Is it: I Haven't been here in a minute. The unveiling: I Haven't been here in a minute. It's all dusty. 1983 Got it from the original owner.
Got 8 000 miles on it when I put it away last the heater core started leaking and uh well. I have a heater core? excuse me that is mint? Oh look at that. Yeah. 300 straight six.
Oh yeah, what? Look at that. You could always tell what's wrong with it based on the fluid that's stashed somewhere. What do you got it? What do you got in here? Anything? You got? Nothing nice. Hello everybody.
Good day to you. Welcome back Actually I don't know if this is welcome back because this is probably posted on the second Channel or maybe A-rod's channel. So I don't know if we're welcoming back, but but welcome. Glad you guys are here.
Uh I am out of my shop. we are in Michigan right now Michigan I'm at A-rod's house. we're at his storage unit and we're going to dig what year is your truck 83. We're gonna dig a 1983 Ford F-150 out of the storage unit and see if we cannot get it running.
Uh Aaron Recently got this truck. it's I think he's the second owner of this thing now I Don't know if we're making a video about this or or not so we'll see how this goes. What do you say is that your heater core you needed look at this fresh out of the box. New Old Stock actually came from Anchorage Alaska I think it was dropped, Shipped drop shipped.
Check this out. You got there I was able to find this Relic If you guys remember on the channel talking about wiring diagrams and workshop manuals, just look at this. This is a before my time to have even touched these. but this is, uh, this is quite the quite the thing.
Look at the sunlight and everything. Quite the. uh. actual wiring diagrams.
Look how small it is. There's every engine in here. the four nine, the five, oh the seven, five, the diesel. The six nine.
Uh, it's because they built simple stuff in the 80s. Man, it was simple. It's quite comical. Where's the transmission control module? Foreign? Got to tell you what though.
I Don't know if I can get into work mode after being in vacation mode for like a week I Really don't know I can do it I need my shirt. That's the problem I didn't bring my shirt. Okay, so the goal here is to change the heater core. the uh I Think the plan has escalated.
We were just gonna bypass the hear core and just connect the hoses because it's got a leak somewhere inside just to get the thing started. And now we're looking at how easy this is. The entire HVAC box just unbolts from the firewall. There is no air conditioning.
Yeah, there's no AC in this thing, right? It's got an air pump. It's got a smog pump. but no, no AC show. But we're in Michigan we don't need AC if we heard you.
So I think what we're gonna do. Unbolt this box, remove the core, replace the core and I think it comes apart from the inside. OH Close Quarters Combat. You got a flashlight That's handy going in. This thing is mint. No way. What's the mileage? Hold on it has approximately 88 000 18 000 How many miles are on this? Aaron 88 955 miles on the odometer? 88 Get out of here. Oh, it's it's white.
895 miles on the odometer. It's got crank Windows No way. Anyway, no way. Then oh back of the heater core.
uh, we're gonna need a deep well. 13 I Think no, we don't have to take that there. I I Don't know if that stud comes through or not. you see that stud.
Let's go check it from outside. Where's that line up at right right here. You see it down there. Oh yeah, See what I'm talking about? Yeah.
I Don't know if it comes through or not. Yeah, are there any more? All right. Well, we switched sides so while he's in there, let's unplug this blower motor without breaking the plastic. It's 8 000 mile little plastic.
We're not breaking anything. Oh, that one's too small. Can you fit both of them in the one single clamp outside of the box? thinking is it crushing the uh, the heater core? Oh, that's how you turn like a one hour job into a nine hour job Break the heater core. um I See, it looks collapsed just from squeezing it.
Oh, you got a wiggle wiggle wiggle it man. let's spray some uh, some PV blaster in there. It works, but we're in. Michigan I think uh I don't think I'd have to bring any sweating like a mother trucker.
Switch me Sides: I Want to do it here. You hold the you hold the recording studio I'm gonna try it some motor oil. Just put some. We need some kind of we need anything we need.
lubricants. Got a pick or a driver? Oh yeah. I'm totally gonna butcher this hose. Oh yeah.
I'm gonna butcher this hose dude I Can feel it there we go. Hoses, split. it's already broken. Yeah right there.
so we should just cut it off. All right. All right. I Shall not be defeated.
Not from the likes of this uh, this bird hose? No right. All right. All right. that other one should be here.
