"Trying to get a good purchase on this.. uh.. nut right here. Its hard to do. Limited space."

"Yeah, this is tight. Not in a good way."

"I'd like to finish. I'm not having a good time."

    That's what she said.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephen Pollard says:

I had to stop myself trying to reach into the screen and help get that wrench onto that pipe fitting.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Morrison says:

Believe that was flare nut wrench…

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Greg Sims says:

    Need line wrench set.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Morrison says:

    Flair nut wrenches already..

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John m says:

You were extremely lucky to get out all of the fittings and the electric hacksaw was a good call. you made my day!

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars D says:

Doesn't Toyota require ATF for power steering? Looks like regular PS fluid in the bottle, but I can't see any details on the label.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ian Tyler says:

And then the battery terminal will fall off and they will want to blame you for it! That's why I stopped dealing with customers a long time ago. You are a patient man Ray.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars anzyi1 says:

    never heard that Toyota used 18mm fastener!? always 10 12 14 or 17 😀

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ben Potter says:

I have used a sink basin wrench in similar situations and had good luck. It's worth a try,

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jimbo9008 says:

These jobs I referred to as eating an elephant. It just one bite a time till your done. The best part about eating an elephant is you get to choose, start with trunk and save the crappy part for last, or start at the back end, and get s**ty part out of the way.
    Great video as always
    Thanks

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars K R Hensley says:

Why is the phone ringing in the shop in the first place? The techs aren't going to answer it. It gets annoying to me and I'm not trying to concentrate on the job.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cryptomania79 says:

Have you tried those diablo diamond saw blades from home depot they work great on metal lines.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steven says:

really a time consuming job. However, it is a Toyota and those cars do last a long time!

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Spoder man says:

Anyone else notice that he said “144” instead of 145 😂😂

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Al N. says:

Good job! I had to do this job with wheel ramps. I didn't like it much. Oily and filthy.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Toneàloke says:

Crowsfoot wrenches are trash it would have been a lot easier if you would have just cut the line and put a socket on it from the jump

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tom Semer says:

A 3/8 crows foot flare nut set may have helped. Great job!

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BaddaBingBaddaBoom says:

I've never seen an 18mm fastener on a Toyota

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Toneàloke says:

    First

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Les Reeves says:

Try doing it on the groundwith no light & no crows feet spanner great times NOT!!!!

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Champion says:

What would have really sucked is if the pump was bad also!

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steven Baker says:

Penetrating oil….mutiple applications over several days!

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matt Mccoy says:

I hear that oliver tree in the back ground lol

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars toledotom57 says:

the new lines had one end I would call a double-flared. Not a compression. most hydraulic lines have triple lock fittings or double flared. The flare fits inside a housing similar to brake lines and the nut compresses the flare into the male end.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rob8742 says:

You should look into getting some ratcheting line wrenches they would've been handy here

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shawn MacDonald says:

If I'm replacing the lines anyways I always just cut the line and use a 6 point socket if there is room

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nova Vroom Vroom says:

SMH… the lack of maintenance is mind blowing to me…!!!!
Then people think that the shop is trying to rip them off..!!!

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave Keeping says:

why not use a line wrench for this

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Judi H. says:

Ray a drop of penetrating oil would help break those fittings free. How come you don't have flair nut wrenches in your tool box?

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ian Giles says:

2 weeks later customer comes complaining headlights are dull and the car won't start , then blames ray for not fixing the battery… (he told you ) Broad Shoulders is obviously an asset all motor mechanics and other service trades must possess to stay in business.

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Hartman says:

  52. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Goodwyn says:

Just did the power steering lines on my 93 Toyo P/U was easier then that corrola i thought it would be easy on that econo Yota ! lol

  53. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Carl M says:

How bad is it killing you by letting that battery leave like that?!

  54. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ron H says:

Serious question: I see a lot of mechanics using brake cleaner, degreaser, that sort of thing, just spraying it everywhere to clean stuff. Does it eat up rubber parts? Or is that something my dad told me back in the day that doesn't apply today? Just curious!

  55. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ron H says:

Bro, if you mechanic without a sawzall, do you even mechanic? lol
