In this video I bring you along as I have a look at a customers Chrysler 200 that has an issue over heating. It sure seemed to have the classic head gasket symptoms but we still had to prove it. Ends up the head gasket is nuked and the car also has another issue the customer neglected to tell us.... it quits at random times 😐. Yeah.... that would have been nice to know.

That got us a 2013. that's a Chrysler it's a 200. It's got the leather Big Three Six Customer complaint of overheating right now. The car is Stone Cold Stone Cold Uh, it's only been running for about 45 seconds long enough to pull it inside and I've just given it a visual inspection I see the coolant is full, the thermostat is new.

Um I did pop the cap off it here when I first pulled it in to see if there's an excessive amount of pressure from that very short drive in and it had a little bit of pressure. just a little like that. So before you take it for a rep or let it warm up to check fan operation and stuff, I'm gonna. we're gonna do a CO2 block test on it.

Uh, just with the blue fluid just to see um, you know if we have a blown head gasket I do see a brand new water pump sitting in the back seat also. So I think the customer was going to try that. Um I don't see anything else new component wise, some new hose clamps down there in the lower hose. radiator does not look like it's ever been touched.

and then the note the lady left on this thing this morning says that sometimes it has to be driven for a long ways in order for it to act up, so that's kind of peculiar. Uh, of course it is kind of summertime now, so I don't know if she had has a loss of heat during the overheat. uh, which is usually a pretty good indicator of you know a blown head gasket uh, pushing pushing the coolant out. So let's do uh this.

We're gonna do a little CO2 test while it's cold. We may have to perform that test again while it's hot. If that seems good fluid doesn't change color then we're going to let it warm up, check fan function uh, see if we see any anomalies there and then go for a rep. that's the part number on it.

We've used it in other videos. What we're going to be doing is looking for the presence of combustion gas in the Overflow or in the radiator. I've already got air coming up through it and if there is, our fluid will change from Blue to Yellow So I'm just going to let this kind of warm up here. The best way to do this is with a five gas analyzer, but I ain't got one so nothing really materialized there.

I've put the cat back on it. We're going to let it sit here and continue to warm up. We're going to throw a scan tool on it so we can monitor coolant temp. You feel it doesn't feel like there's any air in it, but I mean the upper hose feels nice and Squishy Well, that's a good test or anything.

but um, that's what we're going to do next. So this is warming up here and we're listening to the camshaft heat itself. It's not like a typical 3.6 lifter is grind through the cam and they start tapping like this. This one's pretty noisy.

Um, one thing you can do I Guess what I was getting at is make sure we have water pump flow. easiest way if we don't if we don't have any water pump flow, we don't have any heat inside the vehicle or the heater course. but uh, so turn on the heat inside which is this is warm enough I Just turn it on and instantly had heat so that's good means we have circulation. Um, we want to try to find coolant temps.
so there's our coolant tent and we're gonna look for a fan speed. but I Have noticed on this skin tool and maybe on others these two data pins typically don't work on. Chryslers the high speed low speed fan relay requests or desired State They almost exclusively stay off on known good working system. Another quick and dirty way.

We can tell if the pans work by directional controls or the fastest way. let's kick on the AC You can see we're almost warmed up. Usually car automotive manufacturers fans kick on somewhere. it's between 220 and 2 30.

generally most people don't have overheat complete though. comparing driving when it's a fan problem, you know you guys usually like, well you know when I sit in traffic is when when they have that complaint. Let's just see here you know we've got really good heat. It's very hot here.

Let's turn it all the way down. Oh I Just heard the clutch kick on. That's good. Let's see if, uh, see if they have fans here.

Okay, yep, there feels a little cool right here. Real pattern over here. definitely cooler air. Ah, this part is the fan actually I would say overall not not a lot of heat coming off the radiator.

but I don't know if this performance that's open because this hoses this holds a stone cold. Kind of interesting because we're at 206. You can take that thermostat and be open by now. 208 going away.

I know we am. presses on, both fans are on and you can see both our kids there are not valid There we go now. I got some pretty decent warm air coming on. Definitely blowing some hot air now.

