I have to take a lunch, and turn my ringer off. there’s so much to look at so ,many memories ,so much stuff and you just look and look ,and walk ,and look some more drink some water ,walk some more .it would take me all day just to poke around. to look I know you know what I mean by getting lost in your head looking at these great cars, and parts lots of parts .I enjoy it when you go to the yard ever watched old iron?
Eric, thanks for taking us to the salvage yard. I could spend a lot of time there too. Wondering about the ice cream shop? You haven't taken us there for a while. Great fix. Thanks for sharing!
I used to visit the yards myself. One yard would have "5 dollar " days where everything was five dollars. I came up with an idea to keep from getting skunked by folks who might beat me to a car. I would visit on a regular day and pull off what I wanted. Then I stashed them in another brand of car. Worked great. Scored a like -new dash pad for a first gen torino once. Also knew someone who dug a hole and BURIED a transmission for a couple weeks before a sale!
Get the supra jz motor and put it in your 4wd with a big turbo
Does the sun EVER shine at Wilbert’s?
One thing to try to do would be to space out the crimps, so a large bulge is not in one area. An avionics technique. Have a great day.
Better Segway would have been “we’re just like Geico so why don’t you guys go down in that comment section”
I love me a good torquing to spec 😂
my 91silverado left me stranded on the highway today rollback tow truck was $302 halfway to work truck started buck'en backfire popp'en then died would not start having checked everything appears the ecm is wack no power to injectors iac & fuel pump hope im right it did start with starting fluid
I had a Fiero then a Supra while my sis had a red Omni…core memories right there 🙂
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 "torque that to spec" proceeds to put the cover on..lol I love it
You’re a good man! The mechanics I’ve dealt with call out for a new replacement parts quote and if it exceeds what common sense would allow for an expenditure on an old vehicle….. you go without.
I love going to junkyard it’s like a shopping mall
👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Man down man down, lol
I don;t quite know what the attraction is, but I also share your passion for wrecking yards. Just like a kid in a candy store, I suppose?! From a [very] old Mechanic in Oz .
Hiya Eric
The pull yards around here (the dirty south) let people come in and strip all the wiring out for scrap. They just hack the cars to peices to get every last inch.
put it on your anvil and flatten threads with a hammer. great fix for lose fit . great fix
No lock titer on the belt come on now
Our Wilburt’s is called Cherry picked auto parts. So many cherries, so little time. Love the junkyard videos!
Eric
I share your love for salvage yards!
Good to see you back, thought maby you modified the Pit Smoker and it was game over. Ribs and pork butt all over the place. Sounds like the compass in the jeep steered it in the right direction to your shop.
Rule of thumb at a pick and pull Eric ….take the fasteners you removed with you because you never know ,plus even if you don't need them now you may need them later .😄
I really enjoyed my 86 2m4 it was crazy clean and low miles it was car I drove as a teenager 02-05 also had an 88 Omni as my first car blue on blue
Good ole salvage yards! I'll bet you could "make your own vehicle" from all the vehicles in that yard.
Nice fix Mr. O!
Thank you so much for all your videos and yes I also could spend days out at some of you pull it salvage yards we have some around here where I live in Central Florida it's like a I don't know a giant toy store to go in there it's amazing love the videos thank you
Another quality repair from SMA
Why did you hate your fiero? Because it was a terrible gutless I4? I loved all of mine. But mine had a little more motivation…. Boost and a DOHC V6.
God bless you for taking the twist out of the seatbelt. 😁
I'm just surprised someone is still driving a Commander. That someone is still able to.
So I gotta ask, why did you hate your Fiero? Aside from the fact that it was only the 4 cylinder.
You know it going to by a good video when it starts at Wilbert's U-Pull-It in Bath
I love every vid no matter how simple some of my best entertainment and your like serpro like it never happened lol those people lie seriously
Love the trips to Wilberts!
My first car in high school was almost a Fiero. Ended up with a 1997 Neon instead.
If you live in NY vote Republican in midterms to save America 🇺🇸!!!
