I'm honestly surprised it's not ratcheting like a socket wrench so you don't have to remove it to continue loosening.

    Infomercial

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Wolff says:

    Infomercial – Rainman style!

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars trucker 101 says:

It is a nice filter wrench. Unfortunately it is not one size fits all. You have to buy a set of several to make sure you have a wrench for all filters. I have a filter wrench in my toolbox that fits all filters.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LORD, IT'S PROBING TIME 666 says:

Apart from all my own oil changes since I started driving 50 years ago I've worked as a lube operator/tune up guy and the probably most useful oil filter wrench I've ever owned is a (I think Kevlar) belt and a cam setup that works for damned near and size filter so I'm finding it hard to get remotely excited about this device which only has a slight work space advantage while losing a bit of leverage and while you have to have a set of these I can do any of those with mine. One other slight advantage is this one may grip and lock from where you fit it and mine may take a bit of pulling the belt really tight then start cranking and if very tight I may have to crank it about 10 degrees before it starts putting serious force to the filter. Sorry but I'm not excited about it, I'd be off looking at everything else there too.

    infomertial….interesting product

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Zajano says:

With regard to the JM3 display "SHALL" , "hold on till"??? You need to fix that display card/ I think the words you're looking for are "SHELL" and "hold until". Shoddy presentation doesn't inspire confidence in the product. Oh, and no need to hyphenate pit bull.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chuck Taylor says:

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars quietsignal says:

😂😂😂Ray must be getting a promo on that oil filter wrench. That is so wrong on so many obvious levels, $39😂😂😂

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dan Levesque says:

I was still looking and waiting for a Cartridge style oil wrench in that eye candy

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Legend Cox says:

just ordered one of those JM3 wrenches for my toyota so I don't have to use the strap.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jube Jubin says:

Hmm, nice to see such an array of stuff Ray. I'll stick with old fashioned steel strap filter wrench or the old bang a big ole screwdriver through the filter method😆

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim A says:

Nice vid. I am not sold on the new wrench

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bill Link says:

Some of these vendors might give you the floor samples so they don't have to take them home – you pay Freight.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Agent West says:

That "quarantine tent" looking thing with the yellow truck is an inflatable paint booth. Same idea as a bouncy castle, but unlike one of those i'd think a booth would have a way to stay inflated even with the fan off. Would hate for one to flop down onto a freshly painted car just because power went out for a couple minutes.
As for that wrench, what exactly makes it better than a regular oil wrench, explain it like i'm 5 lol

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Parsons says:

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Keith F. says:

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James says:

I also have hot parts, but YouTube keeps taking down my videos.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Damon Rowan says:

I like watching Ray and can't wait for the new shop! But the I think the oil filter wrench for every oil filter is really dumb. There are many universal designs that work just as well, are way more compact to fit in the tight areas that oil filters sometime are, and much less expensive. I can buy one or possibly two (small and large) universal filter wrenches versus buying a whole set of these.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Caleb Loux says:

Do the filter wrenches have a post Valvoline guarantee? They are always way too tight. If you work there please tell me why.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars mike93eh says:

Im not really sold on those oil filter wrenches…not gonna lie.

Next test for the filter wrench, send one to project farm channel for the intensive test/review!!

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chris M Smalley says:

So? Wait a minute? Mike G is saying the Teeth of the wrench smash a flat spot on the round filter to make a flat spot on the round surface by squeezing down and making a flat spot but only enough to make a flat spot with the teeth when they grip on the rounded surface but only just enough to make it flat? In that one spot? A flat where it was once round? I don't get it ? Round like a filter but Flat like the Earth? Bet Mike can't make a flat spot on the Lord's Firmament!! Filter crushing Satanist I bet? ….. hahahahaha..

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chuck Gross says:

Cool filter wrenches. Can't wait to see the videos start flowing in from your new shop! Enjoy SEMA!

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars wisecampmotorcycles says:

Them filter wrenches are a good idea, but, you need more than one, just like a socket set 😅

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Farmer says:

He needs to make a quick release for the large one, wedging a tool to release could be an issue in tight spots

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars houdini8o8 says:

its a cash and carry on the last day of sema when they dont want to pack it up and take it back with them!

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Apofis says:

i want to see a ray and rob dahm collab, i need it

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars M. D. says:

They look interesting for cars but I'm not sure about the heavy duty use case. A lot of cars put filters in odd places with little room ,the most troubling would be no vertical room (from the orientation of the filter). Most non specialized heavy duty applications don't have that issue. There is also the issue in that a car will maybe have a few ounces (weight) of oil in them whereas even most of the smallest heavy duty oil filters can hold pounds (that makes a big difference in friction on the threads since most heavy duty oil filters are mounted vertically to the ground, I also tend not to drain the filters before I loosen them since that weight and pressure pulls the filter away from the o-ring and helps keep the filter from crushing). More times than not, it takes a 1' to a 1.5' ratchet while holding on to something secure to take them off, something 90% of people could not replicate with just grip strength (this is usually not helped by human fallibility/worry, we overtighten filters to remove the possibility of wasting $400 of oil and a $20,000 engine (before labor)). Also, and no fault to him, he does need to sell his product, I have never had my filter strap slip due oil coating the filter in any meaningful/job stopping way. Most filter straps have a metal feed/locking component that the ratchet goes into that does the same thing as the teeth on this product (Matco Part No. OFS278 for a representation).

