In a previous video https://youtu.be/IYsfBWC4ilo I had a look at this Nissan Frontier that came in with a misfire and I diagnosed it as a bad fuel injector living under the intake manifold. In this video I swap it out and make sure I made the right call. -Enjoy!

Good video, it was worth a shot to look into that knock sensor code since i think its located under the intake as well.
Great job saved the vehicle owner some money most shops would have wasted time and money on wires etc. Your good. who won in cards ? My money's on your daughter lol
Great job like always thank for been so detail on your videos
I jus did head gaskets on one of these 3.3 🤦♂️ what a pita you ever do a job you regret 😂 this is going too be one of them for sure great video Eric I rewatch this again years later I know your frustration on the hoses 😡
Wiskdiidiodrk$@“#’oe
When one goes, do the rest usually follow? That would suck if you had to do that again in the near future.
I was wondering, how is it that 01 frontier supercharged has $200 injectors and the XE non supercharged injectors are $15? Is the supercharged Injectors dual port, is that what makes them so expensive?
What are the hours on this job?
Great videos Eric 1 and 2 thanks Brother!
Good job
The only problem I can hear is the exhaust leak….. Thanks for sharing your fix
This is Q once again… It would of been nice to mention that these Nissan vehicles have specific color coded fuel injectors FYI so instead of showing off or presenting kids play bogus diagnosis and pretending that you know how to use the equipment rather than showing them off is the drift im getting, but once again i say this with respect and i wish you the best and thanks for the video.
Sorry Sir but you never replaced or installed the rubber washer that belongs into the fuel injector rail per each injector, specifically specking were the large cotton swabs where used. Job not well done by all due respect.
My Frontier suffered a similar problem, but mine turned out to be bad bearings in the distributor, but it was intermittent, usually at the worst times.
Step by step video on removing the intakes would be phenomenal. These frontiers/Xterra almost always get an issue with the knock sensor.. and guess where Nissan put it.. not much info out there on how to get it done..
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Great video 👍👍
Thank you so much I have a very similar vehicle which has been giving me huge headaches going to have my friend come over with a good scanner and verify the same cylinder
If you take care of them and the little stuff that comes up, these Nissan engines go forever.
Ok so stupid question. In your opinion should a customer replace all injectors since you are already gaining access to them and you already have one failed?
STUPID DAY ON S.M.A.!!!!
Should’ve changed spark plugs and every injector while you had the intake off
Hey buddy I have a question. I also have a misfire code po300. I replace a lot of stuff. Not because that was the case but because it looks like previous owner did not do any work in here. But even though I got new injectors , knock sensor , camshaft sensor , new sparks and wires. Got a new distributer , I still did not got the issue resolved. It’s keeps on having an engine light on. Says egr , cat, o2s , Eva , Those are the codes that comes up when I plug the code reader. Any idea or hint. ? Please. I’m tired of working in the engine. Lol
Nissan – injector replacement book time: 8 hours. Time before your oil pump stops working – 8 days.
Hi I have 2007 fronter se 4×4 othere morning I got half tank gas .my engen light came on and truck is running ruff. What is my problem with both bad gas .and ruff .never done this befor I got gas .plase get back with me on these problems. Thk yu Daniel February 23 2021 at 11.37 pm
Did you do the knock sensor while in there?
Given the amount of labor involved in removing the intake, and that the vehicle was almost 20 years old; wouldn't it have been a good idea to replace all three injectors on that side?
It might not have been worth it to go after the knock sensor, but it would have been worth it to jump it with a resistor at the plug. Nissans are dogs when they have a bad KS- pulls back hard on the timing under load. Otherwise that VG33 is a solid- if not exciting- engine.
Another job well done…
Having this same problem with my Nissan Frontier, it has 69000 miles. Is it worth paying for the fix? How much would a mechanic charge?
Good video but tell me. Can it be an injector too if it only miss fires when it is cold? When it warms up, it is ok or when you give it the gas and is cold also good. Just miss firing when cold at idle. And no rpm difference when I take out #6 plug wire, completely dead. Give it the gas on take off and then runs great.
thank you sir.
what about fan speed
Was there an engine light before??
Wow this frontier looks great 👍. Seems like its been sitting inside a museum everything is clean including headlights. Wonder miles on the vehicle
Great vid, kinda reminds me of the Red Green show, keep up the good work.
Eric, your videos are always fun to watch because I'm always learning new things. I had the same problem on my 2001 Xterra with the same engine but it didn't correct a mother lovin problem i'm still having when my truck warms up which is, it starts to stumble down to 500 rpm's but doesn't stall. I have also found a bad ignition coil and 3 O2 sensors and all were replaced with still the same issue occurring when it gets hot… Have you run into this problem with either Nissan's or any other makes of vehicles that you know of? Thank you in advance for all you do!
Sir , im a filipino. From the phillipines. Please teach me how to read and diagnose codes. Thanks.
City working on that Nissan frontier you did one hell of a job you’re a good mechanic that’s why am concerned my six cylinder frontier smells like varnish gas runs rough when you put air on I don’t know what to do maybe you could give me some notesI really appreciate what you did thanks a lot your friend Walter
I want to say thank you. I was having a misfire problem on my freshly built vg motor and I was suspecting the injectors since it was the only thing I didn't replace on the rebuild. But after locating the cylinders that had a misfire I found I had the spark plugs wires for #4 and #6 switched. I swapped in new plugs on those cylinders in case I fouled them. Fired right up and ran super smooth. Thank you for at least showing a in depth video on how to troubleshoot the right way. I guess I was rushing it and didn't look over to make sure I had everything right. Much respect and thanks to you.
You were more than halfway to the buried knock sensor (Pt. 1 error codes) – middle rear top of block. Very common failure – should have changed it while you were there.
Enjoyed you fix-it vidio. On my 3.3 xterra I did new plugs and new valve cover gaskets. (Now it runs rough), ST is 25% I suspect wrong vacuum routing plus I have No MAF readings. HELP!!
why don't you just turn the answering machine off.
it's not ne san it's ni son. Nissan
I think that Nissan put the intake on a hoist then built the engine on it.
Wen you switch a injector for a new one do you have to do anything in the ECU like, calibrate the injector or something like that?
Your videos are narrated very well, and production features are really excellent. It's a joy to watch even if the topic material is way beyond my understanding, lol.
Eric you are the man 👨 👍
That's exactly what I'm about to do to my 2001 nissan frontier. Its missing and new plugs and plugwires and new distributor didn't fix it. Thanks for this video now I know what I'm getting into.
First time watching you , my dad was a master mechanic his whole life(diesel mostly but could fix anything) I can tell you are a great mechanic too!!!