I thought maybe I had skipped part of the video; no, you STARTED at Wilbert's. Dang, that junkyard has OLD cars. I had forgotten that the Pontiac Fiero had the 2M4 suffix on the first year model. IIRC the front of that car had the same suspension as the T-car (Chevette, T-1000 and later just 1000, Isuzu Impulse, etc) with the shock absorber mounted to the lower control arm. In the rear, the front of the X-car (Citation, Phoenix, Skylark, Omega) engine, transaxle, and suspension was in the back I think the gas tank was between the front seats. Terrible car. I had a good customer that traded a 1985 Caprice for an Omni. He had considerable problems with the Omni. I told him to think of all that traction he got in the snow. He traded that for a 1990 Caprice and it ran for many years after that. They only made that Commander for a short time; it was supposed to be a throwback to the old Grand Wagoneer. I think much of the wiring is the same between it and the Cherokee. Great video!
Wow Mr. O! That view of the trees at ol' Wilberts is incredible. I live in the desert southwest so all I ever see is palm trees and sand……booo!
I always enjoy your videos, thank you for making them. 😊😊
What kind of tape were you using?
What happened did he get pissed off at his seat lol
Just gotta love the wreckin' yard parts , usually better than that aftermarket crap
Just got back from a series you did in 2016 on a Honda Ridgeline and your videos are always so consistent, love it man!
I love that Wilburt’s ! I never saw such an organized junk yard !
Nice to see you!
👍🏻 🏹 🦌!
wrecking yards are great for older car repairs. your vids arre too!
Not much rust there in the scrap yard.
Also had a 2M4, sold it with 124,000 miles, original engine and clutch. AC didnt work anymore.
You are great as always..
A nice opening with Wilbert's.
Nothing like a little recycling to get the customer back on the road.
Where the heck have you been?!? Think of the people would ya!! 😅
When I got my 2008 Chevy cobalt none of the wire loom split tubing was under the hood, just wires. checked ever wire for damaged. Now I don't know if it was a good thing to do, but I wrapped all the wires in Tesla tape, than loom split tubing with more Tesla tape. I also used it on my gas clothes dryer venting.
Any 79 Volare's? just asking…..have one.. Peace DVD:)
You can stick a short piece of wire in the h
Hole and screw the original screw and tighten cheap quick n easy.
I moved out of upstate ny recently and every time you go to wilberts, I miss it just a little bit more amoung all the other things I miss about that area. Don't miss the taxes though. Or the salt and all the rotted out cars.
My grandpa had an 80s Omni grey same interior. He never drove it over 30mph, thruway and all. When he passed car would not go over 40mph.
Once we torque that to spec 😂
Pic and Pay and SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Always a good video Mr.O
Would have loved to see you tackle my old 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Had electrical gremlins since I got it, and it would lock/unlock doors while going around corners for no reason. Dug into everything and finally pulled the fusebox out from under the dash, and completely disassembled it to look for a bad solder joint.
Never found anything, and there were some integrated relays there also that I couldn't do anything about.
Got frustrated I didn't find anything, and put it all back together again and was planning on going to the junkyard to get another one.
And then the problem went away, never to be seen again. Just reseating all of the fuses fixed it, or just unplugging and plugging it back in again. Craziest thing ever.
Wait; that one little bolt / screw is the only thing holding my seat belt in place? Yikes
Finished it off with the ol' screwdriver trick.
The beautiful trees in the hills behind the salvage yard, love it! Thanks Eric!
tree colors in the background really puts the Wilbert intro over the top
what did you call that tape?
Hello from the northwest. Sounds like it's getting cold already? Great content!
That’s some premium quality Chrysler plastic you have there.
Wassup
Love you pull it. Saturday found thee only Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0 need number 5 fuel injector connector for a lady. $3 later a little solder heat shrink Bob's your Uncle.
The PC term is fir tree instead of Christmas tree. Where I worked, we were directed to call them fir tree fasteners.
Gotta love the u-pull yards. There's one about five miles away from me that has over 1,100 cars and gets around 50-60 in every weekday.
