Hello everybody! Good day to you! Welcome back to Raised Repairs Hey Look, it's our 17 Chevy silver BS pump. So uh, we're gonna thermal image this right now. We got 114 degrees on the pad 146 on the rotor. Let's check the other side let's see here 195 and uh oh, hang on there we go 161. That's well within specifications, well within spec and you guys said I didn't clip that on either. Yeah, you were wrong. Do you see I can see there you go. Brakes are fine, all is well. Thanks for watching. Have a good day, See you guys later And now for something completely unrelated to this follow-up video and to the footage that you're looking at right now it is Wednesday November 16th. It is about 8 15 p.m in about one hour. that's going to be 9 15 Eastern Standard time I'm going to be on Power Stroke Tech Talk live with A-Rod on his channel so head over to Power Stroke Tech talk with A-Rod We're going to be live streaming for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half I Hope to see you guys there.
Dear Ray. Could you please add subs in metric units?
loul
Just here again for the algorithm
UK time zone sorry can't make it.. i'll be asleep 🙂
Perhaps we could get a car service by public opinion? Be interested to see the work done by who votes the most for what needs doing.could be funny if the know it all types get the vote for unnecessary work !
I don't know why, but watching you work in such a calm manner is very relaxing. Also I'm loving watching you build your shop. Thank you for all your videos.
It was not the end of the abs wire. It was those plastic clips on the brackets you missed.
hatters got to hate
Never underestimate or second guess the Rainman . . there is a method to his madness and he will show you why you're wrong . .I've learned that after just a few videos. . ! 🙂
Bruh, why do you respond to the trolls…
They were 50 degrees apart. Hmmm
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
sirens in the back ground there coming to get you lol
I've never found a reason to question your work. Nicely done!
Upon further inspection it appears you failed to grease the spurving bearing.
Didn't see the link.
ReeeeeEEEEeeeeee3eeee3ee3rfeed3rmeee
You need to go to Home Depot & buy a bunch of 1/2" PVC schedule 40 pipe
and plumb your shop for air. You want air connections EVERYWHERE. DO
NOT use the thinner wall schedule 120 pipe.
!
You Da Man! thank you Ray. DVD:)
I didn't say you didn't put the abs wire back I was just asking if you did lol.
That muffler is on backwards.
Ray, don't worry about some of those snooty little negative comments that pop up. Some of the people that write them probably can't even change a flat tyre. You're doing well, really enjoying watching your shop come alive.
Stay down Ray , the popo sounds close
Is that your new exhaust.?? i hope the wife isn't watching lol🍺🍺
you never unclipped it i was wondering why you didn't unclip it and put it back
It must feel amazing to know so many people are rooting for your success 🙏❤️👍
several comments for the algorithm 😎

I knew that caliper was going to give problems when you had trouble compressing it. I've been there many times.
Fancy start to this video. Very cool!
Okay rainman for all you doubters out there pay attention! He does good work.!
Haters gonna hate Ray.
Can't go wrong with Gale Banks
Picture's never lie good job .And I like your intro logo.
New logo ?
Nice 👍
I ll be honest, i am jealous of the car owners who have access to you and your skills ,i wish i could have a mechanic like you .
That tech talk stream was weird. Left with question marks and a lapse of reason why i went to view. Should rephrase, went there due to recommendation, left with why did I struggle so much to find it and get so little satifaction.
Doodly doodly doo!
What I would like to know: What is the paint code for that truck? Hard to make out on video, but that looks like the same shade of blue my son and I recently saw on a local highway. We agreed that was probably our favorite shade to date.
We will be painting his car in the near future, and we're thinking we would like to replicate that color. Going through paint chips online, I think I've identified it as "Northsky Blue". But images on a screen can be deceiving. I'm curious if this silverado's paint code matches. Thinking I might order a sampler.
Hey Ray,
Been watching you for years. You’ve inspired my to tackle my own projects with my truck and car to keep them running. You’ve shown me that if you just keep your cool and take projects head on with stride, you can get it done. 👍👍
Why are you listening to anyone else and doubting your diagnosis at all ?
Thats insane bro dont doubt yourself ever and certainly dont pay any attention to the comments unless you feel they are warranted . then go check it out but certainly never give them trolls the satisfaction of thinking oh we got him thinking about it lmao cuz thats what they are doing you know laughing at you thinking he is so stupid hes looking because hes not sure of himself just saying bro dont ever let them think for one second your doubting what you diagnosed ! Ever ! Cuz they win the game that way it is a game after all and nothing more than that ! You are the man period and you make the calls and the repairs and have everything that they dont and they are in fact just jealous of your success which came from hard work and intelligence which apparently the trolls dont have or they are lazy and dont want to have to work for what they want in life but belittle others in thier endeavors instead. ! Trolls
I never doubt your expertise Ray. 👍👍
REEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee😂😂😂
Sweeeet!!!
I am glad to hear the sarcasm returning to your videos. It means you are getting back into the swing of things.
Sweet introduction!😊
I soo wish success in your new endeavor…. from Largo~! 👍
See you later
if it's good why were Sirens going off…
Not into stinky Diesels! …..otherwise party on Ray!
Did you figure out your light bulb problem?
Got a name for the shop yet Ray?
Perfect intro sir! I approve…NJ!
People are quick to point out things they think you miss when every little detail isnt shown for them ! lol Anyone can tell your a thorough mechanic and cover all your bases .
