I've often seen those fuse taps cause problems and bring out the gremlins.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tyg says:

I wasn't hired for a job long, long ago because my extras drawer looked like yours…LOL

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jim hall says:

I saw that isuzu and it sent shivers up my spine. I used to drive one for a furniture rent to own place. Miserable vehicles

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rob Sinbob says:

    Not testing their work.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anthony Crosier says:

Guess u can claim ignorance on not knowing u installed the addafuse upside down!!!?!?!

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Skelton says:

One fuse is negative and the other positive?

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Allan Purl says:

I don't even think it was ignorance.

Our world is one where people only care for themselves, and only for the moment.

I believe this is apathy and a lack of pride.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Skellious says:

well of course the fuse won't work, you put one of them in the wrong way!

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Adam Nichols says:

With the advent of Google, there is no excuse for ignorance. Its willful stupidity.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian J says:

Ignorance and also often times people taking on jobs and not wanting to admit defeat and simply say to the client "Sorry, I don't have enough experience on this matter to do the job properly".. It's truly a shame that it happens quite often

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dv Vaughn says:

    no bro its incompetent

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars HELIFY NOE says:

Plug the addon fuse in first into the adapter. If the addon circuits still do not receive power, then that means that the adapter is plugged in backwards.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Art Gale says:

A test light is best for fuse testing

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Ferreira says:

You know little about testing, and less about those fuse taps.

    1. Use a test light, it will load circuit, and easier to use.

    2. Was obvious that there were no fuses in tap from start.

    3. 13.3 is very low, charging system in that vehicle is 14-14.4

    4. From the wire size fuse shouldn't have been more than 10a. The instructions with those fuse tapes is 10a MAX per circuit, and it was pluged into a 15a circuit.

    5. Since power was on top row, wire exiting MUST be to bottom for it to work.

    6. Original fuse is a micro, trying to use a min fuse tap WON'T work.

The rant at the end applies to the work you just did

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Peterson says:

The fuse tap is installed backwards, basically making a direct un-fused connection

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Bond says:

Never underestimate ignorance at full speed!

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James R Peet says:

    Really interesting

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jlo4 says:

Bro you gave me that habit when a phone ring I say the same sound now!!! Lmfao 🤣

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Edwin McGuire says:

Gonna start a Fire with that 51amp Fuse, better turn it back around. hehe

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lee C says:

Did you rip them off? You don't have a clue if the wire should be up or down, do you?
Pull the fuses, find the wire to which pin of the fuse, make sure it is not to the power side of the original fuse!

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Innovative Solutions says:

I've been dealing with automotive electrical systems for nearly 3 decades. I was a car stereo and security installer back when Rockford Fozgate released the Punch 45. I have worked as an Avionics tech and right now I just work for an independent shop with a laid back environment. Any time a car comes in with electrical issues and aftermarket installations for anything, that's where I look first, the human error.

Those add a fuse things suck, but what's worse is the 'tap a fuse' brass thing that wraps around one blade of the fuse. What happens is that side of the fuse will spread the contacts apart inside the fuse block while the other side keeps the fuse secured.

If the fuse was tapped on the load side, your DMM or test light will show a good fuse. If it was tapped on the source side, you will see a good fuse with continuity testing and move to the next logical step by testing the fuse links or the Maxi-Fuse power source only to find those are good. If you do this kind of work as a DIY guy or as a career and you are reading this comment, I hope this info will save you countless hours in the future. Check for this condition even if you don't see a fuse tap because it may have already been removed.

In my 4 decades of troubleshooting electronics/mechanics/etc, it takes at least 10 people to find a good one, total joke..

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Bayles says:

The irony of the video title,

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Cobratei says:

Yes, Mechanics, not techs working on stuff they shouldn't be working on. But who's fault is it? The owner, They hire people for less money and they think they're getting over and making more of a profit profit but what they're really doing is shooting themselves in the foot. Pay $25 an hour and you'll get we'll get $4000 worth of workout in a week. Get a $35 an hour tech and you well get $5500 – $7000 a week.

"GOOD GROUND or COMMON" in 1960 Dodge built pickup with "all welded construction" that became a problem when welds became resistive which is normal.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Randy Stegemann says:

So did the back-up camera have power, or was it also connected wrong?

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Josh Fenton says:

Even if the fuse had been bad there still would have been power on one side of it.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Beverly Roemer says:

Looks like someone was eating a burrito 🌯 on that fuse panel lid 🫣

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eric says:

First thing ppl should ask when they receive anything to repair is ask the customer if they made any changes recently. Applies to cars, computers, and anything else.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andrew O. says:

    Whats wrong with Libertarianism?

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles Gould says:

    There's no fuse ") ahh:)

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars joseph lafrance says:

    Ads are getting stupid

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars twoeightythreez says:

What blows my mind the most is that the idiot who added the circuit didnt even have the sense to put it back to how it was to see if the problem they caused would go away.

This is not complicated diagnosis and to think that there are people who are so clueless being PAID to do this stuff astounds me. Even more astounding is the people who cant even do something this simple themseves, they have to pay someone else to do it.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars R SSmolik says:

Great info on basic electrical checks. Tbh I don't like working on things I don't know about (what was that jumper feeding???) . I would have put the 15a back in it's original spot, verified the radio n aux worked n told them to return it to upfitters. Glad you had the confidence to repair it, I'm sure the customer was very happy 🙂 . Edit: that last bit about ignorance was SPOT on 👍

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars rock fish says:

You sead A mouth full , bother,,5 thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍,,

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ballistic says:

there's no reason why people should be ignorant about something they're going to do. if you're going to do something and you don't know much about it do some research, please. it will help you out a lot. and not only that but when you buy a part or something sometimes they come with instructions lol. people are just lazy too.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars andrew badger says:

I have a dash cam that came with both fuse fittings think the twank used the wrong one in your case

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Hibbard says:

I bet the customer installed it himself and didn't know what he was doing.

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shilah Puppers says:

If you want to talk about libertarianism you should call The Majority Report. It's a YouTube show.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Boo Yeah says:

I doubt a shop would do that, i mean, asked to install something generally means actually getting it working. I personally think it was a home job done in the driveway.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Legatus says:

Damn this is the first time I see a gas isuzu truck, here in europe instead of a v8 it would have a 5l 4cylinder diesel

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars troublemakingpups says:

    Ray you did good! 🙂🐶

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars garbo says:

Would have been faster to just install a 15 amp fuse into fuse block then check for power at lighter & if radio works.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Constitutional Right says:

They do have a direction they go. The fuse taps. While they will work either direction.. The wire is only connected on one leg of the add a fuse. It needs to go to the hot leg of the fuse panel. Otherwise, you are adding your circuit to the original fuse as well. In other words, you would be getting the hot for your add a wire from the cold side of the original fuse, so pulling your power through the original circuit fuse. On the hot leg, then both the original fuse and the new wire get power from the hot leg and pass only the current for the separate circuit through their separate fuses.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anthony Raines says:
