Hi Eric O I love your channel if i were to ask a question would you mind offering a bit of advice on a 2008 caliber with throttle issues. ive tested my brains out cant seem to find the issue i use your techniques alot they always help but im stumped and usually im able to jsolve the problems fairly quick. the circuit seems to test ok got 5V ref. signal wire is like 2.5 not sure about this one then two motor wires for control supopose to switch poolarities. when tested both seem to have 12V positive on both wierd yet they arent shorted together both have continuity to pcm and seem to go directly from pcm to throttle body. only other wires are the tps not sure how to test these any advice im about to try a Pcm. car ran fine lost power from main relay wire broke fixed wire and it starts again but no throttle control since.
Did she send you to an Optometrist or an Ophthalmologist? An Optometrist is not an MD eye doctor but an Ophthalmologist is an eye doctor. I would never let an Optometrist fool around with my eye but I would buy glasses from an Optometrist.
its funny i was replacing some shocks on a k truck & all rust fell down i went to a walk on doc . got in looked at my eye. so he places dye in my eye like now i feel like were doing an oil dye test. so he turn off light now checking he says i can not see any thing gives me med for eye . go home still in pain . a week later go to er . doc i get looks at me . first thing he say that the doc you have needs glasses .. these docs ????????? hoping you & your family are doing well .. i live in canada oshawa ont were are to phase 3 now
Apart from the really great videos which makes you different to lots of other technicians, you would be surprised how 'Skilled' you are. I employed 35+ technicians in a large non franchise workshop and finding people who can make a logical diagnosis was very difficult. Lots of guys are good at changing stuff (rusty or not!) which is sometimes enough. looking after a modern vehicle from headlights through to tail lights requires a technician, not a mechanic. I think you under estimate the rarety of your skills especially when combined with an ability to communicate. You would likely say it's just 'Common Sense', perhaps you have failed to appreciate that these days Common Sense is a Super Power!
72 k5 blazer blazer never had issues with 4 week drive on payment only with roasting my 33s but it had a 400 motor always loaded at idle and a double pumped carb😆☺
Okay man, time to put the safetys on. They don't look so bad and if it saves your eyesight its worth it. Put em on! We like watching you so protect those peepers.
No matter how much you learn 5- 10 or 15 years later every thing completely changes. You still need that basic mechanical, electronic ability which some never get. After so many years It's like you become part of that thing. I tell people that computer's are nothing special nothing to fear just a stupid machine. With out a human input one screw falls out one lose wire it's junk scrap mettle and plastic.
In about 1998 I went to a class to be a certified mechanic for T-444 HUIE fuel injected electronic diesel's. International's and Fords were just starting to use them engines. The fellow doing the class started with 'your world as a mechanic has just changed'. Before today your work was 90% mechanical and 10% electronics. From here on out it will be 10% mechanical and 90% electronics. I was lucky there was one guy who worked for International who I could call that was involved in the actual building and placing these engines in International bus's. They were already in Ford trucks and pickups. I was there 2 1/2 years before going to college for 2 years for computer tech. 18 years buying, selling, fixing Windows computers. Now every one is using their I-Phones and I-Pads. Believe it or not Desktop's and laptops are on the way out. What a World we live in…
Been a mechanic, welder / computers started at twelve making go-carts, mini bikes with fixing lawn mowers, motor cycles, cars trucks, tractors, on to electronic diesel school bus's, I owned operated Exhaust Benders 26 years. I was Head mechanic for small School dist. 2 1/2 years 35 vehicles. not including the tractors, lawn mowers, skid steer and backup generators. Every thing changed many times over the years.
Supersized you don't have a eye wash station. Never rub and irritated eye due to a particulate. Use distilled or some like dry eye wash. How do I know? Since I was a young teenager I had bad allergies. Worse in the spring. I would wake up with my eye lids swollen and crusted over bad enough that my lid muscles could not break them open. My dogs (in YouTube pic) pawed my left eye twice. Hurt like ^*%#. I had to go to my eye doctor everyday the every other etc. He would stick a needle in my eye to pick out the dirt so the cut lens would not heal ever the crap in my eye. I'm shocked Mrs. "O" didn't make you go sooner. 😜👏
To bad I missed this. Airplanes are not that bad. I flew on 15 different flights last year. I will be flying out of the country again as soon as this Corona Virus is over with.
Eric, do have any idea as to why the "key in the ignition or the door ajar" bell or alarm will NEVER die? I have left a customer's car door open on purpose overnight to see if the sob would die. They WILL NOT die. But my cell phone charger can and did.
Hi Sir, I hope your eye is continuing to get better. I have a 01 Town Car and the core plug on the driver side rear of the engine has sprung a leak. Have you done a video about this kind of repair? What kind of hack can you give me on replacing this plug WITHOUT removing the whole engine or partially removing stuff to lean engine forwards to gain room? Or is removing the engine the only option? I am working in my backyard with mostly hand tools. Thank you for your time and input. you are a great person and I Luv what you do for us shade-tree mechanics. You and your family stay healthy!
Yeah, PA is getting ridiculous with the rust stuff. I can understand structural rot, but they're going after any body panels now. Tommy the Commie is in charge here, and his transvestite health secretary.
The Tundra is built outside of Princeton, Indiana and the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra are built outside of Fort Wayne, Indiana. I think GM also builds trucks in Mexico today.

When it comes time to retire, Maybe you and Scotty could go to the Toyota dealership and become Toyota used car salesman!

Happy Birthday 🎂
On the GM clutch that wouldn't release I ran into one on a 69 Z28 that had a twisted input shaft. Drove me about crazy.
It is better to burp and bury the shame than not to burp and bury the pain.
I have a 1983 F150 with a carb…points…distributor….. I'll bring it to you to fix a high idle 🙂

My dad says an airplane is designed so it wants to fly, but all a helicopter wants to do is shake itself apart! Flyer since 1945.
Omnicraft is related to Ford customer service as a new parts brand. What kind of coffee you Drink?
Never have opened the bleachers when doing my brakes

Awesome to see your boy rocking the braves hat. 👍🏻 Even though they are choke artist, being from Georgia I have to support them.

If one watches enough of these auto repair channels, one would never want to own a car. Jus' sayin'.
You got the purell you got da gluvs but no jock strap?? Safety 3rd!
Are you still wearing that hat? Time for a new one, or some duct tape on the old one.
Nice to see your son pop up in this video.
I had to get my eye drilled once
Sorry. Your "Scotty Kilmer" voice sounds more like Grover from Sesame Street. But my wife says I'm going deaf at 75, so what do I know?

There's a fourth Indiana Jones movie!
There are NOT many mechanichs out there a 100 times better than you Eric. If any.