Closer to the end too. Hold on, let me get some sanitary napkins here just for this applicable purposes. Foreign spillage. Hey, what's that green stuff? Man, it's supposed to be Dex Cool Yeah, look at that look emulated.
All right. I'll take these boys here and just kind of, um, all right I need I'll stick them in the fender I'll need another perspiration device here 1983 Original Heater Core: Like Rayman said, it's a uh eight Thousand Mile Heater core Tower Clamps Look at them Tower Claims might be why not that's too big. We need quarter inch Drive that was a quarter. No.
then this is seven millimeter. See, we got here. It's not. No, not even close.
You need a five? That's a five Five Is it? I bet it's five five. The Ford of course it is two. Oh, you got a six five? No, it's standard something something. Wow.
Okay, we don't have enough tools to work on this. Okay, we're gonna leave the storage unit and we're gonna go to the dealership to get more tools from the toolbox and then we're gonna come back and then take this Ace rack box off and then change the heater core. This escalated very quickly. We came here to bypass the hoses to start the car to see if it's gonna run. but then I got this heater core and I'm lying One yeah, Cp's garage found New Old Stock Heater cores in Anchorage Alaska and so he bought the heater core and now we're doing that instead. All right, let's get out of here. let's go powering down. It's the same light except uh, his is green.
All right guys, you guys real quick. real quick. Dad joke of the day, you're a Milwaukee fanboy. Get it all right? Aaron's on the inside.
We're trying to get the other side of this bolt. It's like a bolt and a nut. so I have to hold this side. This is 13.
it's half inch. Man, everything here is standard. All right. If it's not half inch, it's 9 16.
What are we doing? This is so horrible. Just pull the cab off. Hey, let's just pull the cab. Let's pull the cab here.
Hand me the pliers because we don't have sockets here I need to take I don't know where this is horrible. What's the book time on this? Six tenths, six tenths with the right tools. There we go with the wrong tools and two Master techs. About three hours there we go.
My fingers are adjustable pliers. It's faking. I can't say that. Um, um oh no.
Look, um. we need to remove Paradise this little clip right here. You see that? Yeah, I'm gonna try to reuse it. How about a pair of uh, those.
Let me get the needle nose. Let's get them. needles. needles.
Are you sure about that shirt? Hang on. let me try these. Watch this. I Think these will do perfectly I Want to try to be able to reuse this reuse because we do not have your plate.
Oh look at that. You know how I know in 1982 night paint. Okay November 2nd 1982. What if it was part of a recall and someone took it off once? Okay, that's all we needed, All right.
I Think it's completely free except except for that corner. That one there's is there a nut in that corner? like what was that? I think it was under the cowl. but I don't know. Well, we can.
It's kind of loose. okay I wonder if you could pull on it while I use the electric. you know I can just hold it if you can get to that nut on the other side. I can hold this I don't think I can.
Oh, hold on I have no idea. and then you pull. Just throwing a pole on. yeah, work the case out, pull the case.
Oh it worked. It worked. But what's on the oh, there's yeah. there is a nut on the other side of it.
the hole. just I don't care. it just fell through it that that one's gonna go back in at a later date. Good thing this is just yeah.
I think we missed one. did we? There might be one on the bottom? Yeah. give me this one. look original paint. Check that out. look at that. All right. let me go do a little uh what do you think bottoms.
There's gotta be one on the bottom. There you go. I'm trying to feel for it. Yeah, go on the driver's side and you can go for me underneath the dash.
Let's find out. I Thought it was a 10 but yeah, it's this is on but it's loose I got it. Oh, it's probably gonna be one of the same. Can't stop now.
Let me go see if you're spinning inside. Oh baby, uh, here's the light. Come on. My room keeps spinning every time.
I Stop is it. it was a long hole I Got her, it's out. Amen God Bless. Oh yeah, oh it's out I got it.
Yeah, we should have took the fender well out. Oh it's one of those that hey, no problem, it's in no problem man. Mr Joe How much did you pay for the new guy? No way. I'm trying to spill coolant cooling though.
Freaking hey, oh you? Okay, yeah, look, it's a leaker. Is it a leaker? Oh son of a biscuit. it's a leaker. Okay, we need to take there's the drain.
