Customer Customer States Mechanic Fails Engine Transmission Gas Diesel off road race 4x4 street car daily driver scam dealership dealer technician how to

Hello everybody! Good day to you! Welcome back! Glad you guys are here I Know I am super duper glad to be here. We are returning back to this 2003 Chevrolet 2500 Silvero it's the long Bed crew cab. uh, similar to mine long bed crew cab except this is a 2500 single rear wheel. That one's a duy that one's a du I think that's an ' 04 so we got 03 an 04 and an' 07 over there in the corner.

the ' 07 is mine anyways. uh enough of that uh pile of Silverado introduction we got going on in here. Lauren what do you think about this? all these silver AOS uh bu of Silverado shop. it's a we're in truck country that's right anyway.

uh in the last video on this particular truck, uh, we did a whole bunch of tear down on uh on the engine on the passenger side over here. uh, what we were aiming to achieve is to extract the uh, the fuel injectors uh out of this 66 diesel over here. If you guys miss any of the other videos on this one. I'll just go ahead and leave the link down in the uh description of this video and you can go back and time to check out some of the earlier uh, earlier work here including some of the Diag work on the fuel system and again the tear down.

Anyway, what we had found is that this thing is equipped with and they're not the stock units like I thought there are some diesel logic.com remanufactured I Don't even know if you guys can read that it's been uh, kind of laser engraved right here on the injector. but these uh, specific injectors are the cheapest of the cheapest possible imaginable. uh, replacement units that you can put inside of one of these. Duramaxes um I what I did is I did a little bit of research on that company.

What we had found is that uh, when you send them a core, they will test. They'll bench test that core that you sent them and whatever is wrong with it, they will only fix that one specific piece. I Think this is what I've read. It could be wrong, but that's what I've read so far.

Uh, anyway, they'll only fix that one specific component that's wrong. like if it's the the nozzle or the valve inside or the solenoid. uh, or any of the other components. Now first, I had thought that this truck was equipped with the original set of Bosch injectors and like I said, when we pulled those out and I found those diesel logic reand I knew we were on to something.

Uh, I did have a little bit of concern over this. CP3 injection pump right here. It's located below the thermostat housing. That's part of it right there.

you can see right down at the bottom. Yeah! anyway, I was slightly concerned over that injection pump failing to produce adequate, adequate pressure. However, once we found those diesel logic injectors, uh I'm I'm about 92% certain we're on the right path here. So, regardless of whether this thing's going to need a pump one day or not, uh I do understand that it's already been replaced.

so I'm sort of leery about this pump if this may actually be a diesel logic pump as well. and if the way they remanufacture their injectors is the same as they remanufacture the pump. I Uh, I do have a little bit of concern there. however.
Uh, due to the high return rates back to the tank from these injectors. I Believe that Uh, that's going to be about 97% of the problem and that's why we're going to put a set of injectors in there. Uh, no. I'm not going to use the original OE because they had a design flaw.

No, I'm not going to use diesel logic. uh I believe I'm going to go with some SNS Bosch remand. Uh, what SNS Diesel does is they'll take the Uh, the original Bosch cores and they'll remanufacture those to an updated specification to Uh to counter and correct all the design flaws that were in the system. Anyway, that's not what this video is about.

What we're going to do in this video is continue the tear down on this 66. We're going to pull the rest of these fuel lines off and discard those. The two-piece valve cover is going to come apart and we're going to remove that and then once that's gone, we can pull The injector wiring harnesses out from under the valve cover and and then extract the other set of injectors. Now, a lot of you guys have already seen the Uh extraction job on this side and I think that video was like well over an hour long.

so we're going to do this one pretty quick. I've sort of already pregamed it yesterday and I've gone through and broken some of these Fasteners loose. What we're going to do next is is like I said get rid of the fuel lines and then get the covers off So let's go and get started. I'd like to keep this video under 1.0 hours.

so without any further Ado instruction or introduction, let's go ahead and get all this stuff disconnected like I said I Pregamed it. so none of these Fasteners are as tight as they once were. I had about an extra 15 minutes last night and I figured I' figured I'd get this wrench stuck. Come here.

