I Don't know if clear engine oil is supposed to smoke that way or not. it's a lot of smoke. Actually I Don't even know if that's oil. Look at that smoking.

Never saw that before. Nasty medieval cleaner Oil Company Hood Oh look who that guy is. Hello there viewers! Good day to you! Welcome back! Glad you guys are here. We are returning to this.

Uh Hyundai Sonata This is the one that I misdiagnosed and put the wrong Parts in the steering shaft and then I had to go back and fix it. Cost me 200 bucks. Oh oh no. Oh no.

the noise is still there, but it is what it is. We fixed the problem. The steering shaft is no longer clunking and rattling around as it was at 122 967 miles on the odometer. but uh, that is not what we're doing here on this particular video.

We're not going to beat that horse anymore. Uh, what we're going to do here is to address a uh, an oil burning complaint popping. Z Hood We have a an oil burning complaint on this particular Kia Now these GDI Kia engines. They're well known for engine failures.

Uh, they're well known for carbon buildup and they're well known for burning oil and a lot of folks just kind of write them off as disposable engines. and I don't think that's the case. or at least we're going to try to avoid such a thing. So what I'm going to do is uh, it's going to be a rather unorthodox procedure.

I'm going to do a couple things at the exact same time on this engine and hopefully we can get, uh, get the oil consumption issue to stop. My thoughts are is that the oil control rings on the Pistons may have a bunch of carbon built up in those and the Rings cannot expand and contract as they're designed to and that's allowing oil to squeak on by and then become burnt up in the combustion chamber. So what I'm going to do is attempt to clean some of that carbon and nasty and build up and sludge out of this engine and hopefully make it stop burning oil. Now as you can see from the presence of this high pressure fuel pump, it has direct injection and the direct inject engines were again known for carbon buildup issues.

so we're going to try to clean that out and I'm going to do that with everybody's favorite product. to hate. That's my BG cleaner. Solutions the the snake Oil.

you guys say I think it works. Uh, you don't have to buy this. You don't have to use this but this is the stuff that I use. This is the stuff that I buy and this is the stuff that I sell and I have found good results on it So love it or hate it.

This is what I'm doing today. You don't have to get mad at me for doing it. My customer knows what the wrists are and they knows what the potential gains are. They're well aware of that and it's not a problem.

Transparency has been provided in this situation. So what I'm going to do is a series of flushes and cleaning Cycles on this particular engine to attempt to decarbonate and hopefully we can make those Rings relax on the Pistons and if the thing can stop burning oil. So the way this is going to work is, we need to let this engine come up to operating temperature. It has been running for about 15 minutes now and it should be getting fairly warm.
What we're going to do is get our throttle stop in there for later. put that down right there. What we're going to do is after temperature is reached, which is nearly there, we're going to lift this car up on the rack, we're going to pull the engine oil filter out and we're going to drain the engine oil. Then we're going to install a new filter, and then we're going to.

Instead of adding oil, we're going to add this gallon of cleaning solution to the crank case as per the destruction that came with the kit. Once we have installed the queen solution, we're going to run this engine up to 3 000 RPMs and we're going to hold it there with that throttle stop and it's going to hang out there for 45 minutes. During that 45 minutes, this cleaning solution is going to become super heated. It's going to move through the entire engine oil system and hopefully it's going to break down and clean out some of that carbon buildup.

Sure, we have run this gallon through it. We're going to drain the oil again, which is going to be the cleaner. It's going to be dirty. We're going to drain that out.

We're going to pull the filter off and Let It All Drain Then we're going to add that gallon of rinse oil with another filter. We're going to start the engine and then we're going to let it run at 3000. RPM For 20 minutes. While that's happening, there's going to be a Can of Fuel System Cleaner.

This is going to go through our high pressure injectors and the injector nozzles and this is going to clean out the fuel injection system. We're going to install this into the tank. This can over here is called MOA It's called Motor Oil Additive. We're going to add this after we drain out the second gallon and then add engine oil to it.

Additionally, at the same time, I'm going to install some air, intake valve and combustion chamber cleaner and notice the sponsored stuff. It's just what I use. We're going to add a gallon or the the pint of this to this delivery vessel which is going to be powered by shop air On the end of it. It's got a nozzle similar to a fuel injector.

very small little holes in the tip of it. We're going to high pressure this secondary cleaner. We're going to run through this nozzle and through the nozzle. It is going to run into our intake stream and it's going to go over our Valves and it's going to go through our intake Runners and into our cylinder head and hopefully clean out all of those areas as well as the combustion Chambers and the tops of the Piston.