That's why it was not leaking in your cab. It was leaking outside of the firewall. Okay, oh man, that's a long stud. Holy Cannoli All right I Think we're gonna have to.
Uh, pliers? Yep. Flyers Plow. Wow. Look at that 1983, this has not been off.
When's the last time that 3L Mark and those two dashes have seen the daylight? not? Never did anybody autograph the firewall on the assembly line? Check it out Dude. Oh yeah, Isn't that cool. It's got the proof bark right there. so I wonder if this was the original owner did this on the firewall or if that was something? Ford Motor Company did after the fact.
Let us know in the comments. Do you guys want to see this thing running after? Are we going to put this in and let it and just leave? Can we get it running? Oh, check it out. Improvise. Oh my goodness.
I'm excited. Too bad. I don't have any of the uh, gasket? Maybe we can try to savor it I think it's okay. no on the heater.
Corey we'll see if we can just sandwich it in I bet we can zip ties not on me. Is that necessary? or yeah, these do have to come out okay gravity just. here's how we'll do this: Watch this if these are like a carriage. Bolt Oh Overdrive fake it till you make it I mean it feels like we're in Florida Right now it is a little warm I am wearing pants and boat shoes.
don't make any sense. Yeah, but yeah, where's that? Where that other stuff goes? Oh, it's in the box I just let it drop into the heater core. Oh I see it? sweat's going into my contact? Oh Lord have her get some glasses. Okay, oh there's the blower motor resistor right there.
Um, we need. Oh these little guys. I think it's those little guys. Oh yeah I think it is.
Yeah. Okay, so that's got to be a court, right? That's got to be a quarter. Think so I believe it is. Dang it.
How about 5 16? All right? Raymond See what? And oh here it is like where did it go I think we pull these out and then this half the case will separate them. I need to check the forums over here. Oh here. Foreign. So it seems reasonable that I came. You're gonna have to do that Detroit to fix a broken heater core. see look how tight that was if one of us gets a flat tire gear ratios. Got it? I think I got it.
You got the fingernail pry bar. Oh yeah. Oh nasty. Oh, that's a crust-o-matic in there.
Oh, here it comes. No, it's not from Connecticut got it? Look at that. Oh wow. Look at that.
Dang well. it didn't leak for long. That is good. Look at this mold or something.
Look at that. It's a little ecosystem going on in there. Nasty. All right.
we're gonna wipe and clean this box out all right. We're doing the transplant action to get the uh, the foam sealant insulation off of the old unit and onto the new unit without destroying the foam sealant only destroyed one little piece that's good and it's not all silky. I Thought it was going to be all soggy, woggy and it was actually all right. Oh, shapes and colors, right? That's it baby.
Get the shades together all right. box going in, fitting nicely. Did it come through on the other side? Yep. I Believe you got it sir.
Okay, we got the panel back on. We fast forwarded the fitment part. It was boring. We were Jefferson chatting about nonsensical whatnots and whatnot.
You know? What's really funny is that this was never put together with Electric Tools Speed wrenches. Pretty cool. This was constructed before the concept of Electric Tools was patented. All right, we got one.
you get one yet we hiding here. he is. We need to put the staple back in. I Don't want to get a wind leak of wind noise when I'm driving I'm gonna put the staple back, you know customer.
States Wind noise when driving on the highway with only the rear windows cracked an inch. Describes it as a whooshing sound back and forth. Everything's a hammer. Here's that staple.
Check it out. It's gonna go in. What's a hammer do? It's a linear impact driver. What's uh, how much does a hen weigh? Okay, what's a henway? I Have no idea what's a henway that's Northern speak I don't know what that is.
Oh, you sounded like a kazoo. All right. So we're looking, uh, looking around the back of this lot, you know we see this liquid anti-ice Which doesn't make sense at first. but then it does because this is the solution that they spray on the streets as opposed to going around and dumping out all of that salt over there.
They have a liquid anti-freeze I Think that's the same stuff that they spray on airplanes to de-ice them right? glycol, ethylene, glycol antifreeze. So we have a chemical spill over here. This is not good, but then over here We can spray that on the streets to melt the ice. Seems like the counterintuitive can't do that, but we can do that, but that is the same as that. Hmm. Meanwhile, before we put that box back on the firewall here, let's see where the other end of this Fastener went to. I'm going to try to reach down there see if I cannot locate like I Don't know if it was one of these clips right here that is broken. or if there's just like a nut.
maybe there's nothing there. There's got to be like a little clip or something. What if it was plastic and it just disintegrated your hands going right through I can't if that's the drain. Oh, that's the drain into the fender so it actually might be on the floor.
