In a previous vid I had a look at this Jeep and found we had no communication with the ABS model. I installed a used one and now it's time to see if we made the right call on the faulty part. -Enjoy!

Thanks Eric——–This was a great save. A perfectly good jeep should not go to the crusher because of wiring gremlins. Your technique can save many great cars.
Just check the modules.
Power? Use the test light.
Ground? Use the other test light.
Can Bus communicating? Check the two wires from the Bus.
Fix any of the above if not working. Otherwise repair the Module.
We own 2 WK Jeeps. Perfectly good vehicles with flakey wiring.
Your technique is being posted on the wall of my garage!!!!
Thank you sir!!

I have an 05 Jeep like this one. It has the same thing going on with it. Was that one stuck in 2nd gear as well?? Mine is. Thank you for all your time putting out all the great vids
I HAVE A QUESTION WHEN YOU HAVE A BAD ABS DOENST CONECT TO COMPUTER?
AND THEM WHEN YOU DESCONET THE ABS SYSTEM
THE JEEP STARED AND THE SACNER LEARN THE COMPUTER ?
Love your video. Great detail!
Which autel was that scan tool since I'm in the market n don't want to get that one lol. Also which Bosch scan tool do you use so I can get that one
2005 jeep grand cherokee my lr abs sensor is bad ,will that cause the transmission to stay in first gear? when i first start it the transmission works good if i go to park it stays in first gear.
Question for you, did that jeep stall after a while? I have a jeep 05 se codes dame everything, the problem is that it runs fine but after I turn it off and back on it would start but stall after some seconds. Any info would help. It's driving me insane!
Damn it. I'm having the same problem with a 96 Grand Cherokee. My obd2 reader will not communicate with the brand new abs I installed. Been trying to tackle this damn problem for a whole year.
I always watch to the very end to hear, "if I can do it, you can do it. Thanks for watching!"
This is just a general comment, applying to this channel, but so many others too: how frigging awesome is it, the so many people with professional or home-spun expertise, are so prepared to share it with the world? home DIYers and generally interested parties would have no way of knowing any of this were it not for the human compulsion (among some..) to selflessly share what they know. Thanks, world, including this channel.
VIN write wont happen until abs initialization
Great pin point diagnostic.
Great job
ERIC 👍👍
I like the backup thermostat control over your left shoulder. Ready to go when needed :).
Nice!!
What injector cleaner do you recommend?
I love how your videos are "hands on" material getting the job done and not wasting 30 minutes on a tool truck or showing off your co workers tool boxes
Haha all you see are broken Jeeps, wonder why.
Awesome video and good info when replacing the Abs module
It's always good to let us know what are the good and bad on the Autel as I'm thinking of picking one of the same model that you have because not everyone has the money for the big name ones or spend the money just to use it a few times a year like me. Love your videos Eric keep them coming.
Good follow up
Good repair
Very interesting series
Great video Eric O
Just wanted to let you know that I love your channel. You've taught me a hell of alot pal. No car is broke till you get your mitts on em. 😁👍
Hey what video had Vinny cruising in the background?
Press Hyundai maybe jeep will come up…lol
I just noticed that you don't have very many mazda videos. Is that because nobody owns them out there? or are they actually that reliable?
How are the earthquake impact wrenchs holding up?? Plz reply
I'm so far behind on videos, I got to watch parts I & II back to back! Saved time that way, since I didn't have to go back and watch part I again to remember WTH happened, lol. 2 brain cells – one's lost, and the other is trying to find it … 🥴
My Autel started flaking out like that a few years back (still does) – I guess it's because I skipped an update. At least that's what Autel tells me. If I pay half what I paid for the tool to them again, they claim it'll fix it. Not so sure there. Mine will lock up occasionally, and the screen slowly fades to black and pixellates, like some sort of acid flashback …😨😁
Just finished filming a '06 Exterra brake job, with calipers. Both pistons on the driver's side were the brake pad – nothing was left. Also missing was a bolt from one side of the caliper, and one lug nut off the passenger side front wheel (and another that was ready to follow). Poor girl is a single mom – works her butt off to try and make ends meet. Of course this lovely state doesn't help matters much – they make it nearly impossible for the poor to get by, and just try to get you to give up and take all their handouts. Huge respect for her not doing that. With a child, she'd qualify for ALL of it – free car, free phone, free rent, free heat, free food, free medical, etc.. I guess one of her relatives has been doing brakes for her to save some money. After I fixed it the last time the front wheel fell off (replaced all the studs and lug nuts), she's been coming to me now. Whenever she saves up some cash, she'll come by and get something fixed. Sticker is 9 months expired, exhaust has a huge hole in it (probably why the money light is on). Needs rear brakes, too. Little by little we're gaining on it. I had to throw a few gallons of gas in there before I bedded the brakes in. Thing was on fumes.
Anyway, great vid as always, brother! I can't believe people still use Scotchlok connectors on exterior components, especially up here!! 😖
Hi Eric i am a new sub to your channel , just a question if you dont mind i see over a period of time you use autel / launch / snap on diagnostics , which one wold you recommend is the best for a self employed garage like yourself ?
regards and happy spannering from the UK
Eric a question for you I cannot seem to find any data on where the blower motor AC heater resistor is at on a 2000 Dodge Dakota you wouldn't happen to know where it's at would you?
I know this question doesn't have to do anything with this video but i ran into a problem with my car a/c and i was watching your video on it but I'm still not sure. So if you can help me a bit it would be great, When i turn my Honda civic 2008 on and turn on my a/c it would work fine, the clutch would kick in but then 20min give or take, it would just stop blowing cold air and the clutch would stop kicking on, and have a smell to it like you know its gonna blow hot air after. I was wondering if i should replace my whole compressor or the a/c clutch? What's your thought on this?
Fantastic video Eric quick question mate if you had to pick a single scanner what would you recommend for the home Mechanic
Good diagnosis and repair! Always a pleasure watching you do your thing.
Rule #1 don't roll down a customers window! why was it down rule breaker!! lol
You scream, I scream we all scream for ice cream 🍦
Does brake-kleen get ice-cream stains out of the customer's upholstery? I know you know……
Was that a 4 banger ? I love my 05 Liberty V6 !
like you know why you use the autel a lot more the bosh or sap on ? and love the videos I am leaning a lot
MORE VID'S Yer slow'in down
cool
I hope ALTEL watches your show.
My Autel MS908P has been mega wonky after all the updates. Super slow on establishing communication with 05+ siennas for whatever reason. Same issue with the chrysler abs modules too. Great video as always Mr.
Great job again like always
As always you make it look so easy.
UPDATE:
Later that day I went to run the full drive cycle before returning the vehicle to the customer as I usually do. The left rear speed sensor FINALLY stopped working. I checked it out and found it was missing the supply voltage to that wheel. Investigating further I found the wire that was scabbed in there from the other shop had rubbed (green puss-sack under insulation) through behind the fuel tank. The scotch lock was removed at the ABS module and the wire was repaired properly like it should have been on the first go around. Any how wanted to give you the update. The car was delivered and the customer is happy.
