We used to be able as technicians to replace an airgun's anvil and hammers when we put new airvanes in them.
If it was high quality and name brand, you showed it to the tool man, and in a few days? Here's your goodies.
Now kids just keep buying new different electric ones that cost hundreds and seek to do test demonstrations to offset the cost.
I don't know how available those internal parts are for your impact now.
I did mine for like 30 bucks on a Saturday, on the clock.
Woohoo $3.75 an hour.

Been doing brake jobs for over 20 years and never had a problem with pushing the caliper in with the bleeder closed
I've done properly a million break jobs. ( more like 300 ) I have Never opened the bleeder. Just make sure the master cylinder filler cap is off. I have never had any problems.

I never loosen the brake bleeder. If the piston won't go in it needs a caliper.

At Sears auto center every lift had a brake washer. If they looked before you did a brake job and you didn't wash the brake they could write the tech up. didn't matter the dust flew when impact was used on lug nuts….duh huh.

One important reason for opening the bleeder valve when you compress the pistons is that the brake fluid that was in the caliper that is subject to overheating, is eliminated if you open the bleeder valve. Just a better job doing it that way, especially if you don't flush the brake system. Also, as I said before, you need to take respiratory precautions working with brakes because of the dust is bad for your lungs. You will find that out in 20 or so years if you don't use respiratory protection. I am surprised OSHA doesn't require it
