on here.
click and we'll turn the key on. We've got high. We've got a squirter. we've got low.
Gotta find the door dinger. You got the deal. Oh there we go. Hold my finger on it.
That's intermittent. That works. We got rear. How's the rear squirter work? Oh like that.
Oh, we got a rare squirter. We've got internet. We have everything we need. Nothing that we don't and that's it folks.
Easy Peasy One today. Released this morning. it's still early. This is just our first job of the day.
First job of the day Easy Peasy. and then we'll go through this little maze and get this thing out. I Took you out. There's that that's like clicked together very nicely.
If I should stick this thing on, who would have thunk that this? There we go. It was in the back. it wasn't lining up 100 percent. We got her this time.
Boys, get our screw back in here because of right here. and get the other side here for us. And last but not least, find this organ under here and that's it. This thing works.
The wipers work. everybody's happy there. You have it folks. Windshield wiper switch and your Hyundai Accent A pretty easy job I Think it only pays four tenths of an hour? We took, uh, about that much.
Not quite. but it was an easy job. Not a real exciting video and not a real in-depth fancy diagnosis. But perhaps it'll help somebody who has a Hyundai Accent and a window of where the wipers aren't working if they should or they think they need a switch.
The column cover was the hardest part of the whole job, but we got it off and back together without breaking any plastic. so that's good. So don't you guys break my heart by not going in that comment section questions, comments, concerns The Entity the Facebook You guys know where to find this by now right down there and just from our viewers. If I can do it, you can do it.
Thanks for watching foreign.
Thank you eric

How much did you get that windshield wiper part for ? I need to fix my moms new car that she got ripped off on ! (Hyundai venue) ? The dealership will not cover anything and they want to over charge her
Who would have thought that working on a Hyundai with this issue would be so easy sometimes you amaze me there Mr O .
DON'T YOU WISH EVERY JOB WAS THIS EASY ?? .
Great job, I like it when they go easy.
Interesting NAPA supplies lemons parts, nice job
Siiiickkkk!!!!
Cool that some of these Napa parts are OEM Hyundai. Good to know. Any chance their CVT fluid is also? Paid a fortune for Hyundai. Yeah, I know they say the CVT fluid is lifetime. You shouda seen what I drained out of that on my 2015 Santa Fe Sport 2.0t – not all that far from a half-melted Wendy's Frosty…aside from the color
Though I'd better leave a comment i didn't want to break your heart๐
We have a 11-year-old 2013 Accent (purchased new $17K) and it's been a great car. Besides normal maintenance we've only had to replace the alternator.
All your wipers and window regulators come in when it's raining, your A/C jobs when it starts getting hot, and your heater cores when it's cold. Nobody ever fixes their car until they have to.
Yeah sure, you fixed the intermittent intermittent wipers, but now her turn signals are intermittent.
The owner of that car must have gotten up real early to run down to the dealer to make sure he got the car without power windows.
Over 20 years ago, I had to replace the fuel pump on my 91 Nissan Sentra. The best price for the pump was actually at the dealership but it was going to take 2 weeks to get it. I found it at NAPA for about $2 more with next day delivery. When I pulled the old pump out and compared it to the new one, the brand name and model number were the same. I told the service manager at the dealership about it and his response was that he wished he had known about that because they lost a fuel pump replacement job because they couldn't get the new pump soon enough. He said he was going to make a note for the parts department to check with NAPA when they had long wait times for parts in the future. I also got an ignition coil for that car from NAPA that had the Nissan logo on it and several relays for various cars that had factory logos under the NAPA stickers.
"Not a real exciting video." I disagree. They're all exciting!
no plastic broken vantastic
Im a GM guy. Always have been. Ive owned 150 plus cars from my flipping car days.
But I will say Hyundai makes a fantastic product. We bought my wife's 02 Sonata from a kia dealer in 2019 with 77k original miles. Its at 120k now and has given us absolutely no issues. Had to put a new AC compressor but thats the only "major" thing, and that was in 2020. So an 18 year old compressor is bound to fail.