There we go. That one crack loose, nice little snap. We're going to spin all these lines out of here and get this cover removed. I'm wondering what we're going to find I'm assuming we're going to find the same set of diesel logic injectors in here, but you never know.

There we go, that's a manual impact gun. You see that? Just give it a slap or two. it does what you want That did not sound right at all. I was literally commenting on the obvious and it didn't come out right.

Watch out. Sorry, my words can be. They can be twisted very easily. sometimes in the most inappropriate of ways get me in trouble.

They always said my my mouth was my biggest problem. Kind of. it happens. Anyway, Four, these Fasteners are disconnected.

Let's get the lines off the actual injectors here and remove these units. Then we'll go to work on these cover bolts. I Thought I was going to be slick earlier and remove this cover as just a single piece piece. but that's not possible because the injector harnesses have to be removed.
They're bolted to the top of the second half of this uh valve cover. Look at that. It's full of rust in there too. See that right in there.

What happens on these guys? Since they're exposed to atmosphere? On this side, you'll get condensed, uh, water that builds up on top of these fittings and then it'll rust out the top of the lines and any contact or any surface that's not making contact with something. It'll just rust and pull up the water. And then what happens is when you pull these off, it releases that water and then it'll drain down into the crank case and into the engine oil. So if you're ever doing one of these jobs, or ever need to have one of these jobs done, change the oil when you're finished.

I Mean it probably won't kill your motor, but it's just a little bit of water. but still, you don't want to be circulating rust water through your Diel Yeah, that one's fairly similar. A bunch of rust on one side though not the other side. Set that thing off to the side there work.

This next one just keep wrenching wrenching. Folks are wondering how I remember where all the stuff goes when it has to go back together. Um I don't know I don't know how I know where it goes I guess it's just practice on taking things apart and putting it back together. and I guess little little systems that you set up subconsciously to know where things are I mean there's always the shop manual I guess you can.

You can look at the manual. Yeah, bolt load or rust on that one? that's not okay. Get rid of that and the one in the back is going to require a ladder cuz I can't reach back that far I do have a top side creeper but I'm tall enough where I can reach most of everything I need to find inside of this engine compartment. fuel line in the way.

Get Rid Of you? Yeah, that's the line. The updated lines that go back to the uh, that lift pump that's back there When they deleted the uh fuel filter on this uh on this truck during the replacement or the installation of that lift pump, it required installation of different fuel lines because the lines were supposed to run over to that side through the fuel filter assembly housing and then back over and in this case they're just coming up right here and then they run straight into the Uh into the fuel pump the the injection pump down below here. Let me let me show you I happen to have another Duramax nearby. it's also an Lb7 I'll show you what I mean Over here is where that housing is supposed to be and it has been admitted because this truck has that Uh Electric Lift Pump.

Yep right here that is our Factory style fuel filter assembly right there. So we got the the red filter notice. we installed a bald one good stuff. This right here that is the primer pump.

So when you install a new filter you can pump this thing up and draw your fuel back into it and uh Purge out all the air. So anyway that truck does not have that because that truck has a Uh an electric unit that's been it has been upgraded with which actually really streamlined my my diagnostic procedure very quickly because I did not have to do a vacuum check on the system because there is no vacuum on on this fuel system. Usually what'll happen is the CP3 pump has to draw its own fuel so it's got It's got it three Pistons inside to create the pressure for the fuel and it's got a little set of Gears that mesh with each other. Uh, running.
I Think it's running off a cam or running off the gear. Uh, that drives the pump. Anyway, it's got a Basically it's got a lift pump built into the pressure pump so that lift pump is designed to suction all the fuel from the filter housing which then suctions fuel from the tank. So it's A.

It's a non pressurized system, but we you can add that electric pump that we found down the frame rail and then that eliminates the rest of that Mojo nonsense I Wouldn't really do it that way though if this were. if that were my setup, I would just add the pump with the extra filters and then keep the factory filter in its location because it's it's an extra filter. It couldn't hurt, so why not? But this one has had the thing emitted so it is what it is. It works anyway.