Oh if it fell or hang on I think I got it I Feel So now it's in the drain. Where's my? I got it light I got it. I got it. I got it.
I got it. Oh it was a nut. Uh-huh Yeah man you uh, we can't get access to the back side of this. to put that nut in.
we'll have to take the wiper cow off. Check this out. Unless check this out. Okay, look at the gill slits on the panel down here.
We could take these gill slits off and totally have access. Hey okay, check it out. Let's see. See a little Gill slit? Yep.
Oh okay. okay. yes. you can pull this panel off and reach up there to put this nut back on.
Yeah, okay. Tell you what. I will leave I'm gonna give this to you I'm gonna put it in your hand. All right.
There you go. Mm-hmm Bend it. You bend it. Then you send it.
We're not really bending it. we're flexing it back to how it's supposed to be. Oh nice. Watch the master at work.
Oh, look at that. You're gonna need a laser micrometer. You'll prove that it's an absolute perfect circle. I am a robot I'd like to get you a black cobra.
a black cobra next to us be like, what are these guys talking about We're gonna have fresh hoses because we got the hose cutter neck. man. look at that. That's that's G I'll have to remember that.
That's a really good. Check it out. Yeah. I'm slightly proud of that I like it I like it a lot.
Talk about Florida man. Amen God Bless. All right, let's put this thing back in foreign since I took it out I'm putting it back in all right I Just showed my exhaust tips that you're not gonna show here. We go.
let's see here. Nothing to see. Goodness gracious right in there. All right.
I'm gonna do the inside ones I'm gonna do what's this guy's starting up? Some dude just showed up in this Sounded bad. Oh, he's pulling out Firebird I Don't want him to see me. Oh sounded nice, looks nice. I Like to do the hard one first.
Where are you here and sing four non-blondes to me while I Do this. No, not that one, not that one. What's going on? Got it threaded? Oh, the hard one is threaded Pop Lock and Drop It Clickage one Milwaukee Click here. I'll hold this up.
Are you on the inside threading that? uh, that other stud and cool I Can hear it. Let's get this thing back coming with me. A ratchet. Do you need this ratchet on the inside? Okay, you will let me know and I'll bring it to you. Good. Let's get this guy in right here. Since we don't have the appropriate socket for that, we're using pliers and thingies. Foreign.
That one's on there. It's a little bit of slippage. Oh, a little more. Come on.
Nope. not with those pliers. Okay, let's get the garbage off the frame rail. Get that stuff out of here.
Plug back in with lower resistor. Oh, he's switching cars. He pulled his orange one out to park the black one. Put that back in.
Shoot okay. heater hoses next. Tower Clamps quarter Drive thing. Where is negative Sarah Where is it foreign? Got it overhead coming in? Oh oh got it.
Do you want the ratchet that here? We go same time, wiggle that on there and then we'll wiggle this. Come on, come on. come on. one more hey.
I wonder if I should cut? I Don't know if we should cut off some of this hose right here. I may be going getting ahead of myself. Do you have any hose? Uh hose. Cutters Yeah yeah.
I don't know yeah I don't I don't like this I'm going to cut the ends of these off. There's there's enough here that was silly. Do not do that. I Love my job so much I Do it on vacation and I'll do it twice.
Whoo! These are. uh. these are something else looking. These are different.
Mine are flat bladed. You have a pointy blade. We like to play with each other's stuff that didn't sound right. Cut Is it gonna work? That's clean? Okay, how much should I cut off two inches? two inches of hard hose.
Edit: Video video edit Sensored We go. Let's try this now and it's weird. I Get up here to Detroit and everybody's listening to Kid Rock and Eminem There we go. That one's in there.
this one. This one's stubbier so it's kind of harder to get the in position. I Need you to hold this? Hold that up some because it's changing my no, no, let me let me do the clamp. You just align that some is the clamp.
wait don't move. Oh, you know what we could do, hold on we need PB Blaster No. I I got it. it's gonna go.
It's going. We're good here. You push, you push and I'll twist. Okay, see if that'll work well.
