Those 3.7 engines are garbage, in fact all the jeep engines are garbage. Wouldn't waste my money on any jeep or Chrysler vehicle. Crap cars.
Every pig deserves a little lipstick.
As soon as you said, Jeep Patriot, I thought "Oh, no. This is not goìng to go well!"
Loud noise, Ray!
ONE QUESTION.. Why didn't you check all of the plugs and or use to borpscpe before installing the new coil? Ya coulda saved the customer from wasting $$$.
Not a real Jeep !!!
Ford owner did 6000 rpm dump. Probably has a broken axle too. You can tell by looking at the tires. Rubber boogers all over and that's confirmed.
At least it's good to know that the coolant is well lubricated in that jeep
After all it is a Fiat/Cheep = junk
I seen a similar situation at a dealership that I Used to work at after replacing a clutch in a 1986 jeep Comanche the transmission Grenaded not knowing what caused this being that there was nothing wrong with the clutch. when we went to back it out the tires turned about one turn. We removed the diff cover and found that the spider gears, pin and ring and pinion were all broke. Why we were able to push it in with no problem or noise is anybody guess
The one thing you never want to hear from a mechanic and a doctor, “Uh Oh”!!
Remove thermostat and flush out entire system Useing dawn dish soap ! Repete flush then replace coolent fluid witn water too see if the oil comes back !
bad transmission cooler could do the same thing. pressure from transmission would be higher than cooling system. so it will keep pushing trans fluid into the cooling system when the car is running
What a shitbox! 🤮
The owner must hate his car!!
Jeeps are garbage 🗑
Why not drain the coolant and refill it from scratch. Then see if the sludge shows up again.
After further review of the vehicle, execution of the manufacturer is highly recommended.
It looks like the f150 owner was dropping the clutch and spinning tires
Way to clean for that many miles. It has been washed.
Another great job Ray. You have no idea how many people would love to have. You as my next door neighbor Simple one of the best. 🇺🇸💙🇺🇸🚔 Keep up the great work Ray. God bless you and your family !!! 😁👍😊
Looks like someone tried to drag race that ford.
That F150 has had a hard life
Why didn’t you check compression ?
Love your view on standards.. keep up the great work bud..
When your Liberty starts sounding like a diesel at idle, time to scrap it.
That ford looks like a classic “hey dudes i just got a new clutch, shut up hold my beer and watch this” scenario….
Ray why didn't you block test it?
i had a 88 7.3 idi and it had the same sludge , turnd out to be the oil cooler failed . no water in the oil cause it is higher pressure than the rad … cost lots of coin to replace the cooler an flush out everything . great vid , thanks
U-Joint cup locks up yoke on the diff end. Simultaneously, the shaft twists, and thrashes the transmission just before breaking off. When the trans gets yanked by the shaft, it breaks the bell housing and yeets the starter. That's my theory on the truck.
It would have been fun to dump two cans of head gasket in a can. Or refer them to Project Farm.
That engine was just making gravy for the meal it's about to eat.
Clicks must stay. All clicks all the time.
Love your content, keep it coming. "click"
Stellantis quality control – Dodge testing. RAM into production.
ALL good mechanics and parts slingers will tell you to put dielectric grease on everything with electrical connectors
how about adding a new word to your vocabulary? when you say you doing your hood opening procedure. you can shorten it by saying : time to do the hop, ( short for hood opening procedure)
with the amount of declined repairs how does the shop make any money, obviously must charge a diagnostic fee ,but still
"I don't know what to tell them"
Tell them it's time to buy another beater.
Gotta say this one kinda bugged me a little bit. Why put a new coil on there when there's freaking oil in the coolant??! Isn't oil in the coolant more of a concern than a bad coil? I hope the customer got compensated back for that coil that was unnecessary to put in.
cheaper to replace the engine then buy a new car
great job!
We are in a drought in California.
Glad to see Florida isn't.
I thought the orange goo in the thumbnail pic was a joke…….wow
What was all of that liquid dripping down the dash from the center hvac vents???
This whole video was like “hold up, I got to figure out exactly how screwed up this thing is“
So an undiagnosed water pump leak slowly over heated the engine over the course of months/years? Thst possible
Milkshake mode. It’s a steaming pile. Off to the press with you! JEEP: Junk Each and Every Part.
got to hot broke a ring landing
blown head gasket, learnt that when 16.. oil, head gasket,,bubbles, head gasket.. please send $300. for diag..