Yeah, okay yeah. upper hose is now pretty warm. Yeah yeah, they're getting uncomfortably warm now. Okay, let's go for a purpose that open.

Let's see what happens with our temp here. I wonder uh I Don't think we can kick the fans on with the engine running on a Chrysler I'll poke through here and see if we can. It does have a ton of pressure on it right now. You know the upper radiator hose is pretty stiff.

I'm gonna crack loose the bleeder on the thermostat here to make sure there's no air trapped right here. Foreign. Be very careful on these if you're doing them. it's all plastic.

You actually turn that a little bit too much to break off. So let's grab, uh, grab us a safety napkin you're going to want a couple of them. fold them up. Nice that off about it the cap itself and I have the safety napkin keeps it from really smoking in the face.

So I'll give her a few rev up tune-ups here if anything changes there. So it appeared from what I'm seeing, it looked like the coolant got very agitated there. Lots of air came out. I think I seen it whipping up.

That's pretty interesting. Almost like it had air sitting in it. That's pretty interesting. I'm gonna give it a few blocks back here before the truck gets too cold.
Actually let me take a little fluid out of that. Reservoir Okay, where's our temp at? Our temp is at 217. Still no fan yet, but we know the fans have the ability to work. Lots of air bubbles get blasted up through here now.

Fans just kicked on. low speed. Oh let me. uh.

so I'm reaching down here. Uh, the Fan's on low speed temperatures at 219. Oh there's my face. You guys don't believe me.

I Just want to see if our temperature goes down with the fan on a low speed. foreign cooling fans off temperatures back at 213. So this is pretty bizarre. 16 PSI cap feels like it's about 15.8 so that's good.

All right. At this point, we know. We know, We know there's no air stuck in the thermostat at the bleed. Port We know the coolant's pull.

You know the pressure on the cap feels okay. Obviously, we could have tested that, but let's be honest, it's not going to be the problem. It has an aftermarket tank in it. It is a dormant tank made in Tijuana and just sitting here looking at it warming up? well, we don't really see an issue.

Hands were kind of heat on the inside. I'm gonna throw the engine cover back on it. We're going to take it for a rip cooling fan that's back on right now. Both of them are on low speed, a good heat coming off it.

So what are some potential issues? Well, one of them I guess I Guess we could have a faulty gauge I Don't know what her symptom is, that she's seeing it overheating. We may actually have to investigate that, but in the meantime, I'm gonna check out a few service bulletins and then we're gonna go for a ride. It's on our test drive here. What we're going to be looking for uh, is I'm going to have the heat on or I'm going to kick the heat on periodically.

make sure we have good heat out of the dash because that's going to tell us. You know, water pumps circulating. We don't have a slipping uh impeller on the water pump if we lose heat. a couple things you know it could be a water pump which I doubt or B uh, it could be a blown head gasket.

Putting air in the cooling system usually always gets trapped in the heater core. You'll have a loss of heat. Temperature gauge will go up as soon as the temperature gauge drops down. You get heat again.

Um, that's a very, very classic head gasket symptom. What I suspect on this is we probably have a radiator that's partially plugging because by her description, the car needs to be driven for an extended period of time. Uh, typically on these 200s. I've done radiators in the past.

Customer complaint is usually overheats on the highway or at highway speeds, which is very common for a you know, a partially plugged radiator. So that's what I suspect we're going to keep an eye on the temp gauge I've got it up here and we're going to go down the road ad and we're going to jump right on the highway because I suspect that's what's happening if we see our temperature creeping up and staying. High I'm going to be highly suspicious of the radiator so, but those are a couple things we're gonna be checking for. I'll get our heat cranked up here.
We'll kick around one notch with the AC off. That way we're not running the fans. Turn that on here. Gotta let the blend door switch.

