All right folks, we got us a Honda It's a pilot. It's got the big three fight. The guy just had it. Uh, Triple A Come and put a battery in for him because his battery was dead so he could get it here.
Well, apparently we had an issue with these plastic clips and uh, if you can't get them out, just chop them off because that's what we did. Uh, so they got that out of the way and then they come down here and appear to have been defeated by a couple J-bolts A good thing they had some in stock there in the tow truck and uh, got them put in there. We had a nice rubber washer on here because that's useful and then over here. We didn't run out of thread to, mind you, but we didn't want to screw it down all the way.
So here's a resources folks. Uh, whatever. You tend to take up space, so that's pretty nice. And then you got to get the upsell on the temporary throw it in trash battery terminal.
So anyhow, pretty ingenious and it's a red Green says if women don't find you handsome, at least they find it handy.
Hey, let me hack this job up myself and make a video claiming it was AAA. Nice one!
Oh geez would I be pissed. There would be a uncomfortable phone call made after I seen that.
Lol man I love the Red Green reference too!!!
Why do people waste their money with those idiots.
Those honda bumper push pins are trash.
AAA hasnโt been doing hot Iโve heard several people complain around where I live and one of em was my father so that ruined em for me
I wonder why some people they take care and wash the outside of their cars and trucks…but the motor is dirty.
Superb battery install!
I hope you made it right for the fella!
What an idiot,he should have used a yellow cap for the spacer, this is why some people shouldn't work on Hondas,Everyone knows that red is for Toyotas.
Shoulda used a AA
As a tower I was called to tow a car that had been on fire when I got there the fire investigator was telling the lady it was probably a gas leak. I listened to him and I said are you done yet he said yes so I asked the lady when she had the new battery installed and where she said AutoZone so I showed the fire guy and her where the hold downs were missing and the positive cable came in contact with a brake line which started the fire. The investigator looked at me like I was his enemy so I told him to go back to school and find out how to investigate a car fire which pissed him off. She sued AutoZone and they bought her a new car. AutoZone does not hire mechanics these are kids that know nothing not just AutoZone all of these free installation parts stores do the same thing. So go to a real shop get it installed properly and pay the extra money for a professional mechanic
My car is mechanic friendly no battery hold down in reality where is the battery going?
Possum Lodge was paradise and we just didn't know it.๐
The terminal is bad too? Damn I use those sometimes.
Car got there didn't it? Job done.
Why on earth cut the clip grommets off, just pop a screwdriver underneath the centre plug & lift them out.! & that battery retainer clamp is way too loose, there should be 3/4inch spacers underneath the wing nuts to hold the battery clamp in place.! just a total bodge job really, this wouldn't happen in a UK garage.!๐ฎ
I love sarcasm. ๐
>when I pickup a new battery at the parts store and the guy who's never turned a wrench in his life before being hired says are you sure you don't want the free install
ะะพะปั ะพะทะฝะธะบะธ!
Mickey mouse club is not a mechanics school…
Good ol Red Green ๐
AAA batteries are complete crap. A lot of them are batteries they removed and slapped their own stickers on !
I haven't heard a reference to the red green show in probably 20 years! Nice
Wise words from Red Green
Triple A is a joke, needed them twice, first time they told me it would be over 12 hours before they could get a tow truck out, I was at a truck stop off the interstate about 40 miles from St. Louis. The second time was in a more remote area, and after 2 hours they told me they didn't know when they would be able to send someone. Completely useless.
Holy Crap Biscuit! ๐
It's cool because ive changed clutches and my heater core and brakes and im really smart and really cautious, but I'll have a hard time getting a job because I'm too honest. But, meanwhile, we got guys like this being allowed to work on stuff. don't judge a book by its cover.
Title is confusing
RedGreen just started a podcast.
AAA are tow truck drivers!, a competent mechanic would not work for tow truck money, the goobs do the "best" they can, "bless their hearts"
As a AAA battery technician, this is abhorrent. If I came across this install job in the field, I would document it and report it to AAA myself. Having installed a battery on the Acura MDX, when I was done, it didn't look anything like this – that's why people think AAA is bad!
Mrs. A was JUST stating that "AAA has batteries…", like it's a hint or some kind of passive statement after she found suggestions on Farcebook.
I wonder why I'm skeptical of anything. "We also have the VA and they're doing grand, eh?" Just tow me home or to the shop. Hate to see what they do with lug nuts.
Dayum! Red Green quote drop
Everyone has done things that we're not especially proud of in order to limp the car home.
The Red Green reference was funny AF! Awesome, LOL.
Guys, that's not a AAA battery. Pretty sure it's a 9 volt.
Classic harbor freight master mechanic!! Lol
AAA replaced my mom's battery. Same guy perhaps…
Lol, I couldnโt stand that awful show.
