Happenings He Hood Hello everybody Good day to you! Welcome back! We are doing something a little bit different today. we're going on a field trip. We're going on a field trip to the dump because I have the last remainder of the sheetrock wall in my trailer and I need to get rid of it so we are leaving. We're gonna go ride out, take the stuff to the dump, and uh and then unload it.
Then we'll come back. All right, let's climb up into our Silverado here stockings the engine 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 66 Duramax with 224 495 miles on the odometer, dang it's hot today. Look at that 100 degrees Fahrenheit You know something just occurred to me. we're gonna be going fast and I don't want to, uh, get dust flying out of this trailer everywhere.
Raspberry can be deadly. Oh nobody cares. All right. So I'm gonna pull the screen over top, keep our uh, our dust problem down.
Need to move? The last thing I need is a dust ball flying out of the back of the trailer. So here what? I'll do. Poke this thing on right back here there and once more on this side there, hook that around like that we'll crank it in some make it toy like a tiger there. now it's covered in legal.
Awesome. All right, let's go ahead and spin this thing around. Let's get out of here. Go dump this stuff off and then uh and then I'll figure out what else to do with the rest of my day.
The question is is can I turn this thing around in this parking lot or am I about to get myself stuck? That's the real question here. 17-point turn Austin power style backing up the auto squeeze I don't know if I can do it. Maybe I'm gonna run it over to smash that right out of the way. There we go.
goodbye block of wood News Yeah, so far so good. I think I got this. I got it. We're fine.
forward. So right here we're in the front of the Tropicana plant. That's where uh, all the Tropicana orange juice is made hence the trains near the shop and uh, sometimes we have a stink of orange peel from the incinerators. but really good orange juice.
They're not making bioengineered orange juice which is cool I like non-biter engineered orange juice. Remember when we all freaked out over GMOs years ago and now we have like bio engineered like they even I don't even know if it's the same thing, but it's uh I don't think that that counts as actual food. It's like a product that resembles food. That's what.
I think it's kind of scary State of Affairs you know, tell me some of you guys have noticed the labels on the packaging of the bioengineering. Dodge Ram People I swear only in Bradenton only in Bradenton that's that's just. that's wild okay dogs, we're almost there I Uh, we'll continue for three quarters of a mile, but I believe I can just back up the trailer to wherever they're dumping and I can dump. yeah, the dump area I I Don't know I've never been here before, but we're gonna find out.
Google says turn left onto Landfill Road I Guess that's the proper direction Lena Business Park Looks like there's some security here. Danger: High voltage clearance Picture cameras. Gate closes automatically at five. Yeah, they're not. They're not messing around here. This is a serious type of operation. Speeding fines Okay, jeez, no idea where to go I guess I'll just follow the road and the signs there. Uh, drywall and construction material I've some two by fours and stuff I Hope I'm going the right way because I don't know yeah.
Landfill heavy equipment Vehicles right away at all times. Copy that. Okay I think I'm just gonna follow this guy. yeah, he knows where he's going I Want to drive up that hill that looks like fun.
Ah, those seagulls are attacking the heavy equipment I Hope the tractor wins. Oh man, this is crazy I might need some four-wheel drive to get through this I gotta go over there and back in on the other side of that F-150 or whatever and dump right there. Look out Seagull I'll run you over here. Yeah, this is Hardcore right here.
So I need to go over here, spin around and then back it in and then I can dump right back over there passenger side he says so I can drive through all this stuff I hope it doesn't break my tires All Right Moving On Up Foreign. Let's go begin dumping now. All right coming down. I can feel the ground shaking when that thing Drives By Injured.
Okay, uh, that was not what I expected it to be I figured there would be like just like a hole in the ground and we backed up to it and just dumped it Down in the Hole I Didn't realize we were just like climbing on top of the trash pile. Um that was. That was a new experience for me. Never never done that before but uh yeah I did not think that I was gonna see what I just saw back there I'm just glad I didn't get attacked by the seagulls today.