All right, We've got good heat coming out of the dash Chrysler 200 with a good heater core. Mentioned that our temp is down to 212. we'll go out here and get on the highway and we'll head towards town. So just taking off from the uh gas station there at the red light or at the stop sign, we got up to 222 and it's only like not even an eighth of a mile here to the well, maybe quarter mile to the on-ramp for the big road.

the big big Road Cooling down again. The other thing I noticed too was getting on I could hear the water rushing through the heater core. It's just more of a GM thing. This is a Chrysler thing but we'll hear that so maybe you know maybe we have a head gasket issue slowly creeping up, taking a while to push the push the air in.

We're gonna head north here south rather. And then East got good heat. got to get on it a little bit here. foreign whatsoever coming out of the dash.

Get off the exit here so we're only eight miles or so from the shop. the whole time she wants to run about 220. didn't really budge much from that. uh, still no heat out of Dash I Left the heater off completely and then just kicked it on briefly there for a second.

and uh, no heat to speak of. Get back on here and I still was falling, apparently lukewarm air. It was warm in the shot, but I don't know if you guys can hear that. hopefully a lot of times.

This camera really picks stuff up, but I hear the water agitating in the uh heater core. But like I say that's quite unusual and we know the system didn't have air in it because we purged it at the Uh thermostat. Clearly somebody's been trying to figure this problem out. so the problem happened before the shot.

The parts can then. But what I'm going to do here is we're gonna. We're gonna hammer on it a little bit coming up this on-ramp and I expected temperatures gonna go way up 17 and I don't know plastic for Chrysler issues. Yeah, so we lost throttle and it stalled.

shut off for a second. Foreign cars she didn't like going pedal with plastic start coated charging system high electric coats now electronic throttle control two RPM Performance We're gonna erase the codes because we want to make it back home. Codes are erased. Stupid freaking cars.

It's gonna be one of those days. Uh, so it won't start. No codes. That was it.

That's all she wrote. Of course, the battery's only good enough for about one crank. So here we sit DOA side of the road. we can only go backwards.
You're gonna carry us all the way. now. We're just gonna Coast back down the on-ramp here in neutral. wait for the tow truck, make sure we're plenty off the road.

Yeah, of course. like I said batteries Stone dead. So most of the stuff I work on the batteries are junk so you only get about one chance to crank them over if they're dead. But like I say it's not storing any codes.

Of course it's too dead now to communicate with anything. So there's really nothing we can do now other than hurry up and wait. We'll call Mrs o we'll let her know that we're broke down. I Called my brother see if he can come with his flatbed and pick us up and I doubt this has anything to do with the overheat.

conditionally it just happened to be the straw and the camel's back per se. and yeah, I kicked it in the pants getting on the highway. Big deal. Um, if a car can't handle that, they shouldn't have put that feature on the gas pedal.

so no I don't feel responsible I guess before we get that comment in the comment section, Um, pretty hard to hurt a modern day vehicle with electronics as far as you know. hammering on it. Yeah I know the camshafts going out of the car. it's ticking.

but which Chrysler 3.6 isn't? Let's be honest, they all need cams. They all tick. Um I don't think there's anything catastrophic I just think like you know, fuel pump or something. died gauges at half a tank and just pushed me enough to crank it over.

but we don't because we could then crank it until it's dead. which we've already done which only was twice. So I'm just gonna wait and think about my life choices of being a mechanic. Get back.

We're gonna hold it here. then we'll just drag it back around. We gotta get our tow truck. I need a driver? You're the driver.

It doesn't run. Oh yeah. I Guess you can't use it? No no, it's a ignition switch. rather out of it I just haven't fixed it.

so I can check this kid. All right. You carry the toe strap I'll meet you at the car. Okay I want to drive tow truck I don't know if you can operate.

it's out here. We got the hook too in there. so people think that I broke the car. you were driving it I know but I was also freaking getting on it too.

That's what the customer is gonna think. well drove it. You broke it, you know. I say tough patootie.

You must have sabotaged her. No. I don't I don't want to walk. You didn't walk.

You got towed. Yeah, you know what? It's highly convenient, right? Yeah, it's super convenient. Like I got freaking nothing better to do today and work on people's junk. Oh wait a minute.