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Larry Collins says:

I really pray that you become successful with your new shop. You are a talented mechanic and have one very important quality on your side – that is morality. Over the years, I have watched you diagnose and perform repairs on customer’s vehicles. You don’t try to take advantage of your customers by recommending repairs or parts that are not justifiable. Keep up the great work, but give your new shop some time. By word of mouth from your customers, your shop will eventually grow!

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Pedro Equis says:

Ray, could those those storage tanks work in the back of your truck?

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joe Muncie says:

Good luck with the new shop!!! I wish I lived near you, I'm gonna be 70 soon and I just know that one day I won't be able to wrench on my cars. Very scary thought. Is Peter gonna work with you in the future?

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MJB says:

How things do change. Is this the next new mousetrap to remove an oil filter? Or will petroleum cars and trucks be outlawed first. Only the shadow knows!!

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars William Squires says:

Okay, but the tool for the smooth-walled oil filters has one glaring flaw; that extra bit will so easily get lost because it’s not attached somehow. That’s gonna end up with tool gravity (right into the oil recovery basin)! Or someone will forget they put it in their pocket, then spend hours looking for it. 😂🤣

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars D Hoop says:

Hey Ray I need a wrench for big truck filters

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don Shaw says:

Glad you're in such good spirits… Good seeing you at SEMA.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shunta Wolf says:

Looked like some killer stuff right up until there was a small part that will invariably get lost!!!!
They need to secure a filter into something and put a torque wrench on it (put a pipe over the handle or something with a socket welded on it) and show the torque generated as well as how long it takes to possibly rupture the filter…
They look interesting, but having to have a pile of them for every possible combination…. I'll pass …. They need a laminated chart so you'll be able to figure out which one you're needing ….
Stay on East Coast time for sleep, and you'll be waking up local time 3 or 4 in the morning and that's a great time to go to the casino's and be able to sit down and learn the games 🙂 Plus the strip is (should be anyway) empty and makes for great casual walking around 😀
Have fun Ray, Enjoy it out there… If you do decide to do any gambling, only bet with money you're willing to light on fire and never see again!!!!

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars shire transportation says:

    SEEMA CLICKS…….

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BattTube says:

Please dont tell me people were actually there watching that being welded without a helmet?

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ivansgarage says:

Cool on the new shop, and it already has lifts… can't wait

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Typing Dude says:

Dude, get back to fixing cars! Please!

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Pullar says:

I cant believe that open unshielded welding booth, staring at that welding arc for 30 seconds could cause permanent eye damage. As a 15 year old I learned to to weld with the old style welding screen on a stick welder and flashed myself each time I started the arc, next morning I couldn't see, I was effectively blind for 3 days.

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wired Performance says:

I personally have a couple vehicles so 3 different filters. I’m interested but $$ for 1 doesn’t justify the expense. However if I could pick 2 or 3 in a package deal now you earned a sale and I’m buying! I understand these are waaaaaay better than what I currently have. I can remove oil filters on lawn mowers to semis but it takes up a whole drawer. 3 (number for example only) take up the same space as 1 filter wrench making it more convenient and an expense I can justify. Maybe I’m the only guy who thinks like this. Nicely done video! I appreciate you taking a tour for me!

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ahoy there mate says:

Your like a kid in a candy store Ray lol good onya mate have fun there

  51. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars GrayWolf says:

A oil filter should not be that tight that it needs some kind of crazy filter wrench.

  52. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MikeyO says:

  53. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Enlightened News says:

  55. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dchirsch says:

Those Roth tanks are nice. I have had a 275 gallon one in my basement since 2005 for heating oil. Much better than the old-school tanks on legs that took up more space, and rusted.

  56. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Seaman says:

Just think Ray, if you were still working at your former employer you wouldn’t be at SEMA right now. Funny how things work out. Best wishes.

  57. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Rewijk says:

Well Ray , when you say you need it. We have to buy them too ! Even if I hardly use one. Can always sit down and just be looking at those nice tools. Greetz John.

  58. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sim says:

Oil wrenches seem gimmicky to me. Need to keep track of release tool for smooth filter, no thanks.

  59. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Darren says:

  73. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Liz Hanson says:

I'm a girl. At least last time I checked

  74. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Job38 Four says:

That oil filter wrench needs a place for a 3/8"-1/2" drive ratchet extension, it will be ok for someone with strong hands with enough room to get hands on it…..

My choice for 3"-4" oil filter is>>> (DEDC Adjustable Oil Filter Wrench), it easy on, easy grab in very small spaces, with 1/2" drive, all oil filters are coming off……

  75. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars George Washington says:

the need for changing oil is a myth created by mechanics. if manufacturers required you to change oil and filters, they would have made it easy to do.

  76. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ronny Dowdy says:
