I'm going to admit, it came in because they just wanted it to work.. but if it's a temporary fix, they always forget and never follow up.

I'm amazed, not really, that people don't have the common courtesy of at least cleaning the trash out of their vehicle before leaving it for the Tech to work on. The entitlement class is growing exponentially in this country.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars carapace shock says:

Ive been chasing a p0016 code in a 04 trailblazer for quite awhile and its driving me insane.
The code is VERY random.. sometimes a month or more without it coming on.
When it first started coming on I replaced the camshaft position sensor because that was the cheapest and easiest part to replace.
Once that was done, the code did not come back for a month or so, I assumed it was fixed.
When it came back I went to the next part, the VVT. When I removed the connector there was oil in there, I knew the VVT was bad (this is a sure sign)
So I replaced the VVT with a "ac-delco" unit from amazon (I am not sure if it was legit or not anymore)
Code was gone for months.. and then came back. I thought it was because I did not replace the harness due to it being contaminated with oil.
So I replaced the plug…. The light was off again for a month about and came back on so I used seafoam, put it in the crank case and let it go for about 100 miles.
When I put seafoam in, the engine light was on.
A day after, the engine light shut itself off and the code was no longer stored.

Fast forward 3 weeks, to now and the light came back on.
I cleared it and it has not come back on in a few days.

There is not any running or drivability issues.

I have a spare VVT (a known REAL delco) that I am going to put in next week im hopes the one I got from amazon was a fake/defective unit.
if that fails I am forced to take it to a shop. I live in an apartment and am quite limited on the work I am able to do.

    Great channel.

I had the exact same problem in my old car, took out the solenoid and cleaned it as you did and did an oil change and the car drove perfectly after that.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jon Sears says:

I'm pretty sure but the radiator hose shouldn't be best like that. Somebody else had another side right? Top radiator hose where I believe it plugged into the thermostat 9 Minutes 41 seconds.

If they use synthetic oil and change it regularly, that will not happen.

From a year or two ago, Costco started to sell Kirkland Signature Full Synthetic, $25-30 for TWO 5qt jags. That made me don't bother to get Mobil One or Ultra Platinum anymore, let alone Asmoil.