That's what I get paid to do so we're gonna pull in Bay Two Okay oh baby, let's go you. I already tried to start it. Battery's smoked, put it in neutral tension ready. Please try because we didn't put the engine cover on.
That's it. Let's get the charger. We'll hook it up where we tried to jump start it. We'll set it to boil.

We let her sitting here cooked for a little bit. we didn't put it on boil. just 20 amp size. That thing goes.

Now the magic toe bus ride. Freaking junk. All right. Well let's continue.

Shall we do? What you gonna do? man? Okay here we go. Round two back on the screen: 212 We've got no heat out of the dash. very little this thing turn on here but when I rev it up I can see the agitation in the uh. Well now we're starting to get decent heat Now it's sitting here idling with the heater off.

Um I can see it pulling the water down in the Overflow jug. So that tells me our water pump is is a pumpkin. We're going to stay close to home this time we're not getting on the big road. let's go.

It's a brown town here so what we're going to do is we're going to go up this big hill here. up the ladder. the Jacob's Ladder see it's gonna simulate the on-ramp but you can see we're running about where we were down the highway about 2 right? so everything situation is kind of the same. Ready I'm gonna put a pound of the plastic.

Oh, that's what we want to do last time. see what happens. Temperature went down about 10 bucks. we got heat again.

This feels a little bit a little bit safer to drive. All right. We got a blast of heat. Temperature immediately went up to 2 30 as soon as we went off the gas c233 and climbing not.

But if we hammer on it so we got a little plastic, you know potentially went back up. It's falling and now we have heat. classic. I Might get up here and turn around here, right? This car that's a wicked Steep Hill Fans were running pump on here.

put one hander almost there. 230 Barely any heat. Yep, water pump is pumping because we can see it. Oh man.

a lot of air coming up in there, bubbling and burping in there. Let's go test it again. We're coming back down the hill now and the heat. The heat keeps coming and going.

It'll be kind of mediocre. Then I'll get a big blast of hot air and then right stone cold again as we're coming down the hill here. I Feel like heating up I feel the heat coming on dash. at the same time the temperature is starting to decrease so as the temperature goes down then we get heat out of the dash.

Cloud will hammer on it. the temperature will Spike but lose heat. It's a very, very typical symptom. I Guess you're looking for the word for blown head cast because those are something we see.

That's why I wanted to hammer on it getting on the highway there because that's what I would expect to see and you can. You can see. Now we're dropping down to 210 . we'll just leave her running here.

There's a ton of pressure on the system, which is pretty unusual, especially having drip in the car this much. Lots of air bubbling out of it. Yeah, and our CO2 tester is turning yellow almost immediately. It's bubbling like crazy over here and we change from Blue to Yellow pretty quickly.
Let me get a light so you can see that better and just to be sure that everybody saw this: I'm gonna take I put I put new fluid in it so you guys can see that there. so that's the blue. You know we can see that. Hopefully you guys can tell in that light there.

but she's nice and blue I don't want to stick it on in case it starts in a vacuum. Let me take and fire this thing up. Okay, foreign -ups there for us. air all right now.

It's been pushing on her own so we'd like to push out all the air that's in the block. Okay, let me go shut it off because it's gonna boil over. but you can see and it turned yellow here as we're pushing all the air out for all that combustion gas. You gotta give her a couple rub-ups to get her to do it.

But there you go, you can see. Hopefully you guys can see that we changed from Blue to Yellow. Let me go shut it off. Quiet.

come on baby. There we go. We got it around before it blew up and uh, hopefully. uh, not for you guys to be able to see that camera.

Sometimes my videography sucks. most of the time it does. but uh, you know we can see. It's probably too bright for you.

How's that? not good with the white balance and things like that? And hopefully you guys understand that. We we have to rev it up because we need that high compression. So sit here at night. Oh I mean this thing's only idling at.

you know, 50 pounds compression? 60 pounds, Maybe 50 60. uh. running compression throttle plate clothes. So when we throttle plate wide open, give it that big gulp.

