In this video we cover the front sway bar links that are often a cause of a rattle complaint on many different makes and models. This is not always the cause of the rattles but it is something that should be checked along with control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, ball joints, struts etc... --Enjoy!

Good luck Hannah! ๐
Eurotrash??? Hahaha. Don't. Good cars when they are not breaking
Nice video bro; i have a honda accord 98 lx and my car does one(1) of the 2 things in my front end suspension that you mentioned/diagnosed(professionally)
1) rattling over any uneven surface
2) wheel feel like its about to come off when its say positioned 25-45^ยฐ clockwise and i accelerate; similar to how a car with a whopped( oval shaped) tire would exhibit.
If you could do a vid diagnosing ball joints that would be great! Subbed ~
I totally agree with everything said here but I have never seen anyone grease those fittings and then they wear out anyways.
The noise I get is on full right lock turns – it sounds like a crackling/popping sound… no noise on bumps or any other time. Not sure if it is sway bar link, sway bar bushing or suspension strut… so hard to tell! I should add the CV axles are new and the sound was present before and after there replacement.
My college professor once told me, "Not everyone knows that. We should never assume people know what you know." Information is always valuable to someone. Thanks for the video.
Something special about youze guys. Really dig you all. bye Hannah. You are so lovely and patient. Ya gotta come back a visit often. You have great vibes and the mechanic is a sweetheart. Ya'll made my day.
Hey I just change mine in my escape how tight should those nuts be on the link
Thank you for the video. I appreciate it.
Ah!
Thanks for explanation. Always hard to try to explain the sound and symptom of the front suspension issues. When i hit fast/hard on gas pedal either from stop or even when driving it sounds like someone "bangs" on the floor. Just one time.. are the front swaybar bushings the only thing that can cause that banging on the floor sound?
What else symptoms can bad swaybar bushing cause?
I've already replaced endlinks and lower control arms. Shocks and springs.
Bad lower back engine mount.. can I have that banging on the floor because of engine moves back and forth when loaded?
Thank you guy!
What I've been having is barely moving out of a parking space, decent knocking with any movement. I know I need at least a passenger cv shaft. Should I drive all the way to NY from OH so you can fix it? lol
Well hopefully Hannah has fun working on people and doctors
Oh man I'm watching this video today 9/24/21 and I'm thinking Hannah is off to college today. Lol she's probably been a nurse a while ago
Thank you so much! You saved me a ton of money!
I've just had my suspension replaced with all the other related parts and it still clunkw when going over bumpy road surfaces. I'm thinking it could be a loose fender or the a bolt at the very top of the strut. But if the struts and shocks are all new it'd be a hell of a coincidence. Or it could also be a loose turn signal or radiator. The alignment was and is still off and the wheel is jerky to turn and is more difficult than usual. Or sometimes, it's too easy to turn. Steering fluid is all good.
I changed a set on my old 1995 Chevrolet truck and the swaybar link bolts were rotted out to almost a 1/3 of their original diameter, I was surprised they even held together being rusted so badly. That truck lived in North Carolina it's entire life, I can only imagine how they get up north with all the salt!
im guessing daughter…..
Good luck Hanna. You've been great! Thanks for sharing!
Great accent, Hi from France ๐
That sway bar bushing can it feel like car.jumps when go to the right
I found the source of my front end rumbling when I discovered a worn sway bar link when I was changing my brake pads. I believe mine was bouncing against the (hollow) lower control arm (not how close they are to each other in your video) & making loud noise. That is why the noise was louder than a worn sway bar link should normally make. At least it was a cheap fix.
I love how well you explain things.
will she be back
we want hanna back
Looks like the owner of that vehicle has been driving through fresh blacktop. Judging by the right wheel well
I put new sway bar links and ball joints on my daughter's 2011 GMC Terrian then put new struts and springs a couple day's later. About 1 week later she says the one of the struts is broke, So I take it for a ride and sure enough it sounds like a broken strut. Knowing both are brand new I'm guessing catastrophic failure on one of them. I pull it in lift it up start checking everything and BINGO, sway bar link was not tighten enough and came loose, So I tighten it again and test drive it and the noise is gone. I obviously did not tighten it enough when I installed it a week prior. The noise that little link made was extremely loud and if I had to bet on it prior to finding it I would have said a busted Strut or Spring. Great Video.
Goodbye Hanna! Best wishes for success and happiness ๐ข
Careful using that derogatory "Jap" lingo. If you use it, your kids will let it slip and get canceled out of school. The PC correct term is Japanese. Just FYI.
I have this noise that happens during small uneven roads and it sounds like a subtle bump on solid surfaces. My mechanic changed my suspension just to have that noise still there. (so pissed)
Got a 2015Dodge Charger, the sway bar links and bushings were bad,,,, Sounded like the front tires were falling off!!!
Another great video.
I have a horrible rattle in my Saturn vue
gotta luv that air compressor
I know you don't have to, but I usually recommend doing these in pairs. They're cheap and easy so no reason not to.
"Every frickin' time" hah
While at it with the "links" it's not much more work or cost to replace the bushings as well. They make a lot of noise too. Well done video.
Thank You!!!! Your video helped me so much! You're the bomb dude
I replaced the sway bar and upper control arm along the shucks and struts with axles and sway bushing also the bearing and hub and I still hear it
I saw this video just now and it was produced 3 years ago. Just realized Hanna was going to nursing school. Hope she mastered the material with flying colors and still remains inspired to do the job. God bless u, ur family and studies.
Complete new front and on the 2010 Honda Odyssey right front rattling sound over uneven pavement, road surface cracks, etc? No one can seem to find what it is not even a Honda dealer.
Yes, they always sound worse than they are. Even small wear translates to major noise on larger cars.
I'm getting a popping sound what usually make that sound??? Ford expedition 03???
Nurse- clean this wound! Sure thing doctor where is the Brake Clean?
Bye bye Hanna.
BYW she looks like your sister Eric.๐ฒ
The 'ball swivel' joint is called a 'Heim joint' in the USA or a 'Rose Joint' in the UK.
"I need to get rid of that compressor if it keeps interrupting" ๐
I find it funny when people describe the noise they are getting from the car , everyone has different way ๐
Goodbye, Hanna! Hope you have a great time being a nurse.
