So I'm in the middle of this tear down on this uh Frontier and I went ahead and sold some sway bar links on it because the bushings are all dry rotted and cracked and nasty. So I'm going to do uh links and bushings on the thing. Plus these ones are oil soaked and nasty. But I can't get this thing apart.
So I need to escalate this thing to pneumatic linear impact driving Yeah! I tried to be nice and now I have to choose violence. All right now it's going yeah. You lose Sway Bar link, You lose.
Torch is much faster .
why aren't you showing how to readjust cam bolts on rear tires
I choose violence! Always!🤘😎🤘
I prefer just to cut the sway bar end links, do not even attempt to disassemble.
And they say violence isn't the answer or violence doesn't solve anything.
Me like Ray using violence. Give pieces a chance.
You lose sway bar links😂
I have a 2008 frontier 4×2 can you tell me how many miles was on this vehicle when you did the repair?
Like we say at the dealer, " you sold it,you fight it" 😅. My boy sold subframe bushings and every bolt snapped inside the unibody 😢
Umm….. Swaaay Bar link gravity.
Way too munch corrosion on these Florida vehicles. I'd have to move to CenTex. Now I remember, did just that 45 yrs ago. No regrets.
Use your flat hammer on the bolt heat, less chance of sending the chisel or end of the bolt into the cv boot
When Diplomacy Fails There's Only One Alternative. Violence
"If violence isn't the answer, acetylene is. Can't be rusted on if it's liquid!"
I heard those words of wisdom from my sister when she was trying to get a seized bolt free from the undercarriage of her in-laws neglected vehicle. After banging her knuckles because the nut and bolt were already rounded over, applying penetrant, then banging her knuckles again when the vise grips let go… Out comes the cutting torch. (Mind you, it's Ohio, so in addition to the busted knuckles, it was hovering above freezing, had just started to rain again, and her workspace was a gravel driveway. If the acetylene hadn't worked, I'm pretty sure the sheer amount of bad language directed at the offending fastener would have done the trick.)
"you looooose sway bar link, you lose" 😂😂😂
Rays money every time!
Violence matters!
You couldn't remove the nut from the bottom ?
Heat buddy
That’s a staple tool here in Ohio lol
It appears tires are needed as well. 😲
that link looked fine🤷♂️ the more content I see from this guy the more I find out, the lack of experience
The rare times the violence option doesn't work. The final resort is the "hot wrench" (cutting torch)
Ha! So satisfying.
…you still had options,
fire, saws-all.
Lol i love violence lol
Didn’t have to kick that link while he was down man, I’m pretty sure he knew he was doomed from the beginning
If you’re not fixing the oil leak, then the new bushings will be oil soaked as well.
Violent? I saw no grinder to cut the head off the bolt or burner to melt the crap out of it, you may as well as tickled it's balls with the hammer gun!!! 😆 🤣 😂
Two best tools I have, apart from the usual impact wrenches etc, are the de-scaler (needle gun) and the air chisel. I work on Landrovers .. 😉
Violence the cause of and solution to so many problems.
“Despite What Your Mother Told You – Violence Does Solve Problems”
Oh that's nasty!
A Chisel and a Big Hammer 🔨 solve most problems RAY HA HA 👨🏻🦳♿️🇬🇧🛠️😂😂👍
When you try to be diplomatic like Captain Picard but then have to get violent like Captain Kirk to get things done.
Lahoo.. zaher..
Corroded sleeve between the upper and lower.
That tool made quick work of getting it apart.
You would have had to drive the center bolt downward without that idea.
Stabilizer links are a source of all kinds of strange and hard to find noises.
Especially since the designs have changed.
A car can look new and nice and well kept but a customer may act like it's haunted or something and 3 other techs may not find anything.
That's when guys like Ray can look for the powdery rust developing and say, what about that?
I had luxury cars with low miles to fix once in a while.
They do a lot of shields and covers that hide the fact that a part reacts to moisture in a short time, even when new.
Warranty won't allow time to figure out the definite cause.
But you have to give it the time it requires, or you have to give it back to them without a fix.
You take pride in your abilities.
When you find it, nobody understands.
Then you have it fighting you to get at it.
You buy tools alot of people wouldn't because you have the intensity and tenacity.
Then
18 minutes of your labor gets covered.
Lucky bastard.
Outstanding Ray
Hammer time
3.3L…hats off to you…being a nissan tech…i avoid them lmao
I always cut the head off the bolt. But your way works too. It was barely rusted on.
When the sway bar bolt identifies as a toothpick, you treat it like a piece of food stick in your teeth.
Violence has it places. Yet if you tried that with Wife Unit I got money on her kicking your ass.
I had to do the same to my idle sway arm bushing on my grand marquis about a month ago it works like a charm
Nothing wrong with those sway bar links.
Recommend new tires.
Always choose violence, gets the job done
That's pretty interesting. Worked well, and quickly.