So we're cleaning this thing from both different directions, so to speak. All right. One of the first things we need to do here is install a hood prop Rod That way the the hood does not fall down during this procedure. Reason being is I'm going to add a little bit of weight to the end of that hood and there's potential that the hood is going to want to fall down.
So we need to take this guy, hang it up right over here and then we'll get our hose set up inside of our intake screen. We can fill up the vessel with the cleaner, get shot there, hooked to it. then we can proceed with the rest of the procedures, proceed with the rest of the procedures. Does that sound right? Sure, why not? How about then we may execute the procedure I Like that better.

actually keep the procedure and hopefully we don't execute the uh, the Hyundai engine. We don't want to do that. So what I'm going to do? We're gonna pop this uh intake off. You're gonna come off of there.

Oh, it's clipped on I thought it had uh, little slots in there. Anyway, we're going to pop this guy off. We're gonna stick the uh, the nozzle down into the intake and uh, get this thing set up all right. So I've bent this little ejection device a little bit to make sure it fits in there properly.

So now we just need to snake this thing into that tube and then we can refill the uh, the vessel, the the tool rather and get the air pressure set up. So let's uh, feel it around in there we can't really see. Oh wait, wait, that's not gonna work. This tube extends to like this position inside of the Box.

No worries, stick it right on in there. All right. So we've got our uh, our nozzle inside of the intake stream. Let's go ahead, refill the vessel right here with the cleaner spin so I can see you.

We'll fill this guy up with cleaner. Become unclipped now tight. Oh look, it's got pressure in it. That's the problem here.

Let's open up the valve. Must have been a pressure difference from ambient air pressure changes about that. Okay, one pint of intake cleaner for GDI engines coming in. By the way, GDI stands for Gasoline Direct Injection.

If anyone did not know pouring things, build this unit on up. Wait till you guys see how nasty the oil coming out of this thing is about to be. It's gonna be good. Okay, let's put our cap back on.

it's sealed with an O-ring Screw that guy in and then we need to apply shop air. But first, let's get the oil jumped out of this and get the new oil in. We should be at a decent operating temperature. Yeah, we're looking good.

The gauge hasn't moved, powering down, the rack is already set. So let's go ahead and run this thing up. We'll dump the oil out, spin the filter off, and then, uh, get the cleaner installed. Moving on up.

Silver Subscribe button. It's a thing we do here. Warning: This is a Shameless self-promotion actually. I should say it's a thing for the new folks that just got here to do here.

That's my little reminder to tap that subscribe button down below. That way you will not miss out on any future content. And then when my moments of Shame was self-fromotion come on. Hyundai Get up.
there. Is that? okay? I Hope that motor is okay. All right up in the air. Let's bring it down.

Undo a lot the safety. There we go. and we're looking for the filter which is right in front of us and our drain plug also right in front of it. All right, let's get our filter first.

Filter wrench coming in. Let's get this guy removed. Beautimous. Back that up.

Give it a spin. Duck. ah, little fling oil at you if you don't, Uh, if you don't dunk and hide out. It happens every time.

All right. Moving around to the back side, let's get our drain plug out of here on kickage spin that guy out. Ooh hot. getting warm? Good.

Okay, oh, that's nasty. Look how black that oil is. That's just the regular engine oil. That's not even the oil with the cleaner.

It's pretty gnarly. Okay, while that's draining, I've got another filter here. we can go ahead and just spin that guy on right now. As soon as that's done, we'll plug it, dump the cleaner in, and then, uh, run this thing until there's smoke pouring out of the crank case.

Not really okay. x amount of time has passed. I'd say that's good for what we're doing right now. Let's get our plug back in here, tighten it down, and then, uh, we'll fill this full of cleaner.

That's when we get to the good part. The real good part is that a tug. Good to go. All right.

Let us get out from under here and let this car down. Move it back up off the locks, lock release down all the way down. All right. Time to go ahead and install our one gallon of dynamic engine cleaning solution.

Caps off. Get rid of that. Open her up. Yeah.

Look, even that oil on the bottom of the Cap's dirty. It's like totally black nasty. We're gonna pour in our gallon of cleaner almost there. It's about three quarts right now.

Four-ish Yeah, we're good there. Alrighty, let's toss our cat back on the valve cover mix just real quick. Let's just check the level and make sure we're not drastically overfilled or anything like that. That's a Surefire way to blow up your engine.