And now i have a car ive wanted since i was a teenager in the need for speed underground days. Mines an 06 Tiburon SE in Orange Crush. The SE was only available with a 6 speed manual and orange crush was an SE only color. It has 126k miles on it and it runs and drives flawless. I had to replace the ac compressor as well, my clutch wouldnt kick on. System had no leaks. Got a new compressor from oreilly, had it professionally evac and charged, new compresor leaked from the front seal immediately and wouldn't hold freon after two days. So warranty swapped it and paid for the evac and charge again, 150$ each time, and she's had ice cold ac for over a month with no leaks.
Moral is, Hyundai makes a fantastic vehicle. People can talk bad about the engine recall all they want…every manufacturer has big issues with their vehicles.
And, we live in ohio, rust belt, and my wifes car has been in Ohio all its life…and theres barely surface rust underneath. Mine has no rust either.
Hi, Mr. O., I think it was an interesting video. I always found that console disassembly was a lot easier than assembly after the fix. So it is nice to see how you do it. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!
Thanks Eric, yes a nice easy repair for you to start your day, I hope the day continued easy but I doubt it I am sure something came along to test your knowledge and abilities as it usually does mate.
Keep Safe Keep Strong ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐
Easy peasy jobs are always nice and Represhing from the Larger jobs
Two years ago i did the front bearings on my โ02 s10 along with much of the front suspension. This week i took it off roading and river fording, and it did well, but on the way home, it developed a pretty loud hum. I think its one of the bearings – front right wheel was hot. So, i gotta go back in. Thanks to mr O i used lots of anti seize and grease when i put it together, and I know to use the timken bearings this time also. Probably will help the longevity if i dont forget the dust cover again and crush the o ring and pop the sealed bearing apart like i did last time haha.
Easy enough you made quick work on that job ๐๐๐
You need to have a easy one every once in a while to get a break
Fantastic that was a real doozy
I'll use they video to fix my Kia Sorento!
Ummโฆ. Call up your local Kia Boys, theyโre experts in breaking down Kia & Hyundai Steering columns and ignitions with a USB power cord.
Easy peasy he says…
Thanks for sharing!! ๐
If this was a 2011 instead of a 2010, you'd be doing a broken rear passenger window and the steering column covers would have been pre-broken for you! ๐คฃ
Just like new again great work so proofessional๐
Thank you for the vacation from the Silverado rust.
๐๐๐บ๐ธ
Another Great Job Eric.
Nothing like showing the real world. Not all jobs are rebuild, Brake or evap jobs. Key words are " Did not break any plastic "
Eric, Nice to get an eazy peazy one every now and then!
My kids PT had classic fog lights turning themselves on/draining battery from failed turn signal switch. Born to fail on old ones… But these days super cheap part, 2 minutes, 2 screws…
Omg you Brock my heart no test light or anything
How many vehicles do you fix in a day?
Thanks for the video Eric.
Nice job on the replacement of just a switch…vs an older systems where you have to change the whole combination switch… Nice way to start the day, with this repair.
Diagnostic are diagnostic… whatever of time and difficulty.
I don't know about Korea or wherever that car is made but they're is no"gingerly" used to put that stuff together in the big North America usually is a line it up and smack it together.
Great diagnosis common sense is the only sense!
Need to do just a day at the shop video like you've done before I think us viewers love those.
Thanks for another great video.
Prettiest damn steering wheel cover on you tube
You need to get the camera closer
Big 1.6?
Nice to start the day with a win. I just ordered a SMA t-shirt. They have a on-line store folks.
You should think about during another day in shop video. Just a thought keep up the good work Mr. O
Hyundai lot recalls on cars
Thay had recall on Hyundai wipers
Just mounted dry? No little dribble oil/grease?
You got the name wrong. That's a Hyundai Accident.
Man your lucky must be a north thing with the OEM parts in the (Good) Napa (Never Any Parts Avalible) boxs down here in the Florida its the Bear or worse
I like the pretty pink flowers on the steering wheel cover.
Eric easy common issues with cars is exactly the videos people are looking for. Lucky for us in the south you have issues with cars far sooner because of the rust than we do. So you can beat the average mechanic with video repairs that they haven't seen yet. Plus you work on most vehicles that average Joes' drive. One thing that I think you got wrong was on the last video I watched your smoking hot wife Vanessa came to you out of breath and wanted a hug, you should have taken the rest of the day off. lol
You have to make sure that itโs the switch or the motor. Donโt just throw the parts cannon at it.