You know now our compression jumps. you know, plus combustion pressure? I should say you know. added with that mix, you know, uh, super high? I Don't know what the figure is, um without spark, you know we're looking at probably 250 pounds compression. So but add a combustion event you know, make some really high pressure, instantly builds gas and uh you know you can see it.

you know, all bubble out getting on it, let off it, let it sit and you know it's going to purge out that big gulpa air that just took in so that show's over. Thanks for watching. That's it on this one folks. Pretty definitive and the other thing is I Spoke with a customer, he stopped in here I was just finishing up and getting ready to back it out and he says the whole uh equipment on the side of the road thing pretty common I guess and that's what it does to them.

It leaves them walking and then he lets it sit for you know, half hour 40 minutes and it usually starts back up and that's pretty much the time frame that we were. By the time we were sitting down, my brother got me dragged me back here. Of course it fired back up is about that amount of time. so uh, sounds like he's got a couple issues going on with this car.
It is a buy here pay here. you know, driving away, take time to pay that kind of slogan Place uh and they've given them an unlimited limited warranty so it's going to get towed back there and apparently they're going to fix it which I doubt? uh, you know I know the place that it comes from and they're not going to fix it so it's going to get jammed full stop leak probably giving back to him or they're going to take it and put them in some other car and you know, turn around polish this one back up selling somebody else. you know after they put stop leak in it one or the other. they rarely fix anything and those places are pretty Savage but that's it.

That's how life is and uh, life. Savage Wow you got real cynical real quick. What? I want you guys to do real quick is go in that comment section right down there. The questions the comments fancy the Facebook You guys know what to do.

It doesn't matter because I can do it, You can do it. Thanks for watching foreign foreign.

You should always carry a battery jumper when you test drive a car with problems. Especially when you have a iffy battery. I always have one in my vehicle just in case. Never know when a battery will die.

I was doing that test on a Dodge Neon one time and she super heated and blew steam out of the jug across my hand, up my arm and across my neck. 2-3 degree steam burns on the entire back of my hand (the entire surface of the back of my hand was a 1" raised blister) I treated at home. Yep, it was a head gasket being heated by the exhaust.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dan b says:

I had the same problem on an old yamaha dt125.. gave it a few quick revs… was seeing bubbles go into the expansion chanber.. the head had warped a bit and was pushing exhaust gas through the cooling lines 😎 πŸ˜‚

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars djsi38t says:

Yeah yeah everyone likes to chit on chrysler.Literally millions of minivans on the road today with this motor with over 200k on em still going strong..

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Milton Odom says:

Two of my daughters going through this very thing with the 3.6. Warranty is denying warranty work saying that the driver should've noticed it was overheating before it ruined the heads. One is in a mini van and the other in a pickup. This unlimited warranty is a scam.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Chasse says:

The key clue was the replaced coolant tank. I had a Renault in the shop in the 80's that the customer had replaced the tank twice on . It kept melting! πŸ˜ƒ

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Chasse says:

    What a clatterbox!

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RC Wagon says:

I had a K car in the mid 1980s that would do that, stop won't start. I never found the fix. When it got hot if you turn off the engine, it was half an hour. Imagine two Naval Officers in whites using an empty coffee can to pour water from a fountain over around the carburetor to cool something down, few buckets and it would start.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars White Boy Pete says:

Fyi. When you replace the motor use a caravan engine there cheaper and sound better.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars White Boy Pete says:

That trick only works if it's on the exhaust side don't forget to tell people that

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars White Boy Pete says:

These cars always leave you walking. Damn v6. On this motor after checking run hot. I found the factory water pump spun but the propeller didn't spin

  52. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LOGGATO says:

I have learned if the cooling issue is a little confusing or strange or sporadic it's most likely a head gasket

  54. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Donald Leen says:

My sister in law bought a Chrysler 200 brand new and did not ask anyone about her choice. Would have told her not to buy any Chrysler product if she asked. Did not say anything negative to her about her purchase….. but she is learning the hard way with every repair bill !

  55. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Alan North Carolina says:

You diagnose some major issues on not-so-worth-it cars. Do they just end up paying you the diag fee or do any of them actually fix it?

