  1. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Backpacker Central says:

How would you replace a bearing like that

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Christian Paul says:

Maybe I'm naive but can't believe Chrysler was still using drum brakes in 2008. Have to believe it's not cheaper to just use discs for everything.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don Ash says:

Lol you didn't show how you got the drum off

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Martin Gjellestad says:

What is the name of that tool used to clean out rust inbetween wheel bolts?

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Washer says:

I must be getting old, but, I'd have sworn the adjuster was on the opposite end of the shoes from the slave cylinder on drums. I don't think I've done a drum brake in 40 years however..

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Armorer 94 says:

One minute I'm watching a repair video and the next it's "The Godfather" with brakleen.

Thumbs up for ol lady ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ` says:

First of all, anybody who has that round thing in the middle of the assembly, don't be a dingdong like me and make sure NOT to spray brake clean there. Just trust me on this one.

Second, I don't know how it is with the employees there at Napa Bath, but here in the city slicker land, they hire young kids. Sometimes first jobs. and they don't give a hooey about your rotors. Come back mostly gone and whittled away or warped or whatnot.. maybe you guys have better ethics near the amishland

Ps, the big pain in the ass thing also is to set the parking brake so it is about 3-4 clicks needed to hold. Big pain because sometimes that required taking part of the console apart so a lot of techs don't do it.

And something about partially assembling some of the springs and then slipping it over the hub. If the application permits. Otherwise you do that spring dance we all know.

Good job Weston like you alot

When you sprayed her down the second time and had that glorious music and the slow mo… just majestic… absolutely killed me lmao

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brad Olliver says:

I am not a mechanic although I have been repairing cars for almost 50 years. I have special tools for disc brake and drum brake repair. My wife catches me using long nose Vise Grips on drum brakes. I will try to explain to her now I am not the only one that does not use the "correct" tools all the time. Thanks for the help!

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Belongie says:

Late to the party on this one. Quick question if anyone knows. I was doing the drum brakes on a Ford Escape and the parking brake spring was not that easy to move back and forth? Is that normal to be so easy to do?

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MrShowwoff says:

    Slo-mo was hilarious.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeff Hitchcock says:

Brakleen is my choice for cologne on date night. The Mrs is a big fan.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin G says:

Hey Eric, My first car was a 63 Corvair I paid $15.00 for it. Had 4 diff tires, battery dead and shot oil out of the dipstick. Needed breaks. I went to the local junk yard (auto salvage for break shoes. Learned to bleed the breaks by myself using a concrete block leaning on the brake pedal. Ran alchohol to clean out oil passages.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 27jtroyer says:

why not replace the drums ? more cost effective for the customer. labor to turn is on par what drums cost

    Rep that Napa !!!

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Blake Waddell says:

I donโ€™t mind doing drum brakes luckily I work for Toyota and we rarely see them all my cars except the two newest out of 6 have drum brakes one has drums all the way around but honestly I have owned each of those cars for years and havenโ€™t had to do the drum brakes on them at all

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Franks Precision Guesswork says:

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Waclo says:

No mask or eye pro ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. That cleaner hits a splash back pocket and you are into an eyeful ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I know.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Earl Richardet says:

Thanks Eric. I've done a few back brakes in my day and yet, i still learned a couple of tricks. Cheers

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Don Burky says:

Thatโ€™s the thing with drums you need at least 3 cans of Break clean. Iโ€™ve used almost an entire can for the initial clean

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Raging Bull says:

Did the rear drums on my 3/4 ton GMC Van, that fucking SUCKED

Please post another video. It has been eight days since this one, and I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. A brake job. Anything with a wrench in it.

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Ferguson says:

Here in Alabama married men don't wear wedding rings.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Leck says:

Love it. Never enough brake jobs, but would love to see another transmission swap, a rear main seal on a Honda, or a Subaru head job.

Bought a shirt and cup (love it) but would like a shirt with the pocket and little better material. Little to thin, just my opinion. Can we make that happen?

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cruzmgt says:

    Really…mood music for a Chrysler !!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BUZ1952 Z says:

I would like to see brake jobs on the new electric parking brake and how to reset the parking brake.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars WOTStang says:

"Clickty-Clack, don't talk back" Your sense of humor mirrors mine exactly when i'm working on cars. Exactly something i would have (and probably have) said! Makes the videos even more enjoyable – on top of being the best teacher I've ever had. Keep out the great work (and jokes!)

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Benjamin Stockton says:

    Good video Eric O.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Your Name says:

woaahhhh I never seen a Sebring with drums. All I have seen and owned was discs all around! Very very interesting!

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Adobeman says:

Mr O, please wear some safety glasses especially when working with the springs. You never know when one will surprise you and we all love you too much to see you get hurt!

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric Turner says:

Hey Eric, what's the best way to extract a snapped off bolt? There's no rust, so I'm hoping I can get it out. I was installing a skid plate on my truck and got a little overzealous tightening a bolt into the frame. ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ The good news is that I put anti-seize on it ๐Ÿคฃ.

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bill delete says:

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Young says:

Hi Eric wanted to ask you for a while love your diagnostic stuff but I do notice that you do spend a lot of time diagnosing faults, how do you charge for that, where I work most of the diagnostic stuff is done at one charge ยฃ48 I(n the uk) for 1/2 hour which usually will end up as just a fault code read and possibly some other small checks as time allows, for more complicated stuff we tend to phone the customer and ask for more time, do you do that, or do you have a higher charge for diagnostic stuff which allows you more time to start off with or do you lose money to properly diagnose.
Does this mean you lose custom as a result of the higher cost?.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Na says:

I wanna know what trouble shooting light he's using in his videos. Seems like the cat's meow. I'd like to own one.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tyler McGonigal says:

Good morning Eric. I watched your broken brake bleeder screw videoโ€” what easy out kit do you have / recommend? Love your videos, thanks a million.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Max Williams says:

Are you still doing the Eden gardening? Really enjoyed watching those vids. That new JD is nice, and I'm jealous but Old Red is one of my favorites. Maybe its because I worked for IH for 42 years.
