Come along as I swap out a rusted out oil pan on a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country with the big 3.3 liter. The money light is also on and that takes a surprising twist that you get to see in part two.
-Enjoy!

Ah i see it has the classic Chrysler droopy liner. I just replaced the oil sending unit on my dodge 3.7. The leaky sending unit turned my steering rack mounting bushings into goo from the constant leak.
I lived in California before leaving the US and have never heard of replacing an oil pan for anything other than impact damage. That salt they use on the roads is so destructive one would think a better alternative would be found.
Looking forward to the part dos. Once again, love your videos. Thanks for taking us along!
That 3 key-ons thing is great (for codes)!!!
On my son's nissan, you have to key on 3 times, padal down for 10sec, then key on twice again, then run around the car twice, then sacrifice a lamb, and repeat till the solar eclipse.
Sorry bud…I love your videos, but I adore your wife! 🙂
Opps, may bad words Eric?,thanks for the video.
Bought an ‘04 Dakota with 216k off the original owner. 3.7 liter ran perfectly.
I pulled the ORIGINAL spark plugs out of the engine!!!
The center electrode was burnt down BELOW the porcelain on all 6 plugs.
I still have no idea how the engine was even running.
I always used the Mopar grey silicone.
You big tease! We got the brake clean, we got the NAPA Gold (Which is made in the same factory as WIX!), we get the lessons, but now you make us wait for the money shot! HaHAHaHaHa!\
I joke, but what you said inn this video has real value, for those who are unaware. It's one of the reasons that I follow you for. You are a real Mechanic, like me (35+ years now). The other reason is that you show folks that they can do these jobs themselves. I am big on the Right to Repair. So before this gets too long, I'll end it with something applicable.
When you go to repair it, ask yourself, is it cheaper to keeper!
Have a great day, Sir. And God bless you and you family. o7
Wait what? I have to WAIT for part 2??? What kind of customer care is that? 😀
Always leave them wanting more, Mr. O. Always leave them wanting more. You are THE consummate professional.
I like the black silicone from Isuzu good results I’ve had with oil sealing
I'd expect the oil pan to be the LAST thing to rust out
I always had good luck with fel pro.
I'm so glad to hear somebody else's wipers squeaking. No matter what brand I put on my car, within a month or so they start driving me crazy with the windscreen music.
Thank god I live in Australia where we don't salt our roads so our cars generally don't rust much underneath
If Eric O and Rainman Ray got together and had a shop midways of the US people would come from across the country to get them to work on their vehicles. 2 of the most trusted mechanics I know, for sure. Take care, Eric. And take care of Mrs. O. Don't let her keep outshooting you. Ya making us guys look bad…LOL.
I have learned so much from this guy, Thanks Mr. O for all the valuable knowledge through out the years.
So he's not a mute!
Oil pans can rust?
OMG, I hope you remember to hit record in part II.
i really i wish i lived near you, your so good at what you do and honest. keep up the good work
Another PRNY oil pan bites the dust.
Since Rainman ray on" vacation" we need Xtra brake clean scenes lol
I'm heavy equipment. Wish I could have an easy oil pan replacement like that. Just once…
Great stuff, waiting for the next instalment
This is why I change ny plugs evey 30k miles
loved your Brake Clean sound, shades of Rainman…. oh, you gonna send him a check for borrowing that sound??? I hear he is on the bread line this week.
Cool ignition diag trick is to put a 3-4” piece of vacuum line between the coil and each plug wire engine will run fine but you can use your test light to short out individual cylinders to find contribution issues. It works because the carbon in the vacuum line will carry the spark
Decent mechanic, absolute master of segue into the closing.
Eric…I VERY much enjoy all your videos, & I have been watching them since day one. I have to tell you that no site I watch on YouTube has as much noise as yours. Traffic noise, the damned "High Noon Siren, rattle guns operating in another bay, the air compressor pumping up, the shop extension of the telephone ringer,
& other extraneous noises. Your shops sounds like a Romanian steel mill starting up. When I select your "channel"…I first down down my local audio. Mrs. "O", is a marvelous adjunct to your clips. I can't believe the size of your kids…….has it been that long ? What a great asset you & your shop are to your clients. I enjoy your clips with Ivan from Pine Hollow, & your dual diagnoses as a team. Small town American business man….God Bless you all.
Your ratchet is smooth and quiet I have headphones on and can barely hear it
I learn something every time I tune in. You are a genius. Thank You.
I knew I shouldn't have Doubted Mr. Eric O. blowing out the crud from the sparkplug. I'm sorry Mr.O 🙁
Why didn't you replace the O-ring for the oil pickup tube? wouldn't it be better to replace it now since you have the pan down?
Again very entertaining I look forward to the next video got me wanting more!!😊
You can always tell what section of town you're in by the amount of oil leaks on the pavement.
No oil spots on the street means that residents can afford newer cars that don't leak oil.
You can always pick out the low income rental house in the neighborhood!
A friend of mine had a 2006 town and country with 380000 miles on it still run perfect I had a 05 had 180000 on it when I sold it
so no wonder your wife is still there. You're good at faking. Mr O never seizes to amaze
We called them the oil sump in the U.K. pans are what we Cook our food in over here . I use to own a car with 3 Conventional coils it also had 3 sets of Points fixed to front of crank shaft the engine was two stroke 999cc 3 cylinder it was one of the best cars I have owed wartburg an east Germany car I wish I still had it the engine was like a turbine
Retired mechanic here, Eric gets it done my friends
Oil leaks are good. They help seal the cracks in the asphalt roadways and on dirt roads help keep the dust down!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
ACREWTUBE ISN'T SHOWING PART 2 BROTHER! THEY'RE SHOQING EVERYONE ELSE INCLUDING POLITICAL ADS! THIS REPREHENSIBLE! YOU SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER GOING TO RUMBLE BROTHER TO GET AWAY FROME THESE LEFTISTS AND ALL THEIR ANTI FREE SPEECH AGENDAS. GOD BLESS YOU MY BROTHER. 🙂💖🥰
06' didn't the message that cars are built to last 7 years get round..
