In this video I have a look at an older 1991 Jeep Cherokee with the big 4.0l I-6 under the hood. The customer drove all the way from British Columbia so I could have a look at it. For the past several years he has been having a very, very long crank time before the vehicle would start. Doesn't take long to put our finger on this one and get it all straightened out. -Enjoy!

Wish I lived closer, you’d be my main mechanic. Love you’re channel.
I have come across this same problem on a few different older vehicles.
This guy is sharp on his diagnostics.
Great job awesome video. Trouble shooting at it's best. Wish I could bring ya my jeep to help me find my no bus 🚌 issue.
Just watched some of your videos and what a great job you doing troubleshooting and talking about why and what your doing, just saying, intern helped me in finding my f150 truck problem. You have to be one of the best out there in a repair shop, thanks for what you ,Bradley n.n. va.
Who's Marie?
Great vid
You have the patience of a saint you are very thorough gummy phone mechanic myself
Great info Thanks
You give that thing 90s alternative music and she'll be running 9's in the quarter mile with a stock engine !!
I have this very same problem.
Fuel pumps were replaced years ago. Wiring was rolled as they tried to get gas gauge to work right, Engine only ran thru 1/2 of 10 gallon tank.
Starter motor was replaced.
Now to get right hose and replace it.

You two are hilarious and very good also. Thanks !
Great job troubleshooting.. wish my Jeep's fuel pump were that easy to get to.. have to drop the tank first.
"This is where we find out how accurate the gas gauge is." A dealership burned down near me a few years ago for just such a mistake.
I like that Marie! Long denim skirt, but some grease & grime on it shows she has style, is feminine, but not afraid to get dirty. Oh & on the troubleshooting that was a hell of a job troubleshooting that.
Renew the Petrol filter too …?
I did a fuel pump in an 88 Cherokee. Siphoned a full tank out. Couldn’t get the pump out without dropping the tank a little. Got the new pump put in, and I hooked the wires up backwards… 😣
Marie is jerk a not in that tail there Eric
That chick is such a flirt, but great video. 👏👌👍
Im not about to spend good money on a "submersible" hose when I have free drinking straws from mccdonalds and duct tape! 😉 lmao
Hose has NAPA hose clamps on it, then for sure the pump did NOT get changed.. But the poor customer got charged for a new pump…!! RIPOFF !!!
Ya don't have one of those expensive circular pump ring tools from SnapOn ?? Nothing like brass & hammer….
“It’s in the Bible!” Love it
Had the same problem with my XJ. Sock fell off the pump.
Canadian viewer right hur. "I don't want to hear it Marie" lol ! I died.
Great job on the video!👍🏻
Forewarned is forearmed 😉
Whoever put the fuel pump in before ain't much of a mechanic.
Another great lesson
MY 93 INLINE 6 CHEROKEE DID THE SAME FRIGGIN THING IN REALLY COLD WEATHER UP IN tAHOE. FRIGGIN SUCKED,
That must be a common problem I have heard several old Jeep’s crank like that
Great video…and I learned something about fuel hose types too.. thanks Eric.
Give yourself credit, you now have marie confused as to yes doesn't always mean yes and no doesn't always mean no.
It's about time for "NAPPER" to be a sponsor, you say their name enuf
My dads brother had a dodge van he used for his flooring business, the pcm was bad and he had to turn the key and just let it sit until the computer would send voltage to the fuel pump circuit. He did that for years and then one day had enough and broke down and ordered another pcm
My God you are good, love your diagnostic skills.
You really give a Guy hope that buying a nice relatively rust free used vehicle can be maintained and kept in like new condition as long as you care for and maintain/repair it promptly and properly! Thanks man
90s alternative music shud do the trick👨🏼🎤
The look he gave when it fired right up😎