99% of the time one corner overheating or sticking etc is caliper pistons sticking in the bore or an internally collapsed brake hose. Don’t know why you fucks would assume it was an ABS unit. Especially when if you watched the initial repair the LF was extremely difficult to compress. To be fair our good friend ray should have caught that; however, he’s a man trying to get through his first couple repairs before officially open shop while babysitting his kids and setting up his shop. He’s allowed to make mistakes.
Whenever you're doing a thermal image of brake rotors, keep the crosshairs on the rusty portion of the rotor. If you put it on the shiny area, it will be inaccurate because shiny metal reflects IR energy much more than rusty metal acting like a mirror to give you a partial reflection of the wheel or outside temperatures. To verify this, image a hot rotor. Look at the indicated temperature difference between the shiny area and the rusty area. They're the same temperature but the rusty area emits more IR energy to your camera.
Double sirens – they're coming for you Ray!
I checked out the PowerStroke tech talk live video.. To me, boring. I’d rather watch Ray spray brake cleaner on some dripping oil and hear some of his jovial comments. Just saying.. Also, just my opinion.
I was a mechanic 34 years I like watching Ray because being retired it reminds me of how the struggle is real right on down to losing several 10mm sockets every year 😂
I understand you don’t show every bolt or clip when you edit your videos. You don’t show us when you take a bathroom break, I assume you do and I’ll give you enough credit that I’m not going to call you out for not wiping your butt.
Backseat viewers, will you ever learn? Stop questioning Ray. You're just going to look a fool. Do better.
Welcome to private shop ownership ray im so excited u now get to experience what my last 10 years has been like. Wouldnt trade it for anything else. Ull experience pride like uve never experienced before
R³ Automotive for the win! Couldn't be happier for you!
Whooooo cares
Looks like we finally get to hear the new exhaust on your truck😁👍
ABS Pump? What kinda crack head suggestion is that?!
Speaking of nothing crazy, don't forget to ensure you have a very good accountant. They can save you a fortune and their advice can save your business.
It is better to be quiet and be thought of as a fool then to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt
Hey Ray I think that's the truck you were doing that I saw something fall off the right front brake when you were doing it if you look at the video when you're pulling the caliper off something at the bottom left hand corner falls. I don't know maybe you picked it up whatever it was 🤔🙃 hell maybe I'm seeing stuff. 🙄😁👍🙏
Reee
To last unless its the motor for the know it alls
Fit that Banks under the truck thanks for the video Ray take care of yourself and family ❤️❤️👍.
To add to my last comment for the know it alls every abs pump ive ever seen go bad in the last 30yrs u lost brakes like a bad master cylinder. Drive u crazy because they wont throw a code . U have to get into the pump itself to figure it out.
Ray, that's a big temp difference from left to right side.
I'd look at something not releasing .
And you're wearing your hat wrong. How many uses do you get from your undershorts? I get four.
never seen an abs pump fail in a way that would cause calipers to overheat. its more likely the hose collapsed and didn't allow brake fluid to return.
Roger, over.
I’m so happy to see Ray back in his element. Good for all of us
Get the half brains told Ray
🤣🤣🤣
Everyone's an expert sitting on their butt's.
I will trust the professional who is actually doing the job.
Keep up the excellent work 👏 👍 👌
RRR on the stick. Wish they labeled the 'racing gear' better 😀
Man I truly enjoy your channel. Found you by your FIRED video. But I’ve watched numerous since then. I watch your older ones daily. I’m waiting for the Dooo dooo deee doos in new shop. Lol. Best luck to ya. Hope you kill it with new shop.
Is anybody else enjoying the fact that we don't have to listen to that dang phone ringing off the hook at his old job? 📞📞📞📞
nah, it didn't need an ABS pump, it's nearly impossible to miss the symptoms and those weren't it.
As a mechanic I like to read the comments. I can tell very quickly who pulls wrenches for a living and who does not.
Do people in Florida need to have there car inspected once a year ?
keep up the good work brother new shop looking kick ass
Thank you for not saying the "M" word. Right up there with the waiter asking "Would you like guac?" – Would I like what?
Freaking crybaby
I just bought a '93 Ford F150. Took the longbed off myself, changed the fuel pumps, cleaned the tanks, fixed all the chingaderas broken, had my neighbor, his two workers and his forklift to re-install the bed, all in two weeks… You'd have done that in a day or two. Goddamn I'm glad I'm a barber and not a mechanic!
Trolling isn't productive, if I can add something based on my expertise (50 year toolmaker) I will.
I will never criticize a mechanic, or a cabinet maker, two things I dabble in, because I will always defer to the experts.
Not wanting to look like an ass, after all.
I like watching your videos my friend Ray I have been watching your videos for years.
I turned of my truck the other day and I said powering down like Ray does 👍😎
Dont they realize youre making a video and tryimg not to make it yo long and you have to actually work instead of record every tidbit. You've done this long enough to know to ignore the know it alls. 🤣 keep on trucking dude.
You still used an impact gun on the lug nuts, like some idiot.
we are all announcement
Why do the comments bother you ? Forget these trolls !
I really enjoy your work man. You are an inspiration to my teenage kid. He want's to open his own shop up someday. Keep up the great content!
Not sure why anyone would think an ABS pump is necessary. Those GM truck calipers seize up all the time. Phenolic pistons absorb moisture from the air and swell up. It only takes a few thou to make them not push in. From my experience, any time one of those pushes in hard it's time for a new caliper (or new pistons, anyway.)