On my 2004 Ford Taurus, you turn the key three times and the car would automatically transport itself to the nearest repair shop.
Glad you compensated for Rainman Ray being absent off the tools for a while – we need our dose of brakeclean. Retired mechanic from land Down Under.
Open Pandora’s box 📦 😅 I like the Leave sleeping Dogs léy 😂
Perfect! Can't wait for part 2.
Ah yes, a common occurrence on 3.3/3.8L Chrysler.. surprised Eric O. didn't do this sooner
The key flash even worked with my 1990 ram 2500. So yeah it’s been around for a good while… 😅must be telling us something
Project Farm has MOPAR fipg the best.
this was filmed on my Birthday.
toyota fipg is great, but what about the right stuff?
This helps me a lot as I have to replace the timing cover O ring's on mine all the shops around me want over $1000 for the job
do have a question. why dont you use cordless? i almost only use cordless.
Haha palm tight and 1/4 turn has always been my 100 to 115in lbs. Us experienced techs have that experienced torque feel! I know it's mostly for the super techies! 👌 Oh brotha…looking forward to the upcoming video drama! Sounds serious by the look of that raggedy spark plug! 🤣 BTW you got my sold on that scraper! Wow that thing scrapes amazing! Thanks for that…I've been missing out for years!
I have never ever seen such rusted plugs. Not even in 50yo junk cars here. Do they salt roads with sulfuric acid there in NYC?
Mrs. O certainly brightens up the day.
Fellow viewers stay tuned to learn how to extract a broken spark plug out of a 3.3 Chrysler.
That oil did not look clean to me.
For decades, Al Gore and the democrats have been telling us the single greatest threat to the world was global warming. Well they lied to us. Contrary to what you've been told, this country's nor the worlds economy run on green energy, it doesn't run on electric cars, it doesn't run on solar panels, it doesn't run on wind power, in this country it runs on diesel fuel. And according to data from the energy information administration, we're about ready to run out of it. So when this happens, remember who to thank, Joe Biden and the Democrats for their war on fossil fuels.
What you can do is sacrifice a socket– and cut a slit down 2 sides of the 5/8 deep socket, and then you can put a heavy duty hose clamp around your socket and tighten it down, and that will grip your rusty bolts much better and give you a fighting chance. My local pawn shop always has buckets of sockets in his shop, so I can go there and grab extra's for this reason, and even snag a few extra 8mm/ 10mm/ 12mm, since they always get lost so much; Why not have extra's laying around everywhere.
I see no part two…
Looks like the trans pan is next.
That oil pan been sitting in acid for a couple years or what? Holy Cow that pan was bad!
Anxious for part 2! I love this channel! (BTW, are you able to get the black unisex hoodies in a 4XL for us fella's with expanded horizons?)
I have never seen rusted plugs before. That salt sure does a job..
Honda Odyssey, 2011 vintage with 230k on her. Code for upper oil pressure sensor after replacing thrice. Oil light always on until the oil gets a quart low, then it will turn off. Can’t explain that one.
Ah the old 9502, Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) for Instructor.
Eric, glad your testing instead of guessing.a true pro. Love the channel.
I cannot believe how bad the rust is on some of these vehicles for the oil pan to be rusted out like that is pathetic unreal love your channel though thank you for showing us the way
Ford used to have that problem the oil pan would rot out.. oil sits in it all the time and it rots out…hummm
Nice little lease on a life for the ol gals motor. Nice little tune up and some other goodies.
spark plug up grade with the editing of the words kids should not hear. Maybe a little knuckle blood. Brass hammer time. can't wait.
I accidentally erased some cool air show video once….grrrrrr
All I use is Napa gold filters. They are getting expensive lately though.
The suspense is killing me!
NAPA Gold oil filter. That's what I use.
You didn’t use the Fel-Pro holds ups! You’re supposed to screw them into the block in four separate areas and then snap the gasket up over them then snap the pan up over them and it will hold them both in place while you can get a couple bolts in and then remove the plastic tools
So what you're saying is. U used a torque wrench and it broke your camera, and I fell out my chair cause Mr O used a T-wrench?
Great video, when you started the engine at the end, you said "contact" was that a reference to another you tuber that says that when he starts equipment.
That water pipe…
12V test light on plug wires?? Interesting!
This is why we have trust issues Eric. Lol jk
You didn't say NAPA, not a sponsor on this one. A lot of NAPA product placement on this video. Could it be that they are now a sponsor? Anyway, great video as always.
I just don't trust this Eric guy.
You totally used the "Contact" by Matt from Deisel Creek!!…love it Mr. O.
I say you invite Rain Man Ray up for a couple days of wrenching. I could say you two could be goofy together
so you didn't have to fix the pickup tube.
That's great both you and rainman ray have the same 'intro sound' for when you pull out the brake cleaner. Hilarious!
The oil pan on my 93 F150 rusted through. That was my last Ford.
ahh much better with the commentary I guess if they build a crap oil pan that rust that easy at least it is fairly easy to change
i sure could have used that gasket scraper on my heating system gaskets they were a mess to scrape off