I'm babbling. Let's keep going. We've got to get these. uh Allen keys Fasteners Out There's uh, several of them around the perimeter of this gasket.

We'll pull those units out next and then, uh, get the I said gasket not valve cover and then we'll get the top half of this cover pulled away and I believe that's the right one. Yer So we're going to pluck all these guys out one at a time. Except for that, that one I Thought I had broken that loose and turns out I think I just stripped it out. That's fun.

that's not okay at all. Break loose, don't break off. There we go. Got it? These things are hard hard to get out of here.

Come out little. Fastener I'm glad I broke all these loose and pregamed it like I said. There we go now. I Already took out two of those and looks like we've got like one or two in the back.

I Have to get those by hand and then we'll get this cover removed. All right coming in curvy, angular pry bar in action. I'm gonna go under this little tab right here on the top side of this cover and just give it some pry action back. We'll see if we can't can't crack her loose There She Goes Separating that silicone sealant and the top half of our cover has been liberated.

There she goes. Okay, so on the other side, in the last video, I made an error in judgment and thought I could unbolt this, uh, this lower valve cover gasket and leave the injector harnesses alone. Uh, that was incorrect I need to pull off all these connections for these injectors and then pull the brackets off. Once the injector harnesses have been removed.
then I'll be able to pull this lower cover off. And that was my error on the last video. Took me a minute, wasted a little bit of time but I got through it. So first things first.

let's get the 7 mil nuts loose off of the inject. s These Uh wiring connectors are bolted on with good reason. These are high vibration environments here. Let's crack these guys loose and we can spin them off.

Get the harnesses out of the way. Let's grab those two in the back. There we go now. I Broke them loose by hand because I didn't want to shock them with the Uh the ratchet it for fear of actually breaking the harness connector itself.

Sometimes they can spin around and yank the wire out. That would not be okay. When in doubt, don't break things words to live by train's coming. All right.

The wires are disconnected. We need a 10 mil. there's four Fasteners and then this whole harness will lift free and come out from under the cover. All right 10 mil deep.

Well coming in. Let's not lose these or drop them down in the engine. Okay, that's two units in the tray. two more out back there we go.

That's one harness free and removed. See, it's got its connector. two pins for each injector and two connectors for each injector. There's one of those units and second one right here.

free and clear. Set these aside. now we can pull the perimeter Bolt out of the bottom half of this cover and get this thing removed. All right now.

we're going to go after those hard to reach places. There's still some obstruction action going on here. Oh, that one's loose. Wonder if I did that yesterday? Uh yayen to off to.

this one is not loose. Let's see if it's going to strip or come out and it's not feeling too hot. Hammer Time need to hammer that one in. Weird, Very, very awkward and unfortunate angles here.

Let's get a uh, let's get this extension on there. Can you guys see what I'm doing? I don't think so. I'm going to try to rotate you around this direction here a little bit. Maybe you can see what we're all trying to see.

That's not much better. but I'll work with it. Okay, extension, that's on the sockets on where's me, little Mallet Hammer Hammer Hammer H Everything's a hammer including this. uh, this ratchet right here I Walked away for a minute and forgot where I put my hammer I'll fetch it in a moment though.

no worries. I'll find it. Come on, come loose. There we go.

Nice crack. that's how you know it came off Okay, one more back in that corner man. So I was looking for this hammer and it was like right in front of me. See what happens when you walk away? you forget and I hit you guys with it too.

You walk away. forget things. Maybe that's just me I Walk away and forget things. It happens.

There's too much in the brain and I don't have enough. RAM I Run out of a random access memory. I'm loose. Nope, that's turning.
that's not coming. Not okay. Scary. Tell you what.

I'm going to pull this bracket off, try to gain some more clearance here. Get in there. No Yes, no Yes. that was absolutely horrifying.

That was tight, tight, squeeze. stuff that down there. more. Hammer ding Text message That's very much in the way.

It's foiling my plans. Seriously, please come out there. She goes. that was close.

That one was a I Was watching it and it started to yield the Fastener but it came loose. This is good. Okay, way out back. the the hardest one.