And yeah, we're good here. Yep, it's a little bit over the dots, but the filter is also not primed so this is fine. All right, let's fire this thing back up. We'll get the throttle, stop in, raise engine RPM to 3000 and then we can start the 45 minute timer.

It's gonna be scary. Okay. reaching on in, down, and through I can't I cannot reach the car's a little high up in the air. Climbing up there we go.

starting Z engine all right, she's running. Let's check it for leaks just to make sure that's AC water not oil. Okay, we're good here. Let's check engine oil pressure.

Do we have any warning lights? anything crazy like that? Nope. All right, we're good. So next up, let's go ahead and refill or fill up or install the uh, the can of fuel system cleaner And then we'll start the procedure here. How do I get into the fuel tank that one? I Need that unclick that? Okay, we've got 11 fluid ounces of 44k fuel system cleaner.
Pop top folder back and we have a funnel designed to fit onto our canes. Check that out. I Think that's pretty cool. So now let's bring this on over and send it There We go Good Got her! I Had some spillage.

No worries, that guy in real quick. The Click is defective. Okay, everything's looking good. Let us set up our throttle.

stop now. So what? I Want to do? Climb in here a little bit and we need to take the uh, the end of this guy. Stick it down on the throttle pedal so we'll squeeze and squeeze and squeeze like a caulk gun so that meets the pedal. Then we're going to hook that guy into the steering wheel, depress the throttle until we reach 3000.

RPM and then we're just gonna let her hang out there. And I should turn off the climate control while I'm at it pushing it down there. we go Three thousand? All right. It's 12 11 right now.

So 45 minutes, that's 12 56. we'll be back at 2 256. 2 56 P.m we're gonna let this thing hang out just like that to ensure it does not overheat. I've got a fan slowed itself down some I'll take 2500 all day.

That's fine. So anyway, to ensure that it doesn't overheat, you put a fin in front of the car to blow some air into the radiator while this is happening. I'm going to go ahead and set up the shop air on our induction side of the cleaning procedure and then begin to install our cleaner solution. Okay, shop air coming in, the valve is closed.

Watch the pressure. We're up around 60 PSI that's regulated pressure to the tank zero. PSI On the output side, we open her up. Now we're up to which is regulating at 50.

Yeah, 50 right here. A little bit higher up here, so we have solution flowing through into the nozzle and into the intake. Thank you! All right! I'll be back when that's nearly done and we still have our 40-something more minute counter on this one right here. So we're just going to let this thing ride for a while and when it's done, we'll come back and readjust.

Then we can spell out that nasty, superheated cleaner oil from the oil pan and witness the Carnage that lies within. All right, returning to the scene of the crime. Here, we're not overheated yet 253 on the clock. We are not quite there yet according to our destructions, but it does appear that our fluid installation is successfully complete.

Yeah, the bottle's empty there. So I Can go ahead and get the uh, the nozzle out of the intake screen and get rid of that, disconnect the power supply and we can get this thing out of here. We don't need this anymore here. We'll take that guy right over there, hang her on up.

until next time you stay there and you can go ahead and get our next bottle out because what I'm going to do is run that back up in the air drain it real quick and then we're just going to get right into the the second phase. You'll get this bottle prepped and ready to roll. That's fine. We've got one other filter for the next set and then this is going to be our final filter that we're actually going to use for engine oil.
Checking our clock 256 on the clock I Think that's the appropriate amount of time it's release. We're down to engine idle and we can go ahead, reach around here, you shutter down okay, engines off. The cleaner has done its cleaning job. Let's run this back up in the air, jump the filter, dump the fluid oil router, and then we'll refill it with the rinse oil and then repeat one more time for 20 minutes now.

I Know it's not going to take you guys 20 minutes because I'm just going to walk away and then edit that part out. but it will be a 20 minute cleaning procedure and we can verify that with our clock all the way up. Okay, that's up enough. Let's get our, uh, our drain bucket here.

Uh. One thing to note: You should make sure that your drain bucket can handle three or four more gallons of oil before attempting this procedure. Right here? That's the wrong one. Okay, we'll try the bigger one I Forgot that's a different filter.

There we go. It's a different filter than the one I Took off. The flutes are slightly different on it. There we go.

All right. Yeah, she's a little warm. Okay, same procedure as last time. We'll hold that up so we don't get smashed.

All right. Spinner off: Nice. Okay. next filter I Choose this one because it's dirtier.

There we go. Thread that guy on. We'll drop our uh, our plug in the pan linkage. That's nasty.

