wonder why they don't just put those pullers along with the otc hub grappler. Astro pneumatic puts both puller accessories with there hub, drum and rotor puller kit. show me the money , scammers.
Eric love your Videos I built my own Hub Grappeler a few years ago after watching your Video on it just watched your Video the Rotor/Drum puller by chance what is the length on those arms of that tool.I'm guessing about 9 inches.
Hi Eric, I really enjoyed your video. In fact, I purchased and received the item today. I thought it would of came with a case. It did not. How do you store your OTC 6980 Brake Drum and Rotor Puller? Thanks for all the videos.
We call that tool a BFH in my neck of the woods 🤣
Big Nasty is mad at you right now, you didn’t get to use him 🤣
How dose it work on drums
I hope dro learns from this
Just bought this tool thanks to your video
Had a Mazda 3 pair of front rotors that were a nightmare
Just a heads up…. but if anyone was interested in buying this tool it is over 40% off right now ( in the description dropdown) on Amazon..I bought one for $100 they're regularly $170 it's a good tool that we all need at some point you should jump on it… I did…. Thanks for featuring this tool Eric…A must-have in Ohio….👍
Life time warranty?
Getting beaten off til the end doesn't sound all that bad.
Since they all can't Emmy award winning video Ya know loaded with exploded RUST and a couple of cans of the good stuff. In my mind all of the SMA Video's are very good. Full of original one liners and des nuts.
Thanks for the video.
More tool time please.
I found your Amazon store from the link on your channel page. No big nasty. Say it ain't so!
I remember a neighbor of mine trying to get a rusty rotor off a Jetta for about 45 minutes. I finally couldn't stand the sound of him pounding anymore. I brought my Proto drum / rotor puller over and had it off in a minute while he was in his house regrouping. Those tools work great.
Just trawling through some of these older vids…had some discs or rotors as you all them out east i smacked hell out of them…had to cut them off with a grinder in the end…what a job…wish id had that tool…
record a rust exploding!
Only on YouTube can you be embarrassed when something goes right. 🙂
6980…I have spent hours trying to get a drum or rotor off….waiting on pen. Oil, heat, hammer, sheering off the push out bolt meant for the drum…just DIY, but sheesh…seems like with all my vehicles and the constant Omaha rust, it is getting more difficult to simple projects like this. I gotta say this tool had me at hello. Exactly what I was looking for and isn't otc MaC tools?
that's a cool tool keep the vids coming your teaching allot of techniques to the people who don't have the knowledge
From what i understand this tool is also amazing at removing wedgies faster than any side tug and pull technique known to mankind. Hey Eric, check your Ytube messages.
Because you are who you are, Eric O. That's how things go.
How much did the tool cost and where can someone buy one?
Could of used this tool last week. Had to beat the crap out of one brake drum and had to use a large three jaw puller on the other side. Great video as always.
I beat the rotor hats with an air hammer, big nasty couldnt do it?
It's a shame, my snap-on could
( dont do it with inner parking brake pads, theyll unrivit oops )
Rotor came off so easy…….feeling hurt and ripped-off, REFUND!!!!!!!!!!!
Eric, this quick video is a lot like one of the sessions with my wife- no drama, no classic reach around and over in 4 minutes
Dam you and your awesome tool reviews!!!! Now my wallet will be a little thinner…
they need to put those springs on the hub grappler little bit of a chore trying to juggle that thing around with one hand
yes a Saturn
Efficient tool wish I had one have a great weekend. Keith
will also work on Murray lawnmower blade removal
So Eric I'm a tech here in texas and we had a vehicle from new york come in today the amount of rust on that bad boy first thing I did is start watching some of your videos on how to deal with that crap now I can say I understand you and all the technicians in the North and the frustration y'all have with the rust thanks for the videos
Have one, love it.
I knew that was a Saturn Ion as soon as I saw it on the lift, the badge on the fender gave it away. C'mon man you know you can cut them rotors and be good as new, LMAO! Needless to say those rotors probably ate the pads that were on there. Go figure that rotor would just about fall off like that when you are trying to demonstrate that tool, that puppy will definitely come in handy in the rust belt.
Imagining you beatin the tar out of the other rotor like Tarzan Unchained and then on the driver side hearing an imaginary wah, wah , wah, wahhh as the tool slides it off without a care. Nice one Eric! 😉
I made my own out of a large 3 jaw gear puller that had 1 broken arm, used a couple large nuts and washers to hold it in a piece of oak 4×4, notched the ends to receive the arms mounted with some heavy duty nuts and bolts and works like a charm.
GRAVY MAN
What! No brake clean?
Maybe Michele Obama will want to see some gardening skills. You are on your way to the top. Maga
Here's one that gave me fits. I had the fuel pump changed at a shop where they installed a new pump in the old pump housing. In tank pump. I don't drive the car much but in six months the car died in degrees. Make a long story short I pulled the tank and found one screw that held the high pressure hose onto the pump was laying on the tank bottom and the other one was loose. I think one problem it being a 97 Taurus is the brittleness of the old pump housing plastic not holding the screws. Just a guess. Replaced with a new unit with sender. The new unit had done away with the screws and had a solid plastic retainer. You would need to take the unit apart to get the pump motor out. Not a job I would have tackled had I not watched a bunch of your fantastic videos. Thanks!!
Nothing like having the right tools for the job!!!
nice video. I'm a mechanic in South Georgia and thank goodness we don't have a lot of rust like that. I do work on some vehicles from up north occasionally and they are always a pain with all that rust. I couldn't imagine dealing with that all the time. keep up the good work.
i want that tool never seen it before could easily make one thanks for sharing
Eric I don't know where you find this amazing time saving tools but every time you post a video with an amazing tool my bank account gets smaller. But I love the tool videos and videos where you have to fight rust LOL.
I picked up one of those pullers at a pawn shop 30 years ago, kept it for 20 years, never knew what it was for, finally gave it away to someone who also didnt know what it was used for, that was 10 years ago. Now I finally know what the tool I dont own is used for !
I will have to call him and let him know.
easy peasy
Fine threads do not exert any greater force over coarse threads. The force generated is purely a function of torque (in lbs) /( diameter (in) x fricition co-efficient (typically .15 to .2 depending on lube and finish). For example ( 250 ft lbs x 12in/ft) torque / (1" diameter x .2)= 15,000 lbs of force
Cool tool.
