All that electronic gadgetry in there looks like it was developed to interface with the brain chip that will soon be going into our heads.
I’m from Canada, that isn’t even cold enough to warrant long pants. An ice scrapper helps clear windows…
One more reason why I don't own a dodge.
Guys, this is historic! The moment Ray pulled that drain plug, he discovered a new component called The Spray Bar!
Your wiper blades just love to scrape over ice. It makes them last really long 🤣
😆 🤣 use the defroster.
It said hi fructose corn syrup.
Come to Streeter IL when it’s -12 outside. We can go sledding
Snake oil
Credit cards work as ice scrapers in a pinch. Use the side that doesn't go thru the machine though. 😆
As northeast u buy a scraper and u don’t use the washing fluid as that would freeze too.
I live in South Dakota….I am just putting on my winter coat at 32 degrees!
OMG, I'm cringing at your wiper blade use in cold weather.
I've been watching and I think I've watched almost all of your videos . I love all of them But this time you scared me when I thought you extended the mirror out before you backed it up past the lift. I could definitely see that happening very easily. Yikes! Has it happened before? I can keep a secret.
You should know that closer to sun up the temperature drops rather than going up…
Don't forget to use the defroster option. ,,,, 🤣
Heck yeah that’s awesome, a Nc shout out. Garner, Nc is like 2-3hrs away from me
I too own a disel and am located in Dallas Texas but have to add non freezing products to the gas tank in order to keeo the fuel from gelling.
Use your Canadian Tire credit card for a scraper. Also that's not a cold start, it's not even freezing
That big nator is a motor/alternator and lithium batteries which is a cheaper hybrid and provides short bursts of extra power for the engine. This thing will be a mechanics nightmare if it goes kaput.
Advice from the north. A credit card will pass as an ice scraper in a pinch.
Cap less fuel systems cuz they weren't happy just fucking up gas cans.
Yer block heater on a timer sure helps speed defrosting, set it about 2 hours before you go to work when cold weather is on the way.
I always put new oil on the seal
Where is your ice scraper?
The weather is abnormal, world-wide.
That would not happen to your oil filter after you use a oil filter wrench instead of a pair of oil filter pliers but you still make amazing videos and you're an amazing mechanic thanks for the content
Un-dialuted screen wash in a kitchen spray gun to de-ice screen, 3:1 diluted in the screen wash bottle, add dish soap to cut grease and remove bugs. On a bad morning 6 pint milk carton with hand hot water from the tap (faucet) douche the screens and mirrors its cheap.
I founded out if you turn on defroster on high will warming up engine that I did in Kansas for 3 years.
Cold
During last months cold snap I actually had to warm up my car for 15 minutes to get the ice off it.
Here in Oz, in similar cold areas, I used to leave Newspaper on the windscreen overnight, to stop the ice forming. Also used to carry a large container of water in the Boot (Trunk). In an emergency No. 1s also work! 😉
The E-Torque thing looks like Chrysler’s BSG (Belt Start Generator) unit. Basically a 48v+ system that can be used to start the car or add extra torque at specific times.
Ray, you're a great mechanic, and also king in spoiling liquids… And for de-icing you need de-icer and a scraper..
They should make engineers do basic maintenance on these vehicles they design. I mean the oil drain plug is 2” from and pointing directly at the sway bar. There’s no way they could have moved it to the left or right side or even directly below the center of the oil pan?
I live just 20 miles from Garner NC. Do they really still have classes like their auto tech? I believe that’s when public education started downhill. When they started eliminating all the shop classes. Look you can make an easy six figures as a welder with no student loan debt. Now you get out of 4 years of leftist indoctrination with a liberal arts degree and 200K of debt and can’t get a job.
Brake cleaner is also good for killing wasps! Spray them with this when they're about five feet high and they will be dead before they hit the floor!
Hey, I was curious if catching the old dripping oil could also introduce contaminants to the new filter, or if it's just the drain pan itself that was the issue.
Love watching your video to help me growing own diagnostic techniques. And I love seeing your sense of humour at the inevitable "reeeee"s that appear.
Those FCA engineers 😑
That's the high temp for me
30 is balmy a day here, let me know its -40 outside and your turning wrenches lol. Thanks for the content.
Will you be making a video on the 6.0L Sonoma? Sounds insane
No ice scrapers in florida…lol…here in Michigan there plentiful….lol.. curious do u recommend doing this flush…196,900 miles.change it every 5,000 miles.. never used flush…hate to hurt my motor…just common chevy lifter tick on cold start up…
I'm sorry but I came across this video this morning and I looked out yesterday morning I had three inches of snow and two inches of ice on my windshield I'm in Eastern Canada it's been minus 38 Celsius, the last few days
I’m from Minnesota, hilarious to see Floridians in winter distress. 31 is shorts weather for many here. Also a credit card would have done wonders for your ice up. As a guy who has worked on stuff most of my life I really appreciate your videos. You remind me of a good friend of mine growing up. He has owned his own shop for the last 19 years or so. Good stuff 👍🏻
I put the oil filter or oil (only works if you buy jugs of oil) on the driver's seat so I see it when I go to start it. I started doing this after forgetting to install the filter on my truck. I was doing power steering work and thought "I'll leave the filter off for now so I have more room to work on the power steering". I had already filled it with oil, but then I forgot to install the filter and started it. When the oil pressure didn't come up after a few seconds I shut it off to investigate. Turns out a Melling HVHP oil pump can pump about 6 quarts of $10/qt synthetic oil out onto the ground in just a couple seconds.
Under the weather and I have sequestered myself in the bedroom. I am binging your vids. As a Californian who takes the occasional trip to the high mountains near Yosemite, I’ve learned that half a cup of rubbing alcohol per gallon of washer fluid really helps to cheaply de-ice your wind shield. Keep up the good work!
What brand of XL wrench do you use ?
I had a Mr. Stevens in my autoshop class in a small town in texas… back in my jr/sr year of high school….. nearly 14 years ago now lol love your content. keep it going!!!!!