I Can take these off back to not knowing what we're doing again. All right. Hold it still. Oh yeah baby.
push in a little more. yep and hold it still there. Okay, let's make them vertical so you can't tell we were here. Put them right back where they go.
All right. Um, yeah, we're done. Here we go. I probably was clamp clickage.
Oh, here we go. Here's here's the part that really matters. what we'll do. We'll make that 90 degrees to the clamp body there.
I Think that's cool details. Swipe it down a little bit. Get rid of this excess coolant. It's washed later. I'm SI Senor found in some wood. Yeah, that was from the old man. There we go. check the coolant level here.
It's a little low, but we it's got some in it. Foreign. All right. Let's disconnect our battery maintainer here.
Get rid of this guy. It's offline support All right Buddy. Throw it in gear, Pull her out. It's not gonna work.
Something's leaking just a wee bit. It's leaking coolant hoses. What are you doing? What are you doing? You think it's going to blow out? man. Now if we wad it up and it's okay, let's go for a ride.
8 000 miles. Get out of here. 8 895 on the odometer Are they open until slits open? and then that's the air conditioner. This is this.
is it. Right here. Oh man, this brings me back. Look at that.
That's AC Whenever this is the best, you can angle it right at you and you just catch that draft one speaker. You guys know what that is way down there. See that Zoom It's not zooming that thing. Yeah, that's Z Brights Bright headlights? That's Z Brights Foreign.
All right. We put four or five miles on her back into her home. It rolled over 9000 on the test drive and we want to keep the mileage low Aaron Wants to keep the mileage low Foreign.
The switch on the driver's side floor is the highbeam switch.
I drove one of those at work from new for 10 years. Love the AC quarter window.
I had a 1980 F100 inline 6. I am not even a master auto mechanic, but if I recal correctly, I didn't have as much trouble as you guys did changing the heater core. Also, I'm guessing that odometer has rolled over at least once. BTW, they used air driven tools for assembly back then rather then battery driven ones.
I had a 1985 ford f-150 V8 automatic transmission. Sweet ride.
That's one wicked nice truck ……..
the mid 80's are when they started using standard and metric together on all cars
WOW do I feel old, like REAL OLD today, I can even smell that video , and remember messing with heater cores in the 70 80,s era!! The ones with AC and 400 Cid where a real bitch I worked at a Chevy dealership, my uncle worked at a Ford dealership, I liked Chevy cars, and trucks of that era, Ford not so much, Ford engines , when stuff worked were better, that old inline 6 ,a couple years before they smogged it, with BS, would run forever with the pistons rattling around in them, Chevy or GM motors knocked twice and blew!! AROD look around and find a NOS electric brain module for it, and keep the carb halves tight, and exhaust tight at manifold, 3 things you WILL have a problem with, the brain will let it start, maybe run, when it gets hot it will stall, and do really weird stuff with timing , sometimes intermintnet, and wont do it again for a long time, had a 77 302 do it, and worked at a tuneup shop in St Louis Mo after dealership, If it starts running rough, like a vacuum leak, check the carb halves to make sure tight with choke cleaner and the intake manifold to, and gasket not sucked out, the exhaust WILL also shake loose if running rough, right at the manifold. Man I feel like a very old man today at 65, kinda like a old man that used to work on Model A fords, looking at a F35 on this new stuff.I like the metric numbers you all use for the tools and not 11/32 , 3/8, 1/2" LOL we used to cuss the metric stuff that started around 1977 I think on GM stuff..
About 2 to 3 pounds
The tank in the background is calcium chloride that is sprayed on the road prior to a snow or ice storm.
My dad had a new one just like this, but brown. I took it on my first date to the fairgrounds to see the tractor pull. 😂
My first vehicle was an 85 F150 back in 1990. As a high schooler with little income I learned how to fix a lot on that truck by myself. Replaced the u-joints, ignition module, carburetor, dropped and replaced the manual transmission and a bunch of other stuff.
that truck is sweet and those 300 6s were a great motor, more torque the a small ford v8
This was an awesome video. My grandpa bought this exact same model brand new in 1982. My dad ended up with it. By the time he got it in the early 90’s, it had seen better days. I remember we would all pile in the cab and whoever was sitting in the middle, had to move their legs to the side so my dad could change gears.