I'm going to go ahead and pull that one out right now. That's the one way off in the corner to switch to the shorty socket to get that out. and there's one more right here. and I I can't really get a tool on it.

The firewall is in the way that one's concerning me. slightly. so little sockets down there on that. Fastener Let's try to kind of tap it down some.

oh, what a squeeze that is. Maybe behind the steering column? Oh, there we go. Kind of. Um, yeah.

well. I've got the Fastener or the uh, the tool on the Fastener There's an extension in the way or out of the way. actually the extension's running over past the column and I I think I have enough line of sight here to turn that little nut. Oh yeah, it came loose.

That one was not as tight as the others. meaning the the last guy couldn't get a good bite on that uh, that Fastener either. And they got it as tight as they reasonably could. That's good.

Thank you Last guy for not ruining my life on this uh particular bolt back here cuz this is, uh, that's a not okay yeah look, my little tool is hitting the firewall right now. it's not even clearing it. and I can't turn that by hand here. All speed there we go.

All right here. It comes there. She is good. Okay, that's the hard one.

Oh nope, not done yet. There's one more right here just under these fuel lines. So let me try to get this guy out. Last one.

I Think last one to break loose and then we can spin them out with the ratchet. Get that thing to seat inside of that. Uh, Fastener we're in good shape here. I think I think that's in turn.

There we go. Onclick action achieved. Got it? So that's that last one. I think on the cover.

let me dig this this Fastener out and then we'll hit the rest of them with the electric ratchet. In fact, I grow weary of not using the ratchet here there and I'm stuck. See what? I did it unthreaded and then ran the ratchet against the steering column. There's our bolt.

Okay, now we'll switch out to the extended socket again and pull the rest of uh, all these Fasteners off of this lower cover. Yeah. I Told you guys we were going to do this quickly and I'm taking forever. Just like the last side.
trying to go fast here. Pull these guys out mine next. Beautiful. That one's stuck.

Come unstuck. There we go. Got it next and they just get harder as we go. Well, there's less space.

it's not really harder here. we go. three more. I think we're down to I think just one or two or three left over.

You guys hang out right there. Let's see, there's one at the bottom here. two and then I think I've got the one up here at the top. Yeah, there we go.

back to the bin with you and two more and one more or not that one's I don't think I got that one loose yet I may have made an eror again. let's find out. Oh and there's no way I got that loose. The thing's full of dirt.

You can see a bunch of dirt inside of the head of that. Fastener where is my pick? We'll pick the dirt out. Come on dirt. Okay, socket going back in I swear I thought I had broken that one loose but I guess I did not hammer.

get on there. okay. last one. I think there she goes.

Perfect. That's what I wanted. Nobody stripped out and broke. good.

Okay, it's a quick visual check. Three up in the front. all the ones on the top are removed. that one back there, one at the bottom, that one and all those those guys are all disconnected.

It's time to break the seal and uh, crack this cover loose. How do I do that with the last one? Did I use the screwdriver or the angular pry bar. Let's try it. the screwdriver real quick.

maybe? Yeah yeah. look right here. Perfect spot to get under it. Yep.

screwdriver in there and give it a Twist and the thing came right up. That's good. Well sort of. nice.

nice, nice, nice, nice, nice, nice baby. Reminded myself of the Vanilla Ice song you Guys Remember Vanilla Ice Let take it way back in the day like Ninja Turtles Go Ninja Go Ninja Go Go Ninja Go Ninja Go. Oh we're stuck. Oh no.

Look my fuel line got us stuck. We're stuck on stupid. That's not okay. Come out of there you here.

she comes. come out. got her. Okay, this one goes right over there.

We'll set you down. What fell out of that? Oh one of the guides for the bolt. Okay, all right right. Well now we need to get these.

uh, these ones out. Those are the bypass or the return line Bolts from the injector. So the last ones wanted to strip out pretty bad and I had to use a uh like an easy out fluted turbo socket. That's what I call them a turbo socket to get the thing out.

