In this video I briefly go over one of my favorite TPMS tools. I love my Bartec 400sd but I am really liking the Autel TS508 TPMS tool. It is inexpensive, free updates and works really well overall. -Enjoy!

I have a 2016 Tacoma with 2 sets of OEM wheels. Can I copy the data from my original sensors to the new sensors so I don't need to relearn every time I switch from summer to winter tires? Apparently Toyota can't keep a memory for 2 complete sets of wheels which is BS. I guess only if the sensors are autel sensors by the sounds of it. I just purchased this tool as it was on sale for a pretty good price and figured it would save me having to go to the dealer every winter/spring to get my TPMS reset.

Hello Eric. I have 4 new Mercedes Wheels. Bought 4 oem TPSM sensors. Also bought the TS508.
How should I use the TS508 to install the sensors in the wheels at once or should they be done one at a time? Thanks much.

Just got my Autel 508 TPMS tool. Found two bad sensors on my daughter's Honda Fit. Will need to replace the sensor once it is a little warmer outside.

Does it work for Ford pick ups that have the sensor belted to the rim instead of in the valve?

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Cole says:

Can you make a video like this showing how to make new ids for sensors that are not there ! My gfs vans has a tpms but the last time she had tires installed the put valve stems in instead of tpms sensors

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars VideoNOLA says:

Bogus that Autel (and every other tool maker) only allows programming or cloning of their own "MX" sensors. Bartec is pricey but allows aftermarket sensors, like you said. But man, everybody wants a piece of the $$$ pie that mandatory TPMS created since inception. 😕

Got a set of winter tires mounted on new wheels for my wife's WRX (2017). Wanted to be able to just swap between summer/winter tires in the driveway. Will this tool allow me to read the Id's from each set and write them to the cars cpu so it doesn't freak out when I swap them?

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Morai's memories says:

Does this tool work with MORESENSOR, or any brand sensor?

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles says:

When you talk about the tools. Is more helpful than others on YouTube. Everyone else is trying to sell instead of explaining so we can see if it works for us. Ty

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Agostino DiBella says:

I cloned MX sensors on an ‘07 Toyota RAV4 but the TPMS light would come on and go off randomly. I then got regular replacement sensors and used the tool to successfully program them.

Like the song says, in the year 2525, you won't need no arms or legs. In 2021, you apparently don't need a brain. How simple is it to just get a manual tire gauge!

I noticed the ts508 is more expensive than the ts408 so what's the difference?

I am looking to buy a tpms tool and find lots of vids but you post the good and bad lol Autel dealer dose not go into detail like you did

Just ordered one of these off eBay brand new for $125. Thought that was a pretty good deal. I don't need to buy the MX sensors right now, just want the tool to interrogate the OE sensors on my Toyota and see where they stand since they are 7 years old. Then I will decide what I want to do.

I'm having issues with my car after replacing all 4 sensor because it didn't have sensors, I programmed all new sensors with new IDs but now idk what else to do, tool doesn't show me anything to get rid of the tpms light

If you program the Mx-1 sensor, can you reprogram it again later for another car if you decide to take it off one car and put it on a wheel of another car? Just curious if it's a write once type of deal.

Researching tire valves and tpms systems for my daughter's car. She has a 2017 Nissan Sentra SV and I'm in the process of getting her a full-size spare. I've gotten her new tires and have one of the old tires to mount on a basic steel wheel like the rest of the wheels for the car.
My question(s)…. Do I have to use a tpms valve? can I just use a basic tire valve that fits that particular wheel if it's going to be a spare? Or should the full-size spare be set up like a regular tire and rotated into use wth tpms system for that tire as well? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. If I'm missing anything, any help would be appreciated!

Great video. Do the tires need to be rebalanced when sensors are changed from OE to Autel and the bottom bead isn't broken?

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Francisco Saucedo says:

Great Vid! i just saw an Autel Ts 508 Kit that include 8 sensors, 4 for each frecuency, but i can´t find the info if it include the obd cable. I also saw another sell for the same TS508 but this one says it is a complete tool, that actually includes a lot of stuff. U think any option should come with the cable?

I just ordered the TS601!! I have a bartec Tech 300c pro but the cost of subscription for one year alone is the price of the 601 so thats a no brainer!!!

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars AmtrakSurfliner768 says:

On BMWs, the sensors just get flashed outside the car, don't even need data from old sensors and put them on the wheels. The tool knows this, and doesn't waste your time giving you relearn options that only apply to other cars. This tool is the real deal!

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ken Wilcox says:

I have a question about Tpms sensors.

When you purchase new tires, the new tires may have a different max. Psi rating than the oem spec. Tires.
In my case 35 psi oem tires, 45 psi new tires. Does there need to be a program change in the ECM to accommodate the new psi rating. Or is relearning the sensors enough. I am concerned that the alarm would not set until the pressure drops below 35 psi on a 45 psi tire.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Daniel Simpson says:

I looked into Amazon for the 20 sensor kit with 5108 tool and am only finding a kit with 8 sensors. Both .com and .ca Amazon… maybe I'm blind but was interested in the cost for the larger kit.

Have many friends I could help out with this and a few of my own 😉

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jim Crane says:

Thanks to this video, I bought a ts508 and it worked great on our 2012 subaru outback. Never again will I have to take the time to go sit at the tire shop waiting for them to do the relearn when I swap wheels. Very helpful video, it can be quite confusing figuring out exactly what tools you need to read the sensors and perform the relearn. My tire guys don't quite seem to understand about cloning sensors.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matthew Miller says:

Ah TPMS…got a fancy tester doodad and I still can't figure out why half the time my TPMS light is on for a while after topping off air during changing seasons…they seem to randomly not read then work fine

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andy E says:

What kinda battery life are you seeing on the Autel tpms sensors?

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars racerxnk says:

Dumb question here, do the sensors have a battery? If so do the batteries fail?

Eric love your channel Is there a way to reprogram an original tire sensor on a say a Dodge Journey alarm is set for 36 psi. The vecheil rides like a farm wagon. Can one say set the alarm for 32 psi.

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Defender Mender says:

Don't you just put the black electrical tape over the TPMS light so you cant see it?!?!?!
