In this video I prove why it pays to slow down and look at your data, gather the clues, plan the work and work the plan. I see it all to often where other shops "do the fuses," "do the grounds" and "do the relays," with no real direction. If you don't have a trail to follow it is just guessing. -Enjoy!

I'm not a professional, but like to learn and apply knowledge.
    TIA

So what was the problem, a bad ground? I don't really understand electronics. Was just one cylinder affected or several? Good video, I don't fully understand it!

One shot, in the pot! Nice work, Mrs.O! 🤣👍 On another note, I have the SnapOn version of that mini pry bar, and I just used it to leverage a large transfer case snap ring out, and I doubt the homemade one would be nearly as strong, but for light prying it's probably fine.

I just picked up my 2015 Toyota RAV4 from dealership after they told me they cannot fix it and charged me nearly $947 in service (includes new battery). Some days, the engine will crank but not turn over and start. So far, the dealership has replaced the battery and ordered fuel pump from Texas. After doing tests they said it's not fuel pump and suspect it's ECU but they're not sure. Told me to get CAA and keep driving it and pray the problem goes away. The no start problem has happened 6 times so far on different days, car only has 99000km on it. This video was informative, I'll keep an eye for when the problem happens again.

Nice dog, would you want a Shepard that wasn’t a little protective? Sharing a story.. I was looking after my sisters family Shepard, looked like the one you have. It was a family pet, and that dog was low on the pecking order in her house. The Shepard was at my house for a couple of weeks, really just benign, friendly and well mannered. Dog took commands well and I as starting to enjoy the company.
A week or so into the visit the dog quietly came into my room at 3 am, unusual and I checked if the dog was feeling ill or needed to go out.. let it out , no bathroom. Check if water was good, no problem. Go lie down Bart, he did but something was wrong. An hour later he came back to my room, an nudged me with his snout,, got me out of bed and directed me to the back of the house,, looked out towards the shop and quietly growled ? I sat an watched for awhile, and sure enough someone , slinked in from the back andwas working the door on my shop. Set Bart out and told him to get em…. prowler left. Bart sat and watched the shop from the back window for the rest of the night. I have great respect for a nice German Shepard, a little protective is good. Oh.. my golden retriever snored through the entire event.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MB says:

Damn this knowledge is so valuable, dude had it towed to two different shops, paid for that and labor to "do all the grounds and fuses" and my guy came in and wouldve had him driving again in 5 minutes lol crazy, also this is the life, fast and furious style, where you own a garage, and your family works out of said garage its awesome

Easy on Scotty. Young folks need to respect your elders. Remember you guys are on the same team. Toyota makes a superior product. Folks in rural New York need to take better care of their autos.

2005 Toyota Camry cranks no start, I’ve changed the camshaft position sensor twice, the fuel pump sending unit, and the throttle body all within a month the car still won’t start regularly if anyone has a suggestion lmk

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars oseni oreoluwa says:

SMA nice video there I'm a big fan, but I would like you to answer my question pls, in this situation, would the car give injuctor pulse? And would signal from PCM get to the coil at the same time…

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RAEL says:

Working on autos is not easy. My cars are so reliable and run so long that when something does come up…it's been months or years since I had to fix something on them. My old cars were simple and needed work at regular intervals….so you always had a hand in…literally. But these modern cars are so reliable, it's hard to get experienced unless you are someone like Eric O. One time I was going up a very steep hill and the engine suddenly ran very rough…..I mean VERY rough. It was a VERY steep hill on a very busy road….very dangerous to stop in the lane at that spot….so I gave er the gas and tried to keep going. To my surprise it kept going right on up the hill and I made it home. I read about it online…not really knowing what angle to approach it from. The car had 80,000 miles at that point. Someone suggested the coils might be bad. It wasn't easy getting to the coils….some disassembly required…so I replaced all three while I was in there. Bada bing, that was it. I got lucky. One coil had gone bad taking out two out of six cylinders. Ran right up the hill on the remaining four cylinders. Imagine that. The car ran another 120,000 miles without a hiccup. See what I mean?

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RAEL says:

Took less than 9 minutes to find that? Amazing.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RAEL says:

One time I drove my car into a gas station and filled er up. Got in and……crank but no start. Strong smell of gas. Turns out the fuel pressure regulator decided that was the right time to rupture. Out of the blue.

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SF 415 says:

I really love your electrical diag. Videos. Very thorough and to the point.