Same thing with my 2000 Sienna van. Replace the wiper motor and now the blades park themselves at the bottom of the windshield.
Easiest job I've ever seen….you are the master of the art….
Great video looked really easy!!!!
Nice job Mr. O.
I enjoyed that video even though it was short and straightforward and I really want that ladies steering wheel cover ๐
I like the shorter fixes sometimes this is great
like all good clam shells they crack
It pays 4/10 of an hour…. but, but… you did it in less than 2/10….GOOD JOB…๐
Eric O. Great video. Short and sweet. How do you decide when to buy OEM or use aftermarket parts?
Hard to beat a Hyundai. Had one years ago (2009 i30, the EU name for the Accent), never gave any trouble in 8 years. Had a few Fords/GMs/VWs in the interim, all heaps of crap. Just bought a lightly used 2019 Tuscon and it's a great car, puts the VW/GM/Ford to shame.
Hi Eric. Do you suggest using intake valve cleaning systems on a 2015 earth dreams 2.4 and changing transmission fluid with it being a CVT?
Anyone else getting audio problems?
All of your videos are educational in one sense or another. Either you show us what to do or what not to do. Keep them coming!
Nice easy Diag. and fix. Eric you deserve it!
Nice that it wasn't a USB cable jammed into a wheel speed sensor.
I like the steering wheel cover. ๐
BRAVE man working on these Hyundas..
Glad to know the rear squirter works too. Didn't know they came with a bidet!
All your videos are helpful!
Even the quick and easy ones are interesting to watch. Not as interesting as when Ol' Vic gets tuned up, but ………..
Great video as always Mr. O!!! In the many months Iโve been subโd and watching your vids I have noticed something that Iโm compelled to tell you. Your kitty is clearly identifying as a โshop dogโ. May want to takeโem to the animal psychiatrist and getโem some treatment for that. Or some cat light to drink!! Lol๐
It's impressive that a 13-14 year old Hyundai is still kicking it in the PRNY.
Once you removed the column cover — ah, that's a lot more familiar sight for most Hyundais I see lately.
Stalk switch went on my wife's Exploder…I was pleasantly surprised to find out the replacement switch (entire stalk) was only $20! I mean, that's still $15 more than what FMC paid for it in the factory…and the part came from FCSD, which means they probably paid $5 for it too…but you gotta have that guaranteed profit a rolling! LOL. Easy Peasy replacement too!
Mornโn Eric. Iโm gonna have to book an appt with you for my โ16 Silverado 3500HD. Iโve been trying to diagnose my cruise control but to no avail. It will turn on, the speed will set but then it deactivates on its own like Iโm pressing the brake. Iโve changed the brake position switch, checked the wiring to the switch, changed all LED bulbs back to standard halogens and NOTHING!

2005 hyundai blowing wiper fuse intermittent. I bought a motor and sure enough it fixed itself. Sent the motor back and sure enough the problem came back. It only ever quit on start. One time driving it shorted on intermittent operation. Pretty hard short as it showed up in the headlights. So my thought is bad armature in the little motor. Probably gunna order another motor. Pain for sure
School would have been so much fun if all teachers had your qualities of instruction.
Short and sweet Eric O, nice to have easy jobs in between the hard ones.
No live data capture ? You got lucky this time !!!
I would never have guessed that owner was a lady … not even after seeing the steering wheel cover ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
๐
Nice start to the day. Good job Eric.
I have a 2005 Accent with big 1.3! Useful video if I ever need to change the wiper switch.
don't you just love the word intermittent! It may or may not act up for you!
Gravy!
Nice
The wife had a '15 Accent for several years. Definitely an economy car, but it got great fuel mileage and didn't give us any problems. Sadly, it had just rolled over 100k miles when a guy in a minivan decided to cut across the double-yellow and swiped the front end of it, totaling it.
๐๐ป๐ท
Thanks Eric, I appreciate your videos on removing the plastic trim pieces. It's such an annoyance to break the little tabs and have to JB Weld bits back together.
If only this was the fix for my 1991 Peugeot J5 lack intermittent wipers. Cheers for the video.
Bought a standard motor products maf for my SUBIE and it was a denso labeled part ๐ฏ
