GOTTA HAVE THE TOOLS TO GET THE JOB DONE…SOMETIMES YOU CAN SIDE STEP THE TOOLS THE FACTORY HAS FOR CERTAIN JOBS…NOT OFTEN…
No Brakleen!
take a shot every time Ray says condenser ….. haha…..lol
Great info on the compressor breaking down and sending debris through the system. My shop has been bitten on the backside a couple times due to trying to help customers out and just replacing the minimum. Now, we recommend replacing everything due to the liability.
My first car was a Toyota Corolla 1978 station wagon. Only thing I miss about it was excellent gas mileage it had a little 4 banger not much power great gas mileage.
Hi ray, new fan here, enjoy your simple explanations of the complex systems. Very much enjoy your logical troubleshooting. I was in the military for 30 years about half of which as a helicopter mechanic. I appreciate how frustrating wrench turning can be at times and you do it with no cussing! I can recommend your channel to one of my grandsons!
My 1996 Camry still blows 42F air and has never needed even a charge.
Man thats a ton of work just to get the AC working again, why would you put so much $ into a >10 yr old Cam….ohhhhhh you are in Satans Taint, FLA…nvr mind!
Are ya choochin?
Great video
Great video, thanks for the insight into the air-conditioning most over here in Australia only go down to 16 degrees Celsius, that went down to 8 degrees Celsius, all the best to you and your loved ones
Good job. A learning experience.
I thought GM was the only company that required "specialty tooling" 🙄
Ray that is a Toyota Corolla that has the 1.8 liter engine. My 2005 Pontiac Vibe also has a 1.8 liter 1ZZ engine.
Ray's nemesis is gravity and the dreaded dooo dee leeee doooo
The sleeve on the thermometer will slow the response of the temp reading, but aside from that, there's no difference; the ultimate reading will be the same with or without the sleeve, just a difference in how long it takes to reach temp equilibrium
It’s says Toyota on it, so all you need to know, It’s Junk.
For all of us who use different measure systems… about 8 C, 42 is quite hot……
1983 camry had a 1.8 L engine
Congratulations on 400 K subscriptions 👋
You can use the sleeve on the thermometer, it does not insulate. There is a hole at the end of the sleeve that allows air flow and the sensing bulb is in the point anyways.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a compilation video of the phone ringing and the sfx you make! dodododadadado
Make sure those bolts go back in their correct location…. I’m not sure what years had a problem, but if the bolts are switched, the long bolt in the short bolt hole, it will pierce into the block oil passage… didn’t happen to me but have seen it done twice. The only real repair is a short block. Future reference only…..🥳
3 out of 5 stars, missing break clean
What’s the guesstimate on the gross value of Rays tools. I’m going with 15000 worth
R1234yf the new refrigerant!!!! What next?
Ray that’s a Corolla
🙂 don't forget to feed the gators
You said hose..😏
Hey Ray, love the work you do and enjoy watching you fix stuff.
Whats the best car brand to work on whats the worst?
Regarda from Oslo, Norway
I knew a sista named Debris (Debree)
It's about time I saw a Toyota on your lift similar to what I own. I have a Corolla that is a 1997 and it is still in good shape mechanically and for the most part, is completely reliable. It has close to 150k in mileage and it has been such a good car I had it repainted a few years back. I do change the oil and filters on schedule and it is on its 3rd set of tires but still has its factory-installed brakes. Not much in the ways of maintenance required if you don't hotdog it.
Your killing our Ozone
Least no 4th of July effects on Ralph Nader
Wouldn't you be better high side charging as when you dump all that liquid in the high side it goes its natural way but through the low side you can wash the oil out the system. And pistons are full of liquid so you can't start the compressor straight away
I gotta tell you, I would drive cross country to have you work on my car. I like your honesty and attention to detail.
Have you powered down a 2011 Honda Insight? If you listen closely you will hear a sound like none other.
Subscribe buzzer sounds like a noise to the intake to county Jail🤔🏌
doodley doo
Great job. Keep up the good work.
Great work sir, much appreciated
It’s a Corolla the Camrys had the 2.4l
Hehe, he said dooty
I noticed you said that you like to initially charge to the low side of the system. This is in fact not a good idea if you are replacing a compressor in the system as the damaged one might have left very small amounts of debris in the system and affected the expansion valve. by initially charging on the high side, it allows the tech to observe the low side pressure to see if the expansion valve is clogged or damaged as the expansion valve meters liquid freon from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side. In other words, if the low side pressure does not come up and stabilize with the high side (compressor not on) we can conclude that there is likely an issue with the expansion valve.
O ring gravity is very common, either that or you pick it the wrong way and it rubberband shotguns 400ft across the shop
Your daily videos are not only a great teaching tool for the amateur mechanic but comical with your quirky humor when the dooodedooo rings or your tools discover gravity exists. Keep them coming brotha.
I thought all ac warranties for compressors required a condenser exchange and a new dryer or the warranty on the compressor was voided.