Too old for us metric
SAE nuts and bolts
Amazing..this truck is a piece
Actually, They often use beet juice as a street anti-freeze.
Wot, no cabin air filter change?
Just picked one of these up. Great video cant wait for more
What is a hen way?? Answer: about 3 or 4 pounds with feathers.😂
And yes they did start way back then, one out of 6 will be a different size or you'll need to buy a special tool 😑 & I was in tears of laughter 😂 about the seal. Wind noise, whooshing noise 😂🤣,, that's a "STANDARD" feature 😘
I had 2 carburated and one with fuel injection before I switched to the 5.0. I think ford quit making the 300 because they could not sell any of the other 6 cyls.
Try SAE tools instead of metric.
It could have been assembled by electric tools. HISTORY LESSON:
The first electric screwdriver was invented in 1923 by Black & Decker and these were attached to a power cord. The first portable electric drill was also created by B & D, patented in 1917, but the portable electric drill had been in development since 1910. Black & Decker dominated the game ever since, pioneering all the way and coming out with the first cordless drill in 1961.
You young whipper snappers and your metric tools…. lol. Nice truck from roughly the year of my birth!
I've learned in my car days, to easily release those hoses for the heater core and also the big ones at the radiator, just take a straight blade knife and make a small slit and hose will loosen.
There was a extra one could get that coated the engine compartment and underside for rust prevention
So grateful to have grown up around these simple vehicles. Thanks for sharing this gem!
The only new vehicle my Dad ever bought was an ‘83 F-150 like this one, plain Jane, no AC, AM radio, but it did have a 302.
Had a 1960 ford with the 300 cube in 6 cylinder and 2 speed automatic . indestructible combo .did the generator to alternator swap.
Where in Michigan?

Seeing the dimmer switch brought back memories. Thanks for sharing this video.
The liquid anti ice solution is a calcium chloride brine solution, not ethyl glycol.
I bet anyone 1000 bucks this isn’t 8895.5 miles and I can prove it any takers.
🎉🎉🎉😊
When I had my '68 Chevy C-10..
I, too, had a manual like this. And it was JUST for the 1968 Chevy.. plus all the wire diagrams for each body style.
The transmission control module is on the steering column.
just came out the show room, very nice 👍👍
It is incredibly clean, but I have a very hard time believing a work truck from the 80s has only 8k miles on it
if your in Michigan I can tell you, being from Michigan, that thing never saw a Michigan winter.
Love the added commentary, makes me laugh , I listen while I’m at work rofl !
What's a henway? About 3 pounds…..
Just sold a 1985 F100 straight 6 with Factory AC and wish I'd a kept it. I bought at Auction a couple years ago for $2200 bucks. Guy offered me $3500 and i sold it.
A henweigh is about 3-5 lbs depending on the bird.
The owner or a shop would have done the painting of firewall and inner fenders. FORD did not do that.
The first cordless drill made its appearance in 1961. Black & Decker used a nickel-cadmium battery to power it. Tools with removable batteries would come several years later in 1978 when Makita issued the 6010D, a cordless drill powered by a removable 7.2V NiCd battery pack.
YES, u need AC in Michigan.
Nobody is spraying ethylene glycol on the roads. Magnesium chloride more likely.
that wasnt a 7/16's?
8,000 Miles and the heater core is shot.. take it back the the dealer! lol
That is when Ford built good trucks. No electronic BS inside. No 5.4 spark plug nightmares or camshaft destruction.
A great video Ray! I would love to see more of these gems hidden away. BTW, enjoyed the collaboration— as a non-mechanic type, I pick up POV’s from both of you working. It’s like being with my dad and family figuring out how to fix stuff. Great memories 🥰
Gotta get the tranny leak fixed
Wow in the 4x variety nice find.
Usually the core is removed from behind the glove box.
At least you dont have to drop the dashboard to get to the HVAC.
Hint! On the old Cadillacs sometimes the blower wouldn't shut off. Koeo. Solved it was a plugged heater core. Blew out the clog fan blower shut off. Then working like its suppose to
Liquid deicer is made out of beet juice.
I can tell you both are modern day mechanics and not old school boys. It is funny watching you guys struggle through this.
Soooo Two master Techs walk into a shed👍👍👍👍
Love it 😊😊
Gotta love an old OBS Ford… Got a 96 F250 7.5 that I maintain. She's still a worker.