I'm going to try again on this one to use the proper tool to extract those and if they're going to strip then we'll just go with the uh, easy outs one more time and get the is removed cuz you can always destroy it. Always Okay, that one's in need My rat. Okay, we've got a Moment of Truth coming up here. Is this thing going to come loose? Or is it going to strip and it's going to strip? Yep.

Okay, well looks like we're using the turbo sockets then. Yep. Here we go see how we've got all those little blades in there. What those are going to do is capture the outside of that Fastener and then we're going to crack that loose so it should self align and and dig in all on its own.
I shouldn't have to hammer it. y There She Goes digs right in. give it a pull and it cracked loose. That was so tight it started to twist the line.

Did you guys see that? That was? Uh, that was interesting. Anyway, tighten it back up on the other direction to get my socket off then I'll come back in real quick like here and we can crack it Loose again. There we go. So I'll repeat three more times.

I'm not even going to try with the the center bolt after five of them didn't come off or with the uh. the Allen Bolt after five didn't come off. I Don't expect the other three to do anything unclick. Nice.

spin the ratchet back around. Get my tool back. two more to go next, one unclicks and the one in the back. that one's far back to my ladder.

reaching. Got it? Now get my tool back one more time. we're done with that for the moment. socket.

coming back in or uh Allen bit coming back in rather feel I have Corona virus brain. you know that brain fog you get I'm feeling like the brain fog stupid bioweapon here that one. Okay, so they're all four loose I need to get the 12 mil that's on the output side of that line right there. that's on the back of the head, right over there in the corner.

We'll go in and P that guy off next. it's going to be. It's going to be that one right there. We'll come in with the electric ratchet.

Neutral. Drop it. There we go. Okay, there's the banjo for the bolt for the banjo fitting.

Rather pop that little gasket seal out of there. Set that aside now. I Just need to pull all of the fast ERS off of the injectors here. We'll unthread those guys.

It's going to leak some fuel everywhere cuz there is fuel in that line. What's up darling? Oh nothing. just watching you. You're just watching me.

I'm watching you. What are you watching me doing? Uh, sticking your hand down there. Oh yeah, whatever you're doing I'm twisting nuts. They didn't come out right.

We were talking about that earlier. The things I say cuz sometimes they don't come out right. Then people get mad at me. They're like this is a family channel and you're talking about twisting nuts, twisting nuts.

Disgraceful. Well, that's what they're called right I Mean you know I could be twerking or something, right? There's a there are other ways that people. oh don't Oh my God. Look what I'm doing I'm about to drop my Fasteners no, don't move.

don't even look at it. Do you want a magnet? No no no no no no I saved it. Look, it's right right there. Oh there it is.

Where' my towel go? Did I have? didn't I have a and then it fell Anyway, he had a towel in there. Look at that. look at that. hang on.
there's one more in the back I Can't believe my towel fell down too. This is how you blow up stuff later on. see that that is not okay. My towel fell into the in there.

where in that hole? Where in there? Oh yeah, I knew that one was there. No this one. Look there was one. here, but it fell down and now it's in there and you can't see it from here.

So if one were to knock it down even farther, you're going to get in some trouble. Hang on I need to regroup you woman. You're distracting me. sorry, like so bad you want some more coffee? Yeah I had this under control and you came over and your your prettiness was distracting me.

Oh sometimes on occasion there now I've got all those. Get all my pieces accounted for here that goes over there. that's the seal and I need to get that hose or hose I need to get that uh towel out of the hose. This should be interesting to do.

H I know I know screwdriver is not going to do it. that's just going to push it down further. or but I have something that may achieve the goals. Not that, where's my M walkes I've got some yeah, yeah, even those.

Long Reach curvy, angular rounded needle noses. Those are the ones that I want. All right, climbing back up in here. We're going to get that towel out of there right now.

Aha see that I did that to prevent things from going down into the tube and uh, my efforts were ineffective there. Okay, so got the return line removed now I Just need to, uh, get the injectors pulled out and this segment will be, uh, complete. We'll be waiting on parts after the after prep and after cleanup. So the uh comment section the other day said that uh, these injector hold down bolts were onetime use only.

um I Didn't see any notes on the injector work orders for one time use only hold down bolts. Um, let me guys or uh, you guys, let me know if that is true or not if I've got to replace these hold down bolts cuz if I do and they're a onetime use only Fastener I will not be reusing them. not on a job like this cuz that's the kind of stuff where uh makes you have to do it again and I wouldn't mind doing this job a second time. but I don't want to do it for free cuz that'll take like 3 days out of my life.