17 mil. All right here it comes now because this engine oil is probably scalding hot. I've got this little device here. It's like a magnet and it's on a little flexi uh, flexi cable thing and what that's going to allow me to do is just get a hold of that plug and keep my, uh, my hand out of the danger zone here.

Foreign Actually I Don't even know if that's oil. Look at that smoking. Never saw that before. It's like medieval nasty medieval cleaner oil.

Very very thin as well. It's not as thick as a regular engine oil. Okay, so we'll let this stuff ride as soon as that's done. Draining Rebirth procedure.

We'll plug it up, let it down, fill it back up, and then run it again. 20 more minutes 3000 RPM with the next gallon of solution. All right. our drain action has seemed to have slowed quite a bit.

Let's go ahead and toss this uh plug back in. Oh, that's hot. We'll toss the plug back in and proceed. I Know there was some draining out, but we do have one more drain to complete before this is all over with click boom.

Okay, let's roll this pan out of the way again and we will let down our Hyundai again two coming in soil smoke coming out there too. Pump this guy in. I'm not so concerned about spillage, so I'm gonna wash it off later. But look at this.
This red soil solution is clear. Engine oil is supposed to smoke that way or not, it's a lot of smoke. Long range. I'm spilling it There we go.

Okay, Cap back on restocking the engine, will repeat the same procedure. Foreign. We're gonna run this back up to Uh 3000 and start our 20 minute timer. All right.

We got our stable at about 2 800 RPM Let's go check the clock. real quick maneuvering through. we are at 3 11. so we're coming back when it says 3 30.

At 3 30 we can put regular engine oil and that will complete this particular service time. Check 328 we've got. We got another couple minutes. so let's go ahead.

We'll fetch our engine oil in a jug that way. Uh, we're prepared and we're saving some time that's clean. Rotate This is BG Engine oil. It's five Winter Thirty Fully synthesized engine oil.

Fill this guy up with five quarts. There's my gauge there. Five. It's a six quart jug.

We don't need six. What about you guys See that oil fly out of there? Okay, that's good. We'll close it off and this guy is coming with me. Set that aside for when it's time to refill.

What's our clock? Say 329. Close enough. All right. Let us go ahead and run this thing down back to idle.

Don't need this anymore, dude. You can go on the bench and let's reach on back, under and around the column. You shut her down. Okay.

Finalized engine oil drain coming in. Let's get her back up in the air one more time. Silver Last Chance Subscribe button. There we go.

Moving back up. we're gonna drain it one more filter and then we're going to install the regular engine oil. There's that noise again. There we go.

Okay on the locks, dude. let's go ahead. Swing this guy back under our vehicle here and we'll pop that filter off. This filter is Hot Hot Hot.

Like a Toyota Hot Hot Hot. You guys remember those commercials I Recall there we go. Spin this guy out there. We go one more time.

Ah, it's slow. Come on. It slipped. What have I done? That was a fail if ever.

This oil looks clear. So I guess that means there's not loads of contaminant left over that weren't washed away. It is dark, but it's also translucent. What's the word of the day? translucent.

Where's my 17? Okay, let's pull our drain plug unit back out and we'll spill the rest of this oil. So I wonder if this oil is going to smoke as bad as that last bit of oil that came out? See what it does here? I'm hiding behind this so it can't Splash and uh. melt my face. It comes a little dark there.

Oh yeah, it's smoking. smoking a lot. Dang yeah. that stuff is hot.

Better not breathe it. Turn the fan on me. I Do not want to inhale the toxins. Oh, it's going now.
Look at that. Put it speed up. You can still see through it a little bit. Nowhere near as thick as regular engine oil, but it's Al Hoyt burnt me and melted my gloves.

Look at that. All right. Let's let this sit back for a few minutes. We'll let it drain all the way and then we can throw our regular engine oil back in and this thing's good to go.

We'll toss our third and final filter onto the filter housing while we wait. Okay, we're done dripping and draining. Let's get our plug back in. We'll let her down.

Fill her up, non-pick ER Tight right here. And we did have some spillage going on here, so we need to clean that stuff off. Shiny. It's again, shiny now.

what is that about? huh? A weird residue. Never seen that before. Look at that left. like this white residue stuff.

All right. I Wonder if it's still hot? that? it's like baking the brake clean and it's not doing it over there. just over here. It's a beard.

We're having a chemical reaction. Okay, enough screwing around. We wipe that off and we'll let this car back down. We'll get it refilled, restart the engine, check all critical systems and this.

this video is good to go. All right folks. she's on the ground. Let's get.

let's get started one more time. Check our low oil level. We'll check the condition after the change. Look at that that's super clean.

