This wasn't a dealership issue for me but I have a 2016 dodge dart and those damn things have the 2 piece lug studs. All but 1 came off no issue when I was doing a brake inspection that last damned one swelled up and the cap keept spinning on it no matter how much I tried. Luckily I had a sharp chisel to remove the chrome cap with and freed the tire. Imediatly ordered 1 piece lug studs and swapped everything out. With proper torque
best favor I ever did for myself was to replace my escape's factory lug nuts with 1 piecers. Came in real handy one day I had to pull over and change my spare before work. well yahoo ! I made it work on time only because I worked them mystery size oe lug nuts off weeks before as a preventive measure. the factory setup would have left me SOL.
Did this on 2 Dodge Rams went to take off the wheel person that worked on the truck before me tighten the lug nuts too much and stripped them out only option was drilling them two on each wheel on both trucks lucky me
A little white lithium lube on the conical seat when dissimilar metals meet for wheels. Tighten evenly, to spec, recheck. Without a Lil lube it gets married up and won't turn at the conical seat. I had one in a rainstorm that I had to add the jack handle to a very long breaker bar and use all of me . A snap-on socket to begin , and all the right moves still required the long pipe for that crack free moment. I had learned from early apprenticeship in my area by the water. Use a tiny wipe of white lube on assembly with alluminum wheels.
I learned a better faster way to get them off if its more then just 1 use a torch melt them off or if its just one i jack the car up outside the shop the side that needs the lug off hook a chain to rim and to back of truck and hit the gas like pulling a tooth the rim flys off breaking the stud off i just replace the stud
These are off that V6 charger ain’t they?

WASTE OF UR TIME!!!
Use the TORCH-(aka The blue wrench!) and make the customer replace the wheel!!
Ouch
Why didn't you weld them?
Yes take care of your balls
Now that's allot of damage great Scott how and why let them get that fucking bad
Word of advice…..replace those shitty capped lug nuts before that
"And they'll take care of you"
I use a torch
I know there was a wheel between all that I want to see the aftermath
Drilling is always the worst part of any job.

Hello, What drill bits are you using?
I anti-seize everything… Including the brakes
We do this alot at Ford dealership
i never take my car to a dealer for service.
Ur gettin pretty good at that Ray
I saw a video once when I had an issue where BMW had a special tool to go over the lug nut ti center the drill bit. Wish I had one that day :/
We pop out at your party! I'm with the gang.
And there's gon be a robbery so tuck yo chain.
dealer warranty workmanship in ohio is not the greatest
Did you make a full vid? Was it one of your new employees fault
theres an actual tool to remove those and takes about 1/3 of time
Wish you had a mig welder bro
the moral is take care in who, you trust your nutz to.
Why not just break them, gonna have to be replaced regardless.
I recognize the Ford lugnuts
would of been easier to just weld a bar on bolt???
Wait
.. what on earth… What the hell
Noooo… Don't tell me that's what they look like just from trying to remove them from a vehicle…
Especially if it's a Car…. Not a truck.. of anykind
Milwaukee 2667 just snaps those clean, no drill needed 😆
At least it wasn’t an HD
🙈🙉🙊🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

U always have to protect ur mcnuggets 😂
I bet its from a dodge , those stupid chrome caps i just hate them … If thats the case get rid of them all
CROSSTHREADED THE NIGHMARE…HARD STEEL TO BOOT…SAD THOSE BITS COST SO MUCH…(TAKE CARE OF YOUR NUTS…🤣) NOBODY LUBES ANYTHING…DANG…
Why didn't you beat on a smaller socket and twist them off, or break the studs?
Edit: I bet he has expensive sockets.
I had a situation where I had s locked up lug nut. Used a hole saw bit the same I.D. as the O.D. of the threads. Just don't cut into the rim.
I mean, there are cheaper and quicker methods….
This would've drove me "nuts"
😄
Good grief thats the worst I've ever seen!
Ray, it's why they're called steelerships!
Cross thread or corrosion?
FINGER START THEM!!!
Solid Nuts only. Thank goodness the dodge replacements are all solid now.

So who owned the vehicle before
The Incredible Hulk?
Been there and done it,,,,what a b!+¢h is all I can say about it
A part of me wonders if a torch and an off size rachet would have done the trick a lot faster?