Let's get that next one loose was I talking too much again. Ramble ramble babbling oh it's not seating in there. Get in there you silly thing. What is this unclick? That one's loose and then the one in the back? That's the hard one cuz there's these flipping fuel lines here here I now there that doesn't work either.

Seriously? need a bungee cord or something to hold on to that? Whatever. Let's go around it on the back side here. Wiggle that in unclick and it's slipping. It's not in that'd be great.

I Rri that one out. that'd be absolutely horrible to strip that bolt, head out. Come loose. Yeah.
I'm replacing these. I've just decided that thing started to yield some and I don't want yielding bolts. Nobody wants yielding bolts. All right.

come out. Game over now. I can just spin that thing out by hand and extract the bolt spinning. spinning.

Yep, there is the Fastener put that in the pile and then I can walk these remaining three out. do it again. do the exact same thing. that was an issue.

Just repeat. Insanity That's what it is. it's all. Insanity Okay, that's two of those guys out number three.

I'm assuming that uh, these injectors are also those uh, those diesel logic units that we found on the other side. We're going to find out in a minute. Yeah. I Can't imagine somebody would replace half of the injectors unless it was at of dealership.

The dealers will do that. They'll replace half of something until they get enough repeat failures that they finally capitulate and say, okay, you can change the whole system. That's what they were doing with the the lifters on the 53s and 62s that had us first. uh, just replacing half the lifters.

And then when the other side failed, they had us go back and replace the other half when they should have just been having us do the whole set. But you know, got to be cheap. Okay, so we need to grab one of the injector lines here, which will serve as a handle. Show you what I mean, take that, screw it back on to the injector itself and then we can give that thing a good tug.

Ooh ooh, these ones are not coming out as easily as that other side was. Get out of there you. I'll stick a slide hammer on you if I have to. Yeah yeah, see you.

threaten it some and it decides it's going to do what you want. Dang, that's not looking too happy. Look at that all rusted out. Is this a diesel logic or whatever? Yeah, yeah.

same one. I can see the marking right there. H Okay, that looks horrible. Let's see.

we'll keep these in order. Move that nater over Nater, you go here. We'll put all these ejectors over here in a line. I'll take my handle back.

Okay, one is out. Three more to go. All right, we got one. Let's get injector luminal dulse.

thread the fuel line into it, drop the hole down on the frame rail. no worries, it didn't hit the ground I know where it's at. So again, another one of those uh, questionable quality injecting units. o look at that, that injector line is full or that Inlet is full of that rust water we were talking about earlier.

I Guess that's a Lb7 thing. Okay, there's that. one came right out. no problem is and the hold down came with it.

Okay, that one the uh copper Crush Washer is still down in the hole I Have to dig that out and then our last one. Let's see what we get here. Come out, you don't be stubborn good. So it came out.

Need to climb back up on my ladder here. Get back there and grab a hold of that hold down clamp device. There she is injector and the hole down. That's weird.
This one has a an orange gasket and the others had purple gaskets. Is this a different manufacturer? This one is not engraved. Oh okay. this is a different injector than uh than those other units.

Look at here. Orange gaskets. Purple gaskets. This one has like some little grooves or whatever kind of machined into it.

This one does not have the grooves. Oh look it right there. Look at that right there. that's a folded out o-ring Booyah We have identified another problem that's an installation problem.

lack of lubric ation when that O-ring went in. Look at that. Dang. Okay so I need to fetch got one more copper ring that's in there.

Let me dig that guy out down inside of this hole. Here we need to pull it out with a pick that Crush seal down in the bottom of the injector cup. There she is tell phone ringing you know while we're at it I don't think I got The Crush Washer out of this front cylinder as well. or either either either either I don't remember yeah I I see her down in there? That one's that one's kind of caked in with some debris.