Truth. they looked, uh looked very violent and angry. Angry seagulls okey-dokes I'm gonna go pay my bill and get out of here I'm headed back to the shop. Thanks for watching my uh, my trip to the garbage dump video.
This was like I said, an interesting experience. See you guys later. Appreciate you being here. Let me know what you think about this place in the comment section down below.
And of course, don't forget to drop those like buttons. See you guys later in the transmission foreign truck was doing here. Maybe this is uh, where they refuel because there is a fuel Depot back there. but when I saw the signs I just thought it was for uh like the equipment on site.
but perhaps they get their fuel here too. Who knows I don't know, do you guys know? Thank you Foreign.
The best waste dump in Florida? The governor's mansion in Tallahassee~
I remember when it cost nothing to dump waste. Just another tax
Good luck not getting something stuck in your tires. I never drive on roads where there is construction because in the past I always got a nail or screw in a tire
The rats at my local transfer station were climbing up and over each other by the hundreds to flee the loader scooping up the pile of pallets. (And the odd one here and there got yeeted by a hockey stick if they got too close to the office building)
You pay the difference between the weight when you went in and the weight when you left? How much per ton?
It's possible the fire truck was fueling up. When I was on a squad, I think we used to fuel up with off-road diesel (road tax free or whatever). We had to go to a quarry to get that. So the depot is probably for the tractors and whatnot and is therefore off-road diesel. FD probably gets access.
Why no recycling sorting?
Dang you had to pay at the dump😮
Always picked up a nail or screw when visiting the dump. Be a nice idea to open a tire repair shop right outside the dump entrance.
Ray, your content just reached a new level of boring. Please stick to auto repairs. 🙂
climb the hill!!!you are there!do it! 😀
Many, many years ago, my brother took a trailer full of junk to the land fill and you paid as you entered. The attendant looked over the contents of the trailer and said, "Ten dollars!". My brother jokingly said, "SOLD!" The attendant said, "N-N-No, You pay me!" hahaha
I used to do landfill runs all the time through my old work we were contracted by veolia . Some scary moments with dump trucks back up to the end of those big hills and lift your box in that soft crap . Recycling hauls with a semi tractor 3 loads a day I learned how to operate a front end loader when the loader wasn't there , loading up 48 ft walk off trailers of recycled material , always smells like trash lol 😂
Ray that is odd that they had you dump on the pile every land fill I've been to here in the northeast had you dump off a ledge into a dumpster that they would take and empty on the pile when it fills up.
We stopped using landfills in Sweden maybe 20 years ago, all is now recycled or processed.
Oh well you’ll get there eventually.
Don't you recycle your trash??
Thank you for demonstrating the need to cover the load. Our highways now have signs notifying drivers that debris falling from vehicles when the load is not covered comes with a $500 fine.
BTW, while you're feeling the ground shaking I'm hearing a machine in serious need of having grease applied. Bulldozers are frequently abused and subjected to a lack of maintenance. The owners are then surprised by the high repair bills. Repair often involves having parts machined to avoid extended down-time while waiting for parts from the manufacturer. There aren't that many machine shops around with the capability to do the work.
All I can say is I hope your tires are free of foreign objects after going there !!
I notice as time goes by, the more difficulty there is in throwing your trash out. The dumps are like Ft. Knox!!!! This, in turn, leads to more littering by those who can't afford to pay the fees involved in dumping refuse. This needs to stop, and dumps need to be FREE of ANY monetary fees at all. I hope others agree with me.
In Denmark these are recycle stations and you have to sort your trash into different containers (wood, metal, plastics, stone, plasterwall, paper etc…) and woo you not following the personel on sites recommendations. Then you get to climb in, retrieve your wrongly sorted trash and sort it again…
Crikey Ray, looks like a 6-pack trip!