That straight six will run forever with good maintenance…
So jealous.
Oh no….not the 4 non blondes!!! I do feel acknowledged you did that just to annoy me. But I'm trying to help you here: no more 4 non blondes!
Liquid de-icer is an organic-based substance; rock salt blend mixed with calcium chloride and a wide range of other calcium blends…its not the same as antifreeze FYI
I told my buddy these were 2 of the best mechanics on youtube….he laughed really hard🤣🤣 jk Ray, keep em coming
Ya know its gonna be a good video with 4NB songs!
Speedo's didn't go up to 100k back then!
😂 Hilarious episode! 😂
🤔hmm
this a very very nice change from the usal
Ahh the lost art of a couple guys goofing off on a project car in a shed/storage unit.
The first electric screwdriver was invented in 1923.
I have a '88 4X4 Chevy Silverado with 22K on it. It died a few years ago. Probably the fuel pump.
My grandpa had the same truck. 2wd. Ran forever.
One of the best trucks! My grandpa had that same truck back in the day, great ride! Fun fact, I shut my fingers in the door when I got out one time and the door was locked, that sucked. Lol. Thanks for the ride guys!!
😊
Back when working on them was easy. Job well done. Beautiful truck.
Ray what kind of Oakley’s do you have those a cool
Wish I could get my Jeep Commander 3.7 down to you from Columbia, SC. Wife got duped on it by a seller. It ran and drove but had a misfire code. Figured it was a coil pack but no it’s got 0 compression on the 6th cylinder. I don’t even know where to begin to repair this myself and it’s going to be super expensive and a really long wait at any shop around here. I know you could probably knock it out of the park with ease.
It's refreshing to see you guys doing Men things instead of gaming all day and looking at your phone all day like most Male Humans these days/Millennials or newer. Real men work on cars.
when a-rod get happy, he channels his inner girls singer… are his tough tattoo meant to hide this. lmao
You guys look like two Feds driving that thing. 😂😂😂
82' was the Year I was born! Most of these cars should start. I mean, look what they had for Parts. What Three or four Pumps, and then the rest was just basic! nothing, like what we have today.
FYI: when your Heater Core starts to leak, and your car is from the Midwest… your car/Truck has become a Leakers fan!
And That is just a Joke, not to offend anyone, since I am not much of a sports fan, so every team is good in my opinion!
Nice job guys. Too easy! Done a few of these in my life! I've also used a small socket to fit the core openings without damage.
Is it Propylene glycol sprayed on the roads ? Correct me if I’m wrong as I’ve been lead to believe that propylene glycol is biodegradable ( until it’s been used in an engine )
Wish my blower motor was that easy to remove! You've got to take half the dashboard apart and remove the clutch peddle to get it out! I'm just hoping the bad bushes hold up and smacking it will keep restarting it xD
From what ive researched as well, the steering column needs partially disassembling.
Very important, mettrek or standard plyers❤
Video approved no gravity, click.
I love that truck.
That is one of the best engines that Ford ever produced.
I remember needing to buy all three brand,s of book because one had proper text and the other,s had the pictures to explain what where why to funny enjoy our past at least you don,t have to worry about needing import hand,s. Blasting in from a day long ago Peace thanks
Laser micrometer?
Nah, calibrated Eye-crometer.
Nice Grandma's house reference.. I am indeed a robot
Beeyooooo.
Sheeeit son! That truck is friggin perfect!
Betcha end up changing the core without pulling the dash! The older Chevys used to just squeak her out without pulling the dash out.
Friggin Eh, the sun hitting the paint at the beginning looks like she barely needs a dust and some spray detailer.
Does this have a ManHuel manission then too?
Gah damn son she a beaut.
Carb cleaner also helps on rubber hoses and shizz.
pneumatic was the way. all the factories ran air tools. NASA put electric motors in where the impellers lay so we all love our electric rachets!
You are two crazy guys. To use a old SNL line
I had to fix that copper tubing on a Chevy K5 heather core too. I found steel sleeve bushing that fit snuggly inside the copper tubes. I can now apply more pressure t the clamps without them collapsing on me.
Next on Storage Wars!
I'd love to have one like that with air conditioning
It actually holds beet juice
ray come on, you dont really beleive that truck has 8,000 miles, or even 18,000 miles.