What that's about? Probably that O-ring that was leaking but a bunch of rust water get down inside of there. There it is and the one in the back that one didn't come out either. Reach down in that hole I can't see anything down there that's have to feel it cuz I can't see it I got the pick in I heard it about you H I need to climb the ladder and switch hands I can feel it better with my right hand cuz I'm righty TIY that doesn't work I'm going to have bust out a mirror so I can see what I'm trying to see. Oh got it.

Yeah, that's right I've got nerve endings in the end of my screwdrivers. There we go. Okay, all the crush washers have been removed. Now we're coming up on a parts hold I need to uh I need to clean all the dirt off of here, prep the surface for resealing with the uh, new head gasket or the the new valve cover gasket.

Words: Got to prep that for the new gasket and clean it all up. Rinse everything out of this engine so we don't have a a bunch of dirt hanging out up here in the cylinder head that's going to contaminate our oil. and then when our new parts arrive, we can get those injectors reinstalled and uh, we'll get this thing put back together, fired back up and we're going to see how she runs with the set of uh, good injectors, not the uh El Cheo don't do anything except Rebox them and rewash them injectors. So anyway, guys, having said all that, I have nothing more to offer you in this particular video.

Uh, other than to thank you for watching this video again, Let me know what you think about this project down in the comment section below. Do not forget to tap that like button wire down there. and most importantly, have yourselves a fan! Fantastic day! See you guys later in video in Theor: Max LBZ 66 Injector Job Uh, Part Two: Part three: I Think in a day in a transmission. See you guys later.
Thanks again.

I had injectors replaced on my '04 LB7 and I bought everything needed to replace myself. I did not buy new injector clamp bolts nor did I buy new injector fuel lines. Those items were reused. What I di buy new was an installation kit which included all new gaskets, seals, O-rings and crush washers. I also supplied new oil and filter plus new Dex Cool and distilled water to mix with the Dex Cool. I also paid they mechanic $650.00 for his labor.

I could not do any of this job with the tools available to me. The cost of all the tools has to be approaching the cost of having you do all of the work on this engine. I am not a mechanic. The only thing I can do is an oil change and maybe change a hose so to the dealer I go. It is so amazing to me to watch the professionals like yourself do these complex jobs and what amazes me too is all the professional specialty tools you must own to do your job. Would I bet wrong in saying that you have to have the highest quality and at least when added together 10 grand or more. I may be on the low side. WOW!!

With all of the shiny new tools i see on your channel it was nice to see you havent given up on your old ball peen hammer , you can’t beat a good steel headed hammer to take the place of a collection of various wannabe hammers. I paint my hammer head bright orange for easy identification. And i have to add as a part time mechanic now i am a big supporter of turbo sockets as you call them. My set has a special place in my special tools drawer. Well worth the price ! And you haven’t connected your shop buzzer to your landline phone yet , guess you don’t want to drive yourself crazy with every phone call received .

  53. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @larryberry2436 says:

Back in the early 2000s, I was in a Chevy shop where a tech was working on an early dirtymax. He had the injectors hooked to a fuel rail over a garbage can (how appropriate). He pressurized the rail to see how many were leaking. GM would not replace all of the injectors under warranty, just those that could be proven leakers. I looked over at the engine and saw the word Isuzu cast on the head. I said to him oh well, better than the old 5.7s. He agreed.

A little story about a pick up tool (for rags and non-magnetic items). Ages ago I found that there are sales at Ham Fests, where I could find all kinds of interesting items, like measuring instruments, connectors, cables and tools. This story is about forceps. I found some about 15” long, and bought one for a pal at the place where I worked. Almost immediately it showed its value in picking up screws, nuts and washers from the bottoms of the cases, steel sheetmetal, and no good for the magnetic pickers. Well, the following year I bought one more for another pal that had similar needs. It turned out to be a mistake, because the third year and all years after, there were no more of these marvelously long forceps available. Should have bought all 1/2 dozen when they had been available! This was inspired by your paper towel retract operation, for which you ended up with another suitable tool.