Some of the debris in the cylinder was likely from the spark plug cavity/ It was full of similar looking junk.
How many of these broken car do you think get sold as is after guys like you tell the bad news. Do you note the information in some kind of database?
Ngk plugs stand for Not Going to Knock 😉
Monsoon season. Great job. Rest in pieces ford.
Sorry if this sounds offensive or is a silly question, but do you have a tick/OCD when the phone rings? I've noticed in every video you will make a noise when the phone rings.
Having said that, love the video, great content as always.
In 2002 I bought a new 2002 Chevy Malibu. In 2011 at 29,000 miles, I started getting a small amount of milkshake in the rad fluid (car was properly maintained, no accidents or incidents).
Talked to the dealer; cost to fix $2500. Value of the car, as is, $2500.
I went shopping and bought a 2011 Ford Focus. Never buying another GM car.
it looks like something was leaking out of the vents in the dash lol
What a POS. If you want to piss a mechanic off, just bring your car to the shop on empty.
and then the customer sells it to some sucker
as Ray loosened the radiator cap, I expected to hear….Do not try this at home…I am a professional.
Why can't people understand that sometimes your vehicle needs to be run by the technician? Either for a test drive to find/understand an issue, to get fluids running through the system, or just to visually check on what is running? Leave enough fuel in the vehicle people. Shops should require at least 1/4 tank of fuel in the vehicle before it is left. Unless the issue is a leaking fuel tank.
Found it
I bet it is refrigerant. You didn’t say they were separate. Possibly power steering fluid on dot4 fluid. I’ll see my self out.
I wanted to say they put the name of the problem on the hood. Whoops looks like I just did. Just kidding poor Jeep. Died too young.
Ray please be careful opening a hot radiator cap. Scalding hot coolant can blow up in your face and burn you. Ask me how I already know that 🤣
Spent more time on it than I would have! But it’s always good to have root cause analysis.
No coolers in rad bad news for owners
One of the best vehicles Ford makes, the old F-Onehundredandfifty. That one seems to be in great condition.
American cars are pure JUNK!
Ray please god tell me how to make that suction device because I know you retrofitted a harbor freight vacuum and I have the same one.
Oil cooler in rad. Bad. Or trans cooler bad. Pressure difference coolers in rad. Leaking in radiator but not in engine or trans . I have seen it
👎👎👎Horrible shaky camera👎👎👎
A super clean spark plug could also be getting steam cleaned by coolant getting in from a cracked head. Ask me how I know. Sorry I wrote this comment about 2 minutes before you said cracked head.
Please get a camera mount for your head and STOP ! holding it in your hand.
Hi Ray. Just want to thank you for what you do. The past couple of years I have fought Cancer twice and spent a great deal of time down and out and your channel made me laugh sometimes when I really needed it. Your way of presenting the videos is brilliant. I know you get some ugly comments so I hope this one finds you well. Keep up the good work. PS..Up here in Canada those wobbly bits wouldn't even be in the equation 🙂
💄🐷 send them both to the junk yard 🐷💄
Those engines are junk anyway.
Patriot?
That's it for sure — End of Jeep — send that one to the retirement home.
Ray to much background noise do something about it plz
Your troubleshooting expertise is astonishing.
High jumping the monster truck?
I saw you try to pour coffee with milk inside the radiator 😮😮😮
The transmission bell housing crack , my god😮😮😮
This was a good video, I loved the troubleshooting sequence. I kind of figured it was done when I saw the coolant.
That POS needs needs new gaskets
A 3.7 magnum overheating? Surprise, surprise. Lol
I love the idea that this guy was driving along and then the driveshaft snapped and polevaulted the vehicle down the road.
I love these videos so much thank you RAY
I don't really do radiator job only take it to the shop may replace one but none of that but as soon as Ray open the radiator cap I knew the car is (sailor mouth)
I saw the problem right away. It has "Jeep" on the steering wheel.
Why in the hell did you waste all the time diagnosing this. All you had to do was check the oil to see if it was milky?
I had a 99 T&C and had a similar problem. The heater would rust and spread that all over the system.
There’s nothing patriotic about that.
Well putting cold water in a hot engine can crack the block. That is not helping.
is it okay to just like….spray water over all the electronics like the battery in the engine compartment?
I see two main issues. Chrysler….Patriot. There you go easy puzzle. Lucky to get 100k miles. Call it a day .
i'm thinking they went full send on that pickup and it broke.