If you find debris in the A/C lines, isn't there a danger of contaminating the tank in your machine when you recover the refrigerant?
U probably do ac all year long in Florida
Congratulations on 400k!
Did you replace the dryer?
Lol, the sleeve is a "pocket protector"
Ray, I've asked once, I ask gain; Why do you spend money on tools? Isnt that the employer's responsibility?
Enlight a foreigner like me why employees buy things to employers in usa.
The sleeve only potentially slows the temperature reading as the sleeve also has to be brought to temperature.
Is that a 2zr engine
Lovin' the "True Rainman Ray" after watching you troll that scammer the other day..was epic. Lol. "Wonder if Eric has the same issues…irregardless. great to see the new "specs". Keep em coming brother! 🤟
Ray, isn't that a clutchless compressor
When I was a tire tech at Goodyear proficiency was always what I strive for daily. I was the only man at our location that could do a set of ten on a semi in 45 to 50 minutes aired and bolted back on the truck. I had my way which was the correct way and others had their way which was wrong. I could do a single tire on a concrete mixer in 10 minutes and not even remove the wheel. I did calcium chloride filled construction equipment tires all the time there because I was the only one that got certified to do them. Guys would not like to go on big jobs with me cause I didn't allow them to sit around waiting on a tire to deflate. You can always be doing something. I've had to go to dump truck companies and dismount and mount 150 tires in a day and put them on the trucks. I was a bear before my body flat gave out on me. Lord I miss the work and the money too.
Here in Florida that is important.
Ray, you always change the schrader valves and you should also change any oring after it is disturbed.
Why, in this day and age, is a Meridian(?) telephone system's incoming ring tone routed through the intercom system? And out into the service bay of all places. Like one of you guys will answer it. Becky's phone is programmable. Cheers-a-doodly-doo, Ray.
42*, wow thats better then your dieselmax with the steroid injections you be giving it…………
I certainly hope you have a replacement supply of that little green pry bar. If you lost the one you’re using, you wouldn’t be able to repair anything. 😜
Ok WHAT I MISS!!!
Another great video as always Ray and to all the scammers lurking about get a job losers👍
No suction when you need it, sucks.
We call those ETV in Refrigeration.
Electronic throttling valve. And a dryer should catch any debris through the system before it causes damage
Clicked the likee button always, thanks Ray for brightening my day
I love my 1.8L on a 2006 Matrix with 200,000 miles and still runs perfect.. Best engine for DIY mechanic IMO.
Hey, bud! I found a channel with your name on Rumble, but no videos. Is that you? if so, start cross-posting, please! Love your work, and learn something from ya every day, I appreciate that.
I knew there'd be no Brake Clean break in!! 🙂 Nice job as always Ray.
I didn't know you could charge on the high side for any vehicle? I thought always the low side.
Good tip on the sleeve. Thanks.
You should put a new orange on the line you toke off sham on you
I thought you always have to replace the dryer if you want warranty on your compressor.
My big hands ,fat fingers would not fit in those places.😁
no compression and no suction Ray cant have that mate😂😂😂😂😂 in my day it was suck sqeeze bang blow 🤣🤣🤣
ray what are your thoughts about scotty kilmer and chris fix?as individuals not against each other i mean there work
Honda with steering rack and steering pump , Toyota with A/C compressors inside look like metal shavings, have to change condenser and dryer , I thinks all this Toyota compressor damage is because high pressure switch not shut off compressor and let it keep running on and on until pressure built up and oil burn up and gas leaks out to orifice valves or orings
very cool dude
And here you are working on a Toyota after the scammer tried to scam you. Keep posting videos I’m learning a lot with this Chanel.
Ray I think you do good work keep it up
Wheres your shop?
My 07 subaru has that same alternator tensioning style. I hate it.
You forgot to press the green subscribe button.
Reeeeee, you replaced the o'rings on all but the condenser…. Reeeee
Repairing my own car has become really tiring when you can no longer see up close without reading glasses. You have to constantly take the glasses off your head and put them back on. Life was easy when I was young.
Did he say camry in the beginning ? Lol
Is evacuated refrigerent reused? If so how are contaminates handled and what guarantees the refrigerent is of the same or correct type?
The condenser fitting was opened for inspection, why no new o-ring there?
Hey Ray, had to have myself a laugh… got one of those scam notes only 24 hours after you exposed a scammer…… it just tickled me. Anyway, great work as always. I know your not the only auto engineer that simply won't settle for anything less than perfect, there are hundreds of guys and girls like you who get tarnished by the 'other' kind of auto engineer, the lazy money grabbers, you and we know them….
So for all of you auto engineers like Ray here, thank you for being the professionals you are, your awesome.
TY,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
g`day ray ❓what is your opinion on milwaukee sockets and ratchets ❓ are they worth buying❓ they look good on the interweb. i am after a good quality set to last and i value your opinion ….. a answer would be cool but i know your a busy man … great video as always mate cheers
Why no low side and high side filter change to keep warranty on Compressor ?
Right der is your problem its a Toyeota.
