In my experience with auto repair, nothing is simple. There's always some unforseen problem that comes up.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars brian watkins says:

a lot of these problems suck 😁

    Ray has a face…
IDK if I like knowing the face behind the voice… To me, when it's just a voice, he remains an enigma. A mysterious garage buddha full of car knowledge and wisdom and dooooDEEDOOOs.
Keep up the great work Ray!!!

Wouldn't YOU, want to interrogate the customer????????? Just sayin

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Taylor says:

The surface "tension" you often refer to is actually described as surface "adhesion" that develops over time between closely compression fitted parts. (per my chemical engineering background).

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Speakman says:

    Should have smoked it.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Volker Korb says:

Oh no, you f*** two hoses so I can not give you a thumbs up on this one. Sorry!

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robbie Sharrock says:

you seem to get a lot of those check or service engine lights on.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bobby Hicks says:

I'm trying to find that bugger on my van, which is weird because I'm show -95 kpa in my fuel tank. I'm not sure if its the canister or the sensor has failed, but I know there is a "lope" in my engine.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Martin Naylor says:

What ever happened to simplicity?. Fuel line runs to fuel pump in engine compartment. This then delivers fuel to carburettor. Over engineering again. More money for something you don’t need 🇬🇷

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars karatemonkey2189 says:

you always should go with a longer hose. I've been looking for a hose stretcher for 11 years now. They are impossible to find!

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars William Duhamel says:

I’ve been told that when you over fill the gas tank it can also damage the purge cylinder as well as the charcoal canister.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Evergreen641 says:

Sorry. But I did have to laugh when "Ahhh! The seat is moving forward and crushing me!"

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Reali says:

They do have round ended pliers for the tubes lol

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave Robinson says:

Nothing worse than a mechanic that breaks Shyt. Just kidding Ray. If it rips or breaks easy then it was probably time to change it anyways. Same goes for when I work on my boat.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Williams says:

Your face!!!! For the first time I have seen.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars George Cothran says:

I would guess that gas with alcohol, ethanol having its affinity for moisture in the air may be a contributor along with the alcohol itself in the failure of the evap solenoid mechanical gas vapor flow failure to seal off.

Man I wish u we’re around delaware I got a dodge cailper 2007 with same problem I’ve changed purge valve, charcoal canister, fuel tank, fuel pump and gasket filler neck hose, gas cap still throwing that dam code last repair gas tank I had it smoked cuz I don’t own a smoke machine but needless to say code is still active I kinda give up on it

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Miguel G says:

I had a similar code on my 2011 kia sportage. I believe it was p0456. I checked the purge valve it was good then I figured it was the fuel pressure sensor. I did a rookie move and brought the part before checking it. When i went to install it a rat had chewed the wire right at the connector smh. ( I live in NYC) rat are a huge problem out here.

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sam Jones says:

why is there a socket stuck on the engine. Sure looks like a socket on the intake man. That hose broke way too easy. Obviously brittle and need replacing.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian OHara says:

Wow the lady was just trying to be helpful 😕

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aaron Britt says:

I like to leave the purge solenoid connected and use the scan tool to cycle it. Sometimes, cycling the solenoid multiple times will reveal an intermittent problem.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars bruce pickess says:

Hi, I thought that was a very precise and detailed report, non ambiguous, specific, and very well structured. However hearing the way you talk and think about problems , I would expect nothing less from you.✔👍📝

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Randy Lewis says:

Rubber and plastics hate heat and uv rays

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andrew Wells says:

Maybe the hose was part of the problem. Looking at the way it was so brittle. I had coolant hose delaminate less than 2 years after purchase.

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars James Carroll says:

I did the same thing Ray, I cracked the brittle evap hose when disconnecting it from the purge valve, had to replace the hose
I had a misfire #2 emissions related code
It wound up being a bad gas cap

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephanie Kane says:

I have a Hyundai and the check engine light came on and I put my computer on and it was the evap code, after searching while the engine was running it turned out to be my fuel pump as suspected, it was cracked around the top , swapped it out and cleared the code and she’s been hood ever since
