2003 Chevrolet Silverado 66 Duramax Diesel That's the Lb7 right there customer. States Long crank, no starting and it will stall. Once you get it running, it'll stall and leave you stranded. After about a mile on the suspecting that the injectors had a high rate of return fuel, headed back to the pump.

We pulled them out on the passenger side of this. Duramax and look what I find here I Don't know if yall can see that Diesel logic.com You guys ever hear that Diesel logic.com I Went to their website, found out that's the cheapest possible fuel injector imaginable for this truck and I'm wondering if we just have a poor quality reman. What do you guys think? Would you spend 14 hours worth of labor to install some really, really, really? Cheapo Parts Not. I.

Why waste time with junk like that if you are gonna pay the labor to install….may as well go OEM or QUALITY aftermarket part at that point

As a former diesel owner, one thing you learn VERY quickly NEVER cheap out on parts.

WHYYY? Would anyone cheap out? Would a shop do this? Must of been "I know a guy" install.

This is what happens when you can't do the math! There are those who must learn the hard way. No excuses, learn to do the math, or pay!

Absolutely not. You usually get exactly what you pay for.

44th! It never pays to buy cheap parts. The cost in the long run outweighs the penny pinching to begin with. Roger in Pierre South Dakota

Time to do the work is a BIG factor for me when determining what parts I get.

I don't mind the cheaper options, such as remanufactured alternators with limited lifetime warranty and the like. If it fails, it's covered by the warranty and it's easy enough to replace (in most cases).

But if I have to spend a day or more to replace the parts? Screw the cheaper parts options, I'll happily pay more for OEM just to avoid the time and work required for a potential rework job later.

    My time is valuable.

As is so often the case, you usually get what you pay for. I'm sure they were fine for a while, but in the long run you end up spending more money not only having to buy another set but paying for the labor twice too.

If I spent that much time to do the job, I would not use cheap parts, but good quality ones.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @Tropikaybay says:

I’m guessing the warranty from this company is a buyer’s nightmare. And they don’t pay the labor.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @patrickreynolds801 says:

In truth there probably is one or two bad injectors of the 8. It's a crap shoot on quality. All depends on failure internal in the injector and what is actual " reman" most common rail " Bosch" injectors will suffer the same fate. High return flow.

I had to replace my 6.0 powerstrokes injectors. With all the work it took me i used ford injectors. Didnt want to do that again anytime soon. That wasnt a fun job.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @steveb6103 says:

It's a different story for me. My truck is used for work. If it goes down, it costs me $150/ hr. So I can't take the risk of faild parts. So only new will do! I do my own repairs.

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @polaroy2 says:

Ugh, cardinal rule for LB7s is to use quality injectors, no remans. OR if you must use remans, get them rom a quality manufacturer.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @terryjacobs2536 says:

Where do you draw the line at cost of parts? Surely anything that forms a major essential part of the engine is worth spending money on, or was this customer previously ripped off? Looking forward to part 3 Ray…

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @lokigames5091 says:

I will never use cheep parts

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @Chavagnatze says:

The problem isn't them being inexpensive. The problem is that their quality is low. On the other end of the question, should you spend $800 per injector or $450 each knowing both products perform the same after 50,000 miles?