  56. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jacob Stacko says:

I’m about 9 minutes in and this reminds me of an identical 200 I worked on when I worked at a Chrysler dealer. Customer came in with an overheating concern. Checked the coolant level first thing and saw this sludge in the bottom of the reservoir. Drained the coolant only to find out there was a TON of casting sand from the manufacturing process of the block left over and circulating through the cooling system. Good times.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

What a great video for any type of car. In my life, I've seen some of those symptoms but didn't know how to read them. Thanks.

  75. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Monkey Wrangler says:

A Chrysler product with cooling issues? Don’t believe it. Nope.

  76. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars I have the documents says:

Stop leak will not do d*ck for a blown gasket. That must be frustrating to you. That is not really a hard repair.

  77. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars I have the documents says:

Without a doubt blown head gasket. Pressurizes the coolant circuit and affects the flow through the radiator.

  78. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Third Rail839 says:

From what I Could see, the Temp Guage was already showing on Hot or over. but, I am not sure if anyone else noticed this detail or not!

who knows, if SMAR Tow Towed the car or not!

  79. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars mikeebikeo says:

I would suggest to dump the Chrysler and get a newer Toyota or Hondo!

  80. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Edward Deyo, Jr. says:

    I didn't know Chrysler made a 3.6 diesel in the 200,,,

  81. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anti- Groomer says:

Yeah but what was the original problem before you blew the head gasket?

  82. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gordon G says:

Why do I feel like playing the tune from the movie "Deliverance"?
Northern New York State … YeeHAW!

Oh, just kidding I have had Caravan issues for years. Nasty when you're in the middle of Nowhere Virginia, by yourself with no cell phone.

That exact symptom happened to a pt cruiser I had . I hate Chrysler!

  84. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeff Crompton says:

Better off dumping it. The customer will need a new engine regardless if he fixes the head gasket.

  85. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Travis Jansma says:

How small of a hole is it do you think? Would some of that gaket/block sealer crap work?

  86. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin Koepke says:

I would run from this one. Thanks Eric!

  87. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kent Early says:

Sounds like it needs a rocker arm or two

  88. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Connor M says:

This car is a testament to Chrysler products….. Bunch of rod knocking garbage πŸ—‘οΈπŸ‘ŽπŸ»

  89. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars kelly gable says:

head gasket is a big job , would that car be worth it ? what would it cost?

  90. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars That Guy says:

God damn that engine is loud.

  91. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Coolcalbbws1 says:

I can watch you work on any car your funny and have very good content I always like cars being fixed I just don't like the getting dirty part 😊

  92. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jesse wynne says:

This car MAY just get away with some BARs head gasket seal if done right
It’s in the very beginning sign of head gasket leak. So catch it now with sealer and sell it off. could be a temp bandaid to sell to carmax or carvana and get something else.

  93. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jesse wynne says:

I guess it had to cool off in order to restart! Gotta love the new technology sensors saved the car before I kicked the bucket
Too bad batteries in most cars are crap and so small doesn’t give you much Lea way to restart

  94. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jesse wynne says:

Is it me or is that motor doing a lot of lifter knocking? Tick tick tick tick boom!

  95. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jesse wynne says:

First thing I thought about was a sticking thermostat
Since it changes duration in times of overheating. Sometimes short trips some long. I had a car that had a sticky thermostat
And like 3 garages couldn’t figure it out til it was too late and the heads got warped. Even tho I would turn it off when the temp light would come on.
But later found out the cars without actual gauges
It’s too late by time the temp light comes on.

  96. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rick Mineer says:

Yep, it overheated. Head gasket is toast.

  97. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rick Mineer says:

Chrysler is scary. My 11yo Chevy has the original radiator, heater core, water pump, thermostat and serpentine belt all in place. Valve cover hasn't even seeped yet. It also idles much quieter. Black specks in the reservoir told me the coolant hoses were failing so I changed those last week. A minor coolant leak turned out to be a $3 O-ring at the throttle body. That line was the passive air bleed.

On this Chrysler that hose attachment on top of the reservoir is the passive air bleed. Look for a leaky O-ring at the other end. If they ever used a stop leak product, you should know what that did.