WHAT?? I watched the entire video and you never posted what it cost to dump a trailer full of sheetrock and lumber???? I wuz robbed! Can you imagine what the lungs of that dozer driver look like after 10 years if inhaling landfill dust.
Australia we call it the tip
Normally come home with more than I take 😂🇦🇺
How much was the dump bill.😁
Seriously, your first trip to landfill?
Ray that was rubbish 😂
That is not a consumer friendly tip. In the UK you would have dumped in a safe concrete compound and the rubbish is transferred by their own heavy plant. That place is downright dangerous to both people and vehicles.
I doubt the fire appliance was refuelling. We have our own fuel pumps in most fire stations but those that haven't use fuel cards. They could have been there for multiple reasons from a fire to a risk of familiarisation visit. Refuelling at a place like that doesn't make for economic sense or convenience.
Holy shit! In Sweden, just dumping like that is a completely alien concept.
Wood get separated out as obviously it can be burned. Sheetrock is not burnable so it would be handled differently.
This handling is not only environmentally good BUT most importantly a lot of Swedish homes are heated thru large citywide piping networks that pump superheated steam. The plant that generate the steam burn trash. Soo much trash that Sweden actually buys trash from other countries.
I like this video 👍
When I saw the sign saying that there are fines for speeding, I played the video at x2 speed to see if I could get Ray pulled over!
plaster board (drywall) when dumped into land fills along with any bio degradable material , creates hydrogen sulfide gas , not good ,, hence we cant do it over here (UK), it has to be dumped separately in its own landfill (at a cost) with other non bio degradable items ,, i lived just up the road from Bradenton FLA , for 5 years ,, (Sarasota) working on framing houses , the difference between the uk and FLA was real eye opening ,, fun though ,, good vid , brings back memories ,,,
Love that "Gravity!"
I noticed they have LPR's on the incoming lanes. Big Brother is watching.
Yea we had to go to the dump one year, 2019 actually and didn't have our load covered and the dump charges 25$ extra for loads not 'secured'. For clarification it was secured with ties that nothing would fall out. 30 Years of going with my dad, we never had a load covered yet that one day she was rude about it.
Hi Ray, I’m a bit surprised by this dump-site. I’m no tree-hugger, but this has to be done better. Here in The Netherlands you separate wood, from plastic, from dry-wall, from insulation, etc. The dump consists of multiple open containers for the various materials. It shouldn’t be dumped like that in a landfill, especially the plastics….
you had me at austin powers! 😀
I remember going to the dump regularly when I was a kid, since our town at the time didn't have trucks that would come to your house. It was pretty much just like this, even with seagulls. Oddly enough I live in a desert, but we do get a number of seagulls here.
That landfield looks pretty sad idea. In Finland we dont take material to landfields, if its not gras, branches or other nature wood. The go to facility where new dirt is "made" almost all other goes to ♻️. At leat six bins at home😂. How is the recycle factor in us. In here we have pawn in almost all plastic bottles. So naturally u dot dump them.
why was the entrance 3 counties over from the actual dump site?
my aunt used to work in that little building checking trucks in and out at our local demolition landfill
Fun fact most everything we eat today is a GMO. When humans began to farm instead of hunting and gathering the things we eat became genetically modified
I know there is no relevance to Ray's video but I like to learn and hope you all do too.
My favorite dozers.
Seagulls looked "Hangry" 😅.
Bioengineering = selective breeding. Every single vegetable or animal that you eat has been bioengineered. It's not a thing.
In today’s episode, we join Ray as he goes for a dump.
That landfill looks so similar to the one in Marysville, Ca. and I bet it even smells the same…
Ray, I have a suggestion that will improve the Dirtymax. You can apply fabric glue to your sagging head liner, then stretch it out
holding it in place with pins while it dries. It's a quick simple fix.
Ray, your Silverado headliner is falling down. Can those be repaired? Please make a video showing how to do it and have yourself a great day.