No more of that nasty. We'll check level, check, condition, clean this off. I Mean this vehicle is all set. look I Have a built-in funnel for no spillage action.

Pour it right on in there. it's a fully synthesized. I Ended up with a little over five quarts on this. so I'm Gonna Fill it Shy Start it and recheck it and then top it back off.

So far, still need more there? That's good. Good cap on beginning restart procedure. now. All right.

Sounds good. Shut it down. Let's check our dip and stick have here and we're at the bottom of our first. Mark We need a little bit more.

Let's throw that stuff in while we're at it. Get on there. It's an additive package. It's supposed to prevent carbon and reduce friction.

Things of that nature. It works on lawn mowers too. Right on up. A little bit more oil complete our five quarts and the dipstick tells us it's going to be right on the money.

right there, right there below the second dot. 100 full, right on. Let's get our cap in place, wipe off whatever's spilled there we go, and we'll finish it off. Let's see if this is going to leave residue up here.

That's a negative. No residue observed. Goodbye spillages Yoda full I Love it. Oh no I'm running out.

No, no, no. and I almost forgot to, uh, snap this air box lid back down. That would have been horrible. We'd have cars driving around with no engine air filtration element activated.

Got okay. all right. let's go ahead and restart her one more time. Get rid of our flangy prints here.
Yeah bird. Oh, look. none on the steering wheel either. How about that or the key? I can wipe that down too.

Restocking the engine oil filters on oil's full clunky noise is gone. Engine should be clean. Our customer has to report back. Ah, back to us to me to the shop in: uh, approximately 2 000 miles.

Maybe a thousand miles. We're going to recheck the engine oil and we're gonna make sure that it does not burn up any oil. That's the reason that we performed this service. We're trying to uh to free up the Rings and prevent oil engine oil consumption in lieu of actually taking these engines apart and cleaning them out manually or replacing the unit so hopefully cross our fingers.

This is going to work. Yes, it is a gamble. It might not work, it might work, but time is going to tell. So having said that, uh, next time I Hear about this car I Will check back in with you guys and give you an update on what happened to it.

So until then and as always I Hope you enjoyed this video. If you did enjoy this video, please feel free. Just tap that like button down below. Let me know what you think in the comment section also down below and most importantly, have yourselves a fantastic day! See you guys later in the video End of Hyundai end of engine oil cleaning system into BG Products into transmission not sponsored.

That's just what I Use.

5w20 oil is the main problem. Fine if you live in -20 temps constantly. But running it on 10w40 will improve oil consumption greatly

Use a borescope to view the intake valves, before and after. You will see the intake clean does nothing

Whilst I don't disagree that these products can help I also know from experience when you got a serious issue like this you pretty well wasting your time and customers money. It's a last hell Mary at best.
I've just walnut blasted my intake valves on my 2010 audi s4 3.0t with 103k miles on it and it's now immaculate. This stopped the misfires at cold start and cold running. Also dramatically improve mpg. Unfortunately if you think some cleaners and treatments could have achieved this it would not. Now this suspected stuck oil control rings could be helped by this process, but if you ever have tried to physically free off a stuck ring on a stripped down engine you would be amazed how stuck it is. 😢
Maybe a thicker oil and some oil treatment additive is the best you could do without a proper engine strip. All the best Rainman.

Back in the 80s, we would drain the oil and leave the old oil filter on and two qts of new oil and two qts of kerosene and start it and leave it run for 30 minutes and it cut the carbon out.

Hey I got something that you may be able to use I'm pretty familiar with these Hyundai's burning oil PVC goes bad on them and make it burn oil and another thing too pull the spark plugs out on Friday put marble mystery oil in the cylinder and leave it sit for 3 days I found that that drops the burning of the oil down a lot I l work on these things every day just a little hack

When you got an oil burner, a chemical cleaning is a lower cost option to try first. I've got nothing bad to say about Justice Bros. or BG cleaners. I've not had a motor that needed it to date though…. if it helps prolong a rebuild, so much the better.

    Snake OIL !

