Hi modelo that picoscope
Shouldn’t the state of charge be at a 100 percent for testing? Its at 40 in video.
We’ve got Picoscope at our garage but I’ve never used this function but I’m certainly going to try it after watching this….Many Thanks Eric 👍🏻
I LIKE THIS TEST! NO FUSS, NO MESS, NO GUESS! ! GREAT Video!
Gotta love that Pico Scope! I'll be glad when I can get back to using mine! This is one of the test's I want to do.
That is a great tool! Thanks for the video.
Just a smidge — LOL
Nice hat 👍
Thank You to the ENTIRE South Main group for some GREAT educational videos.
I am looking to buy a Pico Scope. Which one has what is necessary for basic automotive use? Which one do you recommend? I was looking at the 2200 series.
I've been using carbon pile testers and they work pretty good if the battery is properly charged and warm. However I've been scratching my head as to how to test the three 12V AGM batteries for the boat. Nobody seems to know how to test those. By chance, within the testing algorithm for pico, do they offer a diagnostic option for AGM batteries?
Hi Eric, Your 4425 is hanging on the bonnet catch, are you using the blue usb 3-0 cable as mine is only about 3ft long and as it's usb 3-0 its like a stiff hose! Is the one you are using a 3-0 or have you just used the standard usb 2-0 lead as they can be much longer and a lot more flexible. The usb 3-0 is a much faster data transfer but when would you need faster data than a usb 2-0?
What thermometer is on the battery? Thanks
Eric what model number of Picco Scope are you using. Enjoy all your videos keep up the good work
Every time I see the PICO in action I'm impressed.
Eric or should I say Mr O. I have a question about scan tools I am also a tech and am going to begin branching out on my own I have seen you use the otc the autel and Ivan has used the launch the verus is out of the question based on cost I will primarily be focusing on American and Asian not a fan of eurotrash which tool would be beneficial in your opinion. I thank you in advance and wish you and yours a happy New year!!
Or you can use a $40 carbon pile tester. Find out all you need about the battery being dead or not.
Scientific and accurate, leaves no doubt!
What would the amp measurement look like, the one where you found the huge spikes, if you took that reading with a typical clamp meter? Would it average those peaks out or ignore them etc?
Nice video. Cool to see how good you handle the scope.
Awesome video keep them coming
Nice OMG now I need need/want a pico scope. i posted the vid on the Honda. Start with scanner connected. Thanks Bro
I just drive it over to Autozone and have them check it and replace it for me. LOL
Hello Eric
If Honda & Toyota and the Rest of the Japanese Cars + Korean did not exist.
With your Hard Earned Dollars
which would you be most apt to buy in order.
Ford or Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/FCA or GM ?
Basically i'm trying to see which you find to be the best to worst out of the big 3
Hi eric did you get that hat for Christmas or is it your winter hat ?
Is there a reason you don't connect the pico to the Verus? I have a Verus edge and I connect my alignment machine to it so I don't need a cabinet since it's Bluetooth. I plan on getting a pico for my shop and connecting it to my Verus. To me it would be more convenient than a laptop.
Hey Eric O! I just picked up a MaxiDAS DS708 that wasn't registered for $400 on the CraigsList. Harbor Freight sells it for $1,099! I got the free update and registered it. I love it! It's no Verses but let's me see a lot more data pits and access more functions. Do you know of an inexpensive scope that will allow me to view current wave forms? Your scanner you use in this video is amazing but is way out of my price range. I'm a DIY car guy and have a few situations where I wish I had one. Thanks! Great Videos Eric O. I catch myself binge watching your videos! Lol
hey eric, is it possible for independent repair shops such as yours to be able to work on cars that are having transponder key issues (no start, indicator light blinking) or should it be towed to a dealer?
That is really cool.
Damn 11°C inside the shop? brrrrrrrr that's cold to work all day. Great video thanks for sharing, happy holiday!
love your videos would love to see some GDI digas don't seem to be a lot of info about them
oh i just had such a laugh watching eric the car guy telling everyone he's a master technician lmao. come on really i wouldn't let him blow my tires up…
Very good video. Good to finally see a valid battery test. Good work.
Eric O has all the awesome tools.
I remember standing in a classroom when Danner told me he just picked up this new "pico brand scope to use for class and all these years later PICO has become Extremely popular in the professional automotive world. I'm glad to see it ! Such a fast bod rate and the detail is great!
love to see this test on a car with a bad starter or some other problem where people would "shot gun" a battery into it and be wrong…
COLD THERE I SEE
What brand of replacement batteries do you use?
Little dis-concerning how the days of the backyard mechanic are disappearing. Unless you buy a pile of testing gear.
YEP – I need to sell some stuff and get me this setup!
Love the PICO vids – thanks a million!
Got to admit, all those measurements/calculations in one place certainly makes it easy to see EXACTLY what is going on.
All's I can say is as a customer if my tech gave me a before and after printout like that I would be permanently hooked on that shop/tech.
if you can do it ,i can't
Thanks Eric O. I have been watching alot of your videos in the last few weeks and I wish we had a shop close to me that is as well equipped and proficient at diagnostics as you are. I try to do as many of my own repairs as possible and would love to have a pico but just can't justify the cost at this time.
Puts my Harbor Freight Load tester to Shame, But on the good side I can cook a burger on mine, can Pico do that ?
28 Degrees, Wow….Your going to kill all your bugs off !!!
They totally called off Winter down here, 77 Deg, 70 % Humidity
