HEY ERIC, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! WHEN YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT BLOWING THE HEAD OFF THE TOP SPRING BOLTS, THE 1ST THING THAT CAME TO MY MIND WAS……(A NUTCRACKER! I KNOW YOU HAVE TO HAVE 1 OF THOSE. ๐ I 1ST USED 1 WHEN I WAS ABOUT 16. IT DOES THE JOB WELL. 58 NOW JUST TO SHOW HOW LONG AGO THAT WAS. LOVE YA BROTHER. ๐๐
Not much rust under that Tacoma for a New York Vehicle always nice Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Do you recommend new leaf springs on an older truck, like my 2000 s10 zr2, or would you suggest used or old ones? My passenger side leaf spring broke and I'm trying to figure out the best thing to do.
Good job!
What brand leaf springs do you use
The springs on those 2nd gen tacomas are a joke, just had mine replaced with a 4 pack, 60k on the truck. Looking into air springs.
Hammer? Oh you mean the concussion calibration instrument. ๐ฅบ๐คญ
To the owner of that pickup all windshields throughout the world thank you for the mud flaps. And to the butthole that had that lifted piece of crap Dodge that cracked my windshield I will find you! Into Nevada who has no mud flap laws bite me

Nice vid.
Thanks for posting
My journeyman told me that the length of the u bolts should be even side to side (LR – RR) when tightening, is this true?
Thank you for checking the distance between the new spring and Old spring I was waiting for that if I was keeping the truck and it was my truck I replace them both with new springs not used they both really got changed with NewSpring so it was perfectly level thank you I appreciate you did that I was waiting for that you're a good guy by the way I like your shirts I like logos on the back of my shirts that's what you have awesome
A little late but that was recalled
YES! you should always load those springs before you tighten the end bolts. most people do that wrong.
"Let's try the non Polish way…" ๐
Just another one of many recalls on those pickups
2004 Tacoma, perhaps x to change Leaf Springs and the Shocks??
Rear drops quite low with 5 ft bed filled with mulch.
Rylie
where are your safety glasses
Very informative video
Thanks for posting
Looks like a good amount of frame rot going on.
What the heck….. no never seize or fluid film….
I swapped my springs out in 2017 to this video. ๐
Nice. I'm replacing my leafs soon, and this video covered all the bases, and clearly demonstrated each step. Last time I swapped a leaf I was just a little kid helping my dad, so I wasn't sure if it was something I could do on my own. Looks like and easy enough job for an afternoon (if my bolts aren't seized).
I did 2 on my 1977 m/h. 104 lbs ea. Used pvc caps; shaped inside to fit nuts. Jamed on and filled with LIQUID WRENCH 1 week before removal. It worked!
where u had gone? i was searching u desperately but could nt get u. this us ur 5 year old video. i want th latest one. plz help me. me frm pakistan. thsnks
$1K job when any spring rebuilding company would charge $300. Rip off!!
Who manufactured the replacement leaf spring? Iโm thinking about replacing my sprigs soon.
Close enough for government work
Why no lub on hanger bolts? Also why not turn upper rear hanger bolt the other way round
Thank you! BEst wishes for 2021!
Greetings, I am a follower of your page, I see that you have a lot of experience in the automotive area. I go to you. A question is about the vateria warning light on the dashboard of Toyota tacoma 2007, it would be so kind to guide the problem of this vehicle. AC
I like to watch You video
2020 Has this truck been back for the other side?
If you have a Tacoma, you are going to need a new frame for free from Toyota. They use many new parts when they do the frame swap including the rear leaf springs
If it ain't broke dont fix it besides the springs will wear in and it wont Crook the vehicle as long as the lengths arch and tensions are right
Cool, be sure to lube that entire hoist before takeing the tire back uphad to rebuild my nissans hoist and lube the snot out of it
Gives me hints on trying to replace the old rear suspension pads on the '69… Thanks!
Do torque sticks really work ?
Pressed play and told the wife "its a broken leaf spring but 10 to 1 says the test light makes an appearance"
Hey Eric, with the amount of rusted bolts you found in this repair, I don't understand why you didn't use antiseize on all the hanger bolts and U bolts? A bit puzzling to me.
Don't need to torque them hey?
remember to tighten the shackles????ย
๐
The leaking air hose was bothering the heck out of me ๐คฃ it's my #1 pet peeve lol
Hey Eric. Hang on the old leaf spring sections, those pieces of steel come in very handy for all kinds of things. You can make a custom puller whenever you need one! Not to mention all the other uses for them!
Hey how much would you charge to replace a rear wheel driver side leaf spring on an 06 tundra?
Thanks for this video, take care.
Just curious why you didn't use rust-off spray or put a little heat on the ubolts before you took a torch to it? And if its so rusted under there , why not take the nut off the shock instead of it possible coming apart by letting the leaf hang off of it and all that weight? Kinda of head scratcher there .
Great job
