Perfect Video to teach troubleshooting WK electric gremlins. Once the signals get into the BUS they get lost is space. Eric's testing the connector for power and ground and working bus was exactly the right way to find the problem. Now to find a cheap DIY scope to verify the two Canbus wires.

Thank You for your help and inspiration. If you weren't 500 miles away would be at your shop in the morning!

After multi high priced scan tools were used (many dollars), I found a bad ABS module on my '98 Dodge. My opinion is ABS is useless.

Hello love ur videos. Quick question, on a chrysler 300 c 2006. Abs module wiring harness, coming out of the module towards the vehicle there is a black cable that is cut. I have looked everywhere for the other side of the cable and wiring diagrams dont show a black cable. I have the abs bas light on. Please help.

Does anybody know if any testing of the ABS module can be done on its pins with a multimeter? Or would the ohm settings voltage in some way do damage to the module? I also wonder if the same codes could be coming from FCM, or PCM? Blessings.

Thanks for the great video. it helped me diagnosis my caravan with the same Teves ate mk 20 module. Sent module to Module Masters for repair. Abs works great after the repair. Used foxwell nt630 elite for diagnosis.

I'm curious too say, u made the call on the abs mod, question is would you still comdem abs mod if it was showing erratic voltages on the network when plugged in? In the vid You would think the mod its fine since it didn't do that or drop the network. Love the content by the way

Got a 2008 2500 recently I lost my abs system uo121 and p0501 … This has shut off my exhaust brake and all and related like speedometer. I don't see any bad wiring at the sensors. One thing I found that started at the same time is the reverse lights stopped working and I noticed they work..key off…when in reverse but there's no power key off . I will need to check my abs module for power and ground and power key on …but like I said I know reverse is showing no power key on but has key off power . Would there be a possible ignition switch wire issue to look for ?

Is there a way to diagnose if CAN signals are working if you don't have a scope like that? Any way to do it with a DVOM or test light ?

I have noticed that you switch between a regular test light and your home made test light with the larger brighter bulb i assume the home made light loads the circuit can you help me to understand when testing circuits when to select the home made style or the regular style light?

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars throttle bottle says:

lol, maybe they spliced the front wheel speed sensors together to fool the thing and not replace one or some chinesium alarm/immobilizer/logging or vehicle motion pickup?

The scope is such a beautiful tool for these types of diags.  I got my MicSig (just a starter for now; it's what I could afford!) about six months ago and in no small thanks to you I'm leaning a lot more of how to use it.  Found a blower motor that would intermittently speed up when hitting bumps in a Cheevy with only 34k miles.  Without the amp clamp to catch the power spike and the psm signal being measured to prove it was internal to the motor not the control module it would have taken a lot of work to try and find a short or some other issue.  With the scope I had proof and it did solve the problem and proved the new one no longer spiked.  Not only was it easy but ensures warranty pays and we don't get a charge back!  Same with a cam actuator solenoid.  Signal is good and solenoid it outside the range.  No circuit tests needed.  The digital visual proof that comm is there while the malfunction is there eliminates a tedious GM procedure on testing the part and circuits.  What i'm trying to say is thanks for being a great teacher and skilled mentor big guy!

Just a thought. Wouldn't it be interesting if when ever you did a segment on a particular brand of vehicle you also wore a hat with that brand name, such as a Chevy hat for a Chevy, Ford for a Ford and so on. All just for play that is.