The pick and pull yards are always a good time, and Wilberts has a good selection including European models that would be expensive at yards that cater to those exclusive models, they charge the same for the type of part regardless of what it came off. Slip a section of tie wire in a stripped hole and it will take up the slack.
Another ringer Eric and I hope your arrows fly true this year, Thanks
Hi, Mr. O. I hope everything is going well with Mrs. O. I noticed she was absent today. And yes, sometimes you are a ding dong, but that is why we watch your great show. How else are we going to learn what not to do? Great find on the oversized screw. Luck counts too, but you can't count on it. Anyway, thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!
Eric are you walking off the summers ice cream at the beginning of the video?
Keep the cost down by getting used parts
When a junk yard becomes a more reliable source for parts than the aftermarket, that’s really something.
SMA after dark. Sweet.
You pull a bath?
I see that my Question has been answered already in the comments, You know Mrs. O and your guys with friendly competition, she's going to top you and your son, bragging rights lol. Best of luck to you and your family. I think a meet and greet is in order, just like the welded ball joint fellow lol, but at Wilbert's…would be Awesome for sure, but I know it would be a liability. Be well Eric!
I wish we had a scrapyard like that near me. The last I heard the only one close by had a 10 year old crush policy. Meaning this year any vehicle older than 2012 coming in would immediately be crushed.
I've been to Wilbert's UPullIt of Williamson and I wanted a seat for an 03 Jetta. The previous owner had a seat cover on it and melted the seat heater. Anyway, they weren't allowed to sell the seat to me with the airbag in it. What??
Pretty sure all Jeep Commanders have leather power seats.
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
What was this video about? Sorry I lost track.
The plastic fantastic a just o matic back to the junk yard.
I told you about the ground wires that were cut. The ground came the shock tower on the drivers side with a single terminal ring to the engine and the other to the transmission. Toyota doesn't make this part anymore. The terminal ring on the transmission was a very large terminal ring, the ones to the shock tower and engine weren't. I was very lucky to get this part from a 2000 Camry LE from a junkyard. Luck I had to get a new car battery. I bought my first battery for this Camry in 2020. I bought it at AutoZone. Boy when they say 3 year warranty they mean it. Luckily the first battery I bought was still under warranty. So both times I have lucked out. I hope the ground wires I bought work for the Camry. The guy that owns the junkyard said it would take about 2 to 3 days for the Camry to adjust. We'll see. The ground wires are still 22 years old. Just wanted to tell you this.
I always going to salvage yards, especially with my first car, '57 Chevy.
Simple
my father had the omni, i had a 80 impala, i would like to have one of those early supras.
Hey viewers… Welcome back… We have a broken Jeep, imagine that. They’re so poorly designed and made they literally fall apart and fail while parked even if a few have some help like this one. Chrysler/Jeep, Damlier Chrysler, Fiat Chrysler, Stellaris, or whoever bails their sorry ass out of bankruptcy next, make among the worst vehicles money can buy. You can bet your expensive failed TIPM, bad grounds, faulty A/C, electrical gremlins, rocker arms that fall off, low oil pressure, squeaks and rattles, and all the other chronic Jeep failures and problems on it. There are good reasons they’re rated as among the least reliable vehicles you can own.
How lucky are you that there was a commander in that junkyard. I'm telling you the sun was shining on your rear my friend
messed around in a junk yard for many years in my youth. My best friends Dad owned it. We always had parts
Well done, Holmes! Brilliant old boy!! Smashing! that like button. NEXT!
Lot of good memories of going to wrecking yards thanks Eric
Had one of these in the uk I’m a VW tech originally but now work for the AA. Was a weird fault dash lights flickering audio unit constantly rebooting and power seat not working. Found blown 30amp in NS of boot for the seat. Replaced it for testing and dam thing wouldn’t blow again until I tilted seat up. Turned out the the module the grey plug goes in had somehow got wet and affecting all the electrics and would short and blow the fuse. As a temporary roadside repair got seat in her position and disconnected plug and sent her on her 200+ mile journey home 😂
The Santa laugh startled me.