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Alan Armstrong says:

I noticed that u put 1 gallon of the engine cleaner in the engine, while the amount of engine oil required, is 5 quarts.! Wouldn't 1 gallon of engine cleaner, put pressure on seals like the rear main seal, or any other seal, & cause it to b faulty.? I also noticed that u did not remove the oil filler cap or dipstick, when u drained the oil pan.! Doesn't not removing the oil filler cap & dipstick, mitigate the process of having all the oil drain out properly.? Isn't not removing the oil cap, going to cause a vacuum like effect, & impede on the oil being able to flow out completely.?? Apart from my mentioned observations, ur videos r very enlightening, & ur explanations r quite detailed & distinct.! Ur general work ethic – approach, is worthy of commendation.!

  52. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Pilgrim says:

I don’t understand the hate for BG products. Used them for years and have had great success with them. One method I’ve found useful for cleaning piston rings is the procedure GM has you do for the oil burning trucks. AC Delco top end engine cleaner through the spark plug holes and let it soak for a few hours. Suck it out, run it hard, and change the oil. Stopped a couple of Scions from smoking with that method.

  53. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TheProdistini says:

It's always funny to me when people act surprised that their car is smoking at such low mileage when they don't keep up with oil changes or do one a year type thing.

  54. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Vince Brown says:

Does BG still have the orange plastic stirrers in the bottom of small cans? I worked in shop where the techs would keep them and sell them back to the BG Rep

Some people might be right to label some engines as disposable these days to be honest.. Ecoboosts are definitely top of that list.
Can you imagine being stupid enough to purchase and Ecoboost Engined car that also has a Powershift transmission?
People who do such things no nothing about cars. Here in the UK with have loads of the TDCi (diesel) Fords with Manual Transmission and they work very reliably in general.
1.5 TDCi (120BHP+ Turbo diesel Torque) gets 55-65 MPG average and 75-85 MPG in 6th gear if you stay at 70 – 75 MPH.
You guys in the states got robbed of these great engines but i guess if they were allowed in the U.S. then Ford would have fitted the Powershift transmission to most of them and ruined their reliability anyway.

  72. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Hogate says:

atf trans fluid iworks just as good did with fine results ! plus it happens because people dont do oil changes in the first place !!

  73. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chevy Tough says:

And now it's overfilled because we don't give the circulated, as well as the added oil and additive, enough time to drain back down to the pan…🤦🤣

I googled my Sonata and found the solution about the little rubber 10 dollar part in the electric steering unit. We put a lot of miles on the new rubber part and it held up pretty good, the old one was chewed up pretty good.. I appreciate you trying to help the customer, hope it works out for them.

Question, I have a toyota corolla with 273,000 miles in it. I love this car but it burns oil. I figured it's the high mileage and the piston rings are not what they are use to be. What do you suggest to help slow down the oil consumption.

  80. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Theodor Giosan says:

I've had a few people bring me these burning oil but usually the whole car is on its last legs, not just the engine. I change the oil with Mobil 5w-50 and the oil burning usually subsides. Normally the car isn't worth enough to put another engine in so I just try and get them a few more miles out of the one they have. Had one that so far has made it another 50,000 miles on the 5w-50.

  81. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dennis Cross says:

Ray I would suggest you use a plastic seat cover for the seat and steering wheel. You’re covered with oil and I wouldn’t want it on my car seats.

  82. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cristobal Reynoso says:

That stuff is worth $$$$. Buy an engine.

  83. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Knorr says:

GDI, tested and mass produced by Mitsubishi in the nineteens. Although the engines of Mitsubishi lasted a lot longer than KIA/Hyundai GDI's and also had the exact same performance gains compared to traditional injection-systems, they also had exactly the same problems. So Mitsubishi quit on this concept. GDI is a bad idea in the long run. Similar to rotary/Wankel engines, on paper a better engine but it just does not work in the real world. But for the Mitsubishi GDI there was a somewhat illegal fix, disable the EGR system which was the 98% (or more?) cause of the carbon built up. (egr is a bad idea anyway).
Still funny to see car after car with GDI, facing the problems we KNOW of since the nineteens. Toyota even installing TWO sets of injectors to clean the valves with gasoline in some series of their cars, what good for environment running and producing dual set injectors?
Makes me wonder, how long car manufacturers keep on trying on the GDI concept until they all realize: Great when new, but horrible as soon as car has some miles on it due to the stupid required EGR-system. I will avoid GDI engines whenever possible!

  88. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bewildered says:

One does wonder if that snake oil is protecting the crank bearings properly.

  89. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ronald Hollister says:

The fix is the replacement of the engine. We had to on our Kia. The issue is the oil bypassing the oil ring. Good luck finding a replacement engine Kia bought them all

  90. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lucas Zylka says:

I never saw any cleaner fixing and engine oil burn. It's always a mechanical "failure".