If the women don't find you handsome at least they will find you handy
Lol love the red green show! ๐
Wow โฆ I probably could have done a better job when I was 12
An AutoZone in the hood could have done a better job! This 'technician' is a disgrace to AAA.
I would have made them pay for the damages.
AIN'T IT JUST AIN'T IT ๐ lols
Lol nice Red Green reference.
Seems aaa got the plastic clips off
Hiding the battery under the ducting is annoying. If you ran out of room in the engine, put the battery under the trunk compartment. It's less difficult to access a trunk battery than it is a battery that's hidden under intake ducting.
(I'm not a mechanic, but I found it was impossible to recover a stranded Honda pilot without taking all the ducting apart, which I didn't know how to do at first)
8 AAA Batteries will work just fine! ๐
Ha , Love the Red Green show and your vids of course.
I love the Red Green quote!
If Rainman possessed Eric's body for a day, this is how a video would sound like
If I can't trust them to install a battery how could I possibly trust them to tow my car, wtf. I've seen some bad battery installations being an auto parts retail employee but that is just insane. Those poor clips didn't deserve this.
haha I did not know red green escaped Canada
Looks like itโs a AA battery install.
Also AAA was all out of bungee cords.
Just saw a video right before this that AAA is hiring a ton of women. I still think a dumb man did this. Women are to gentle to just break pop it clips.
My experience with AAA battery guys has been pretty poor. I have two separate instances.
Super glue might have been handier, ๐ค
So you know our Canadian Wizard fix it guy Red Green, total genius!!!
Red green!!!!!! Yes!!!!
๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
What a travesty
It looks like the clips come out easier if you pull out the centre pin.
He drop Red ๐
Curious what your experience has been with those battery terminals? Recently had a problem with one of these on my civic. Had it installed for a few years without issues but then started having intermittent starting issues. Put a new OEM ground cable on and so far so good.
You are mechanic and you couldn't take out those plastic holders? Are you freaking kidding me? Take out middle part and then the rest. If you would do that kind of shit with my car you would be paying for damage 4 sure and none of my friends would consider even taking car to you. What a joke
What a disaster.. this made me laugh so hard
Omg a Red Green reference ๐
๐ Nice
Remember, Redโs pullinโ for ya. Weโre all in this together ๐
You got 1 like for the Red Green quote
It was probably dark and cold.
Guys donโt do very good work when their brain is froze
Whatever you say AvE
My 90 year old mother-in-law called AAA on a dead battery in her 2010 Kia Optima. They replaced the battery (prorated.) The idiot hooked up the battery backwards; luckily it has a big honking fuse that blew and saved the electronics. I later discovered the idiot never fastened the battery down properly. I guess AAA aren't vetting and training their battery experts well these days.
What a piece of excrement
That's all afro rigged.
Just be happy the tow driver didnโt reverse the cables
The boomers pretty much retired. I will say there are a few good newbies out there who I think are doing a good job, but not enough.
Has no idea WHO actually did all that stuff, clips were probably already broken etc
Gave you a thumbs up because you referenced red green
Keep the Red Green quotes coming! lol
The modern FJB employs at work with a battery replacement .
Craftsmanship at its finest.
Those terminals are fine on older stuff that isn't a rolling supercomputer. I've had a pair on my 85 F150 since before I bought it in 2007 and I've never had problems with them. But then again that truck's so damn simple that the most complicated electronic device bolted to it is the FM radio/tape deck in the dash.
Whomever installed that battery knew exactly what they were doing, they just didn't give a damn.
The good ol red and green reference. Haven't hear that in a long time lol
Wow.
Let the vandalism begin
Ohhh a Red Green referance
๐ฎ
This is a Napa battery part #. It was not installed roadside. I left you a voice mail. Please call me.

I just caught a national chain trying to rip my mother off with a $180 serpentine belt replacement quote. Her belt still has a nice felt texture to it with narry a crack at all. It's perfectly fine and they wanted $90 for it! Didn't even disguise the part number on the quote so I could tell that it was $20 – $30 maximum elsewhere. The most expensive belt I could find at the auto store was ~$40.
Geez when buried the battery underneath breather !!!
EXACTLY my experiences with AAA service centers before I started wrenching myself. AAA is actually a large part of why I wrench myself, so I guess I'm grateful for incompetent, drooling idiots who pretend to be "professionals". Thanks for the inspiration! ๐
Not everyone can be a Rockstar mechanic like yourself with ethics too. It's really the general population that is creating this b.s. Most people can't spot this kind of blatant unprofessionalism in auto repair and most likely don't care so long as it's cheap.
Love the reference to Red Green, a true Canadian hero.
Keep your stick on the ice!
