Nevertheless your welding skills and luck are both far better than mine.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wizard Ace says:

its going to rust out in a year

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J von says:

I love your videos but that was just sad

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hellfire Enclave says:

Alot of hybrids use 410 stainless witch is magnetic

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars AL M says:

That was painful, but you got 'er done! I've done things like this and would have gone to my scrap pile and found a piece of 3/8 rod and welded to the clamp and made a whole new hanger (before putting it on the pipe). 10 minutes tops.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kenn Hughs says:

    Kinda good Shade Tree job.
Just a Reminder, there are many types of Bolt On Exhaust Hanger fitments, that are available…

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bradley Waite says:

for not having shield gas those welds are decent enough

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Esuper1 says:

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said you don't know how to weld. But listen, you did a good job for what was needed. I am sure that frankenstein contraption will last long enough for the catalytic thieving bastards to come around and then they can just put a new one on.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars x yuda x says:

Going back and forth on if I want to pursue a mechanic career, the dealership I work at offers school for it. At the same time there’s better jobs.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars bw says:

Just take a couple of your off days and practice, but you absolutely can weld sst to mild steel and it normally comes out real pretty but fit makes a big difference

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars steve goering says:

you are one of the most honest mechanics I have ever met….they are few and far between…

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesse Christensen says:

Hey still a better welder than a lot "tool restoration" content creators!

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Everhart says:

FYI next time grind it clean then clean each time you hit it with flux wire. Flux is just like stick it leaves behind slag. I went to school for welding learning all 3 tig, mig and stick. And the finished product looks like an M16 Front Sight.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TacoBag charlie says:

I actually weld for a living on industrial equiptment. My biggest ree was you welding with no glove and short sleeves. 😂 got many burns that way. Nice job though. It aint gotta always be pretty but it needs to work and it needs to be strong and you checked those boxes

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hola! Tim S says:

Glad you were able to make the repair, but any competent muffler shop could have welded that factory bracket back on in 10 mins or less. Personally I would rather have a shop tell me if something would be better handled by someone else than to cobble something together that took way longer than it should have and frankly does not work as well.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark says:

Why did I pay 19.99 for something that was 9.99? Thanks commission earned. Smh

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kenny Scott says:

Hey there are YouTube videos on how to weld the right way you go check some of the out 😂

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Billy Davidson says:

That was very cool of you to help the customer save money sir. Very cool 😎

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Sinclair says:

A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dknight211 says:

If I had this problem on my own car, I’d probably run some stainless steel zip ties around the exhaust to the hanger and call it a day 😂

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars lchatham says:

You gotta get that metal clean before you start and between passes, chipping hammer and wire brush, learn it, live it, love it ! Thanks again for the awesome vidgeya!

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tony Weir says:

Cleaning the metal before welding would give you a much nicer weld!

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Average User says:

That was such a ghetto repair. It worked tho.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Scheuer says:

    Well done!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TheAstrocreeper says:

You've done the shade tree mechanics proud. The paint was a nice luxury.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars thatcheeseguy says:

you left the booger up there on purpose lmao

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ed Chenal says:

    It works but…….

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jammer1 says:

you should cleaned the old wield first then it should wielded right together !

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John's Technical Channel says:

    Prius 🤮

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Greg Stenslokken says:

Sorry Ray, really should have been sent to a welder that could weld stainless. It worked, good on you but future fixers will wonder what the hell happened. First video I ever cringed at. But I will continue to watch your channel, never miss a video.

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rationalguy says:

There's holes in that bracket, clearly made for baling wire. (Or a wire coat hanger)

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Vicariously Famous says:

Like the metal music during the cutting. Try slipknot or tool next time. Just add name if band and disclaimer line abd you should be fine to use the music.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ross McWatters says:

Step away from the saws-all and welders….. everyone has their strengths and weaknesses …. we now know Rays Kryptonite…😄

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars paul davies says:

What a silly design why didn't they use a U clamp on the exhaust to the hanger bracket I bet any rust will go to the that area and rot it

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars D3athAng3l1977 says:

does it look fine? no. it works? yes… well done

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ss010101 says:

    It's hideous! I like it.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars hondadream 1 says:

On the next hold my beer watch this weld 😆

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dan Sune Kronvold says:

Yes. I enjoyed this video of ingenuity and rays of bright light.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Timmy Bob says:

I hope you are happy, Ray! Mr. Melnick, my 11th grade welding and fabrication teacher tragically took his own life while watching this video! Expect a visit from the authorities! 🤣😂🤣

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rick Reynolds Adventures says:

Rainman Ray the fabricator! 5 stars review, I would have tried to hose clamp it somehow but that would have failed pretty quick.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars CC Lee says:

WOW, THAT MUFFLER BRACKET ADVENTURE SHOWS YOU HAVE IMPRESSIVE MANUFACTURING SKILLS. Therefore the state of California would insist that you purchase a special manufacturing license to go along with your permissions and fees for working on car repairs in general…. Yay Florida?

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tim Warneford says:

J ray use gloves at lest were that wedding ring is..one spark and mate, you have barbiqued finger…look you try good on you…

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thrillhunter says:

would have broke again if you didnt add the second bolt for triangulation nice job

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Christopherson says:

Well I think you are better at welding than you are at fixing cars, ya kinda suck at both 🙂 just kidding great idea, I think I would of just used an old style hanger.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars luis Nunez says:

Was that a crack I saw on the rocker panel?

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ezequiel cordero says:

Nice save. Reduced their cost to minimum

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Knox says:

that is ss ya need 304 wire with argon mix with co2, we call you the Dober now

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BurkaLifter says:

No comment on the welding, but for me, anytme I have the wiper arm away from glass and doing shit, I have a folded up packing blanket under ther in case the bare arm, and all it's potential anger, slaps against the glass without the blade to make the outburst meaningless

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars gulf city nicholas danca says:

It may be ugly but it will hold

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Thrillhunter says:

I am a welder and that is typ 430 magnetic stainless steel. its way cheaper than normal stainless. it lasts way longer than steel. typ 304 is normal stainless and typ 316 is marine grade.

  51. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ericspecullaas says:

Ray if it works it ain't stupid

  52. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars gudenau says:

I'm pretty sure there are a couple of stainless steel alloys that are still magnetic, I'm no expert though.

  53. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joseph King says:

A wise man called Scott (Vehcor) once said, An angle grinder and some paint make me the welder that I ain't. Unless you are someone like Isaac (IC Weld) you do what works for the customer and gives them the best ROI and that you did. 👍👍
