After about a mile on the suspecting that the injectors had a high rate of return fuel, headed back to the pump.

Why waste time with junk like that if you are gonna pay the labor to install….may as well go OEM or QUALITY aftermarket part at that point

As a former diesel owner, one thing you learn VERY quickly NEVER cheap out on parts.

Time to do the work is a BIG factor for me when determining what parts I get.
I don't mind the cheaper options, such as remanufactured alternators with limited lifetime warranty and the like. If it fails, it's covered by the warranty and it's easy enough to replace (in most cases).
But if I have to spend a day or more to replace the parts? Screw the cheaper parts options, I'll happily pay more for OEM just to avoid the time and work required for a potential rework job later.
My time is valuable.

I’m oem guy. Yes they have parts fail too but not nearly as often.
The price of the parts is the inverse of the troubles you will have with your vehicle.

As is so often the case, you usually get what you pay for. I'm sure they were fine for a while, but in the long run you end up spending more money not only having to buy another set but paying for the labor twice too.

Check for warranty
If I spent that much time to do the job, I would not use cheap parts, but good quality ones.
I’m guessing the warranty from this company is a buyer’s nightmare. And they don’t pay the labor.
In truth there probably is one or two bad injectors of the 8. It's a crap shoot on quality. All depends on failure internal in the injector and what is actual " reman" most common rail " Bosch" injectors will suffer the same fate. High return flow.
My guess is who ever owned it before him changed them

I had to replace my 6.0 powerstrokes injectors. With all the work it took me i used ford injectors. Didnt want to do that again anytime soon. That wasnt a fun job.

It's a different story for me. My truck is used for work. If it goes down, it costs me $150/ hr. So I can't take the risk of faild parts. So only new will do! I do my own repairs.

Ugh, cardinal rule for LB7s is to use quality injectors, no remans. OR if you must use remans, get them rom a quality manufacturer.
Where do you draw the line at cost of parts? Surely anything that forms a major essential part of the engine is worth spending money on, or was this customer previously ripped off? Looking forward to part 3 Ray…

The problem isn't them being inexpensive. The problem is that their quality is low. On the other end of the question, should you spend $800 per injector or $450 each knowing both products perform the same after 50,000 miles?
