Another YouTube channel and one of their followers actually pay one of the scammers. This is truly a problem, and I too hope it gets cleared up quickly.

I get these on almost every channel I watch. The first one surprised me and almost fell for it. Damn shame we can't filter these perps from the Earth!!
Too bad another company couldn't start a video channel and say that not only will they support their creators, they'll protect them with full time employees shutting down these scams.

Rainman Ray has been fighting those scammers too. Recently he managed to get in touch with one of them and trolled them for YouTube. Seems they are targeting all the big automotive channels right now.
Nothing makes me sicker then lazy scum bags taking advantage of people. Even worse using good honest people like Eric and ray to carry out their nefarious schemes. As if us techs don’t already have a bad enough reputation. Like you said hopefully YouTube can get ahold of these idiots
YouTube is aware of this issue, it's on every channel. But YouTube doesn't do a damn thing about this! I report them all the time, YouTube gives a message saying they will "review" it and remove it if found to be spam… I check later and it's still there!
Even after you report it will be hidden but then just pops back up, so it's more of a YouTube issue not the channel owners issue. YouTube needs to do their job and when someone reports it have a human look at it and then place blocks or bans on those accounts. BUT THEY are too busy trying to copy right strike and demonetize channels
This has been a problem on youtube this whole year, for some reason youtube is having a harder time banning these bots. Otherwise its nothing they havent dealt with for past 7 years, its odd the problems still the exact same
Blows my mind that something so obvious gets so many people scammed. If somebody calls you on the phone to say you won $1,000,000 and all you needed to do was send them $1,000 in apple gift cards — would you fall for it? These scams are such a low bar to hurdle that I can't imagine how people function in modern society if they legit think they won "a giveaway" that sends you to an off site app.
No giveaways needed anyhow! Your content and knowledge alone are a gift for us all. Especially those of us who just want to learn something 🤷 knowledge should be free, and it's kind people like you who make that possible!
These scammers have been around for some time now, YouTube has been hesitant to do anything about it but from what I've heard is that they are going to try and have it tamed down etc.
I'm a rich prince and I'll give you half my millions if you just front me $10,000…. Laugh my a$$ off! Why are people falling for this?!?! No sane person would ever do this, this is not how life works!
I report all those scams, it's all anyone of us can do. I don't email, leave messages or post anything to the "real" creator like SME or Rainman Ray. I know they know anyway, I see no point cluttering their in-boxes. keep up the good work Eric & Vanessa.
