  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob W says:

A bit rough and ready but otherwise a good job, here in Australia it is called a park brake not an emergency brake although it is not compulsory to use it but is strongly recommended. The only drivers who do not use it are either to stupid or bloody lazy.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kulanda Forever says:

I use my parking brake every time I park. It's good for your transmission

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars nate G says:

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Todd T says:

I put new pads and rotors in both my ELANTRA s in front and after driving a while, they start grinding before coming to a complete stop, what would cause that

Just did these on the GF's 2012 Elantra Touring. Awesome vid and dead nuts on. Thanks for the tips Eric!

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! KECOG says:

We had an '03 Elantra that needed an emergeny tire change; hubby (who could at that time have done it himself without thinking twice) couldn't get the wheel off; it had rusted to the wheel hub. Had to have it towed to a shop to get it done. Glad they've addressed that issue in (or before?) the '10 model.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jimmy Turner says:

I wish every set of brake pads for brake jobs would come with new hardware but that's another way that gouge you on money is charge you extra for just the brake hardware kit

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars wsvitak says:

I pretty much do exactly this. Remove rust from metal surfaces and lube up brackets and pins and shins on pad. Always lube parking break hardware, as this ALWAYS seems to be an issue. No lube on any bolts as it’s not necessary. And your good. Been doing it since I was 16 and I get nice even wear.

What type of media do you use in your blast cabinet? I’ve been using glass bead and it doesn’t work very well.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars raphoto Peck says:

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Nasto says:

2 sets of rear brakes already. It’s looks like cars have rear brakes that wear out faster than the fronts. I’ve seen this on VW jettas and 2013 Nissan pathfinders.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kirk Matheson says:

So, Hyundai did this on both the Elantra and the Sonata, so that you can't get to that one bolt?

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steven Westfall says:

If you happen to be watching this vid in preparation of doing your first break job a word of advice. I have an 09 Kia Spectra and went to replace my pads and rotors. First time doing a break job. Discovered that my rear pads had seized in the brackets due to rust. Well got them out and cleaned the brackets up and put everything together. Big noob mistake right there that cost me in the long run. Rear calipers were shot from the seized pads. About 6 months later the calipers started to stick real bad and finally seized up. Rear wheel got so hot I had to have it towed to a shop. Replaced the wheel bearings too because of the heat possibly fouling them up. So if you find in yourself in a similar situation dont make the mistake I did. Lesson learned.

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars klystron says:

    ❤ 👌 👍

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joseph prosser says:

It’s a good tip to give a toot of fluid film on the hand brake mechanism. It is used so infrequently and the degree of movement so small that it just asks for corrosion to seize it up.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars lovetolearn 52 says:

I'm not trying to put anyone on blast here or use names but I was watching a video and it's sad when you didn't get credit when credit was do. Great job on diagnosing a car through a video a video.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars localcrew says:

I like to spiff up those wheels on cars with the spoked hubcaps by painting them with flat black paint. Just get you some Rustoleum in a rattle can and wire brush off the wheels. Wipe 'em down with mineral spirits and blast away! It makes those hubcaps really pop. Give it a try sometime! (Just to be clear here — paint the wheels after removing them from the vehicle.)

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wally G. says:

No one is disagreeing Eric O ! Also, we expect you to say what you say every time you're over at the bench doing the brackets. I'm using your method AND product, and no one is changing my mind.

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joe Shearer says:
