In this video Eric O. does a little work outside the shop. He is at home replacing the front brake calipers on his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now this is just a beater so don't get to pumped up about the cheap parts and crappy install! It is used for off road use only! -Enjoy

I dont think the silvers come with the hardware..i know down here at my store they never have em in the box..but i could be wrong..i try not to buy the cheap crap unless the customers really want it..
Great video. Enjoy your content
But it's a 4liter…… Likes my 4.7
Safety third
Probably will be $500 and under for your Jeep
I was always taught to put the wheel under the car as "emergency" axle stands, in case the jack failed.
Should have changed the hose as well. You know they are bad to rot from the inside out. They cause more problems than calipers!
In response to a few comments about the jack and no safety stands; when I was 18, (Iโm 67 now) , I was replacing the starter on my 69 Nova SS 396 in my front yard using only the factory bumper jack. While under the car, the jack failed. The control arm pressed my head into the ground and my hand was caught under the tire with a wrench under my fingers. The neighbors ran to rescue and tried to lift the car off me to no avail. They then re jacked the car enough to remove me from down under. All I can say is thank goodness we had soft ground. The aftermath? Per the X-rays, no broken fingers, or cracked skull, but I had a crease across my forehead for about 10 years. My mother was watching all this from the front porch and chastised me afterwards about my language during the event. Still loved that car!
Your dogs are cool brother.
I was amazed that I didn't bleed the brake caliper but one round on my 03 Chevy Express 2500. A few times backing it up and the pedal is firm, done. That was two years ago plus.
I really like them 5.9 jeeps they are an awesome jeep.
Good show.
Go for a tute has a whole different meaning in the city .๐
I dont understand how anyone dislikes your videos! Ive been watching lot of them and they are all excellent!
Great tip for the DIY'er:if using a jack and you don't have a jack stand, put the tyre underneath behind the axle you're working on and if your jack fails you won't lose your fingers ๐
I just bought an 09 F150 a couple of months ago and the drivers side caliper almost fell off. One bolt was gone, the other one was held in by about 3 or four threads. This was at the bracket to the steering knuckle bolt so they couldn't even blame the re-manufacturer. Concur, tighten the fuck out of them.
Does Vanessa know you have her tool kit out there?
That flex on the stump at the end is how we used to do oil changes.
Cool ending dog high tailing it
Were did u get them 18.5 and 19.5 sockets I have had my fair share of those annoying lugs
Safety third at least put the tire under the side of the car for safety
Beautiful property
Be honest: You bought the Jeep just so you could wear the hat.
Sweet jeep on the cheap been there and dont that on a 97 lorado
Ice scraper… then adjust the seat forward.
Lmao. I have a wj and the front caliper locked up on me. I fixed it and just 4 days later the other side locked up
Thatโs so dump that can noise dude
I didnโt realize huskies liked the water.
Another great video. Thanks.
They are called banjo bolts, because they hold the banjo fitting, which is shaped like a banjo.
yay huskies
Funnier than hell
You have very nice dogs and a nice property. I noticed some algae in the pond where your dogs swim. Please be wary of blue-green algae. If you have any of that stuff in your pond, it can be deadly to your dogs. I'd hate to see them getting hurt. In any case, keep posting your videos… I enjoy them very much. Cheers!
Great video. Love the doggos. lol
Love it man. Keep these videos coming. I learn alot from u watching u work on stuff
My brakes suddenly went almost too the floor just barely stopping
You make this look way too easy lol I would love to have that power drill tool
wish I had propertyย like you have, that's one helluva mortgage
I use Dollar Tree rotors and RUSTY OEM calipers
99 models have weak brakes. Prone to warping the rotors. They can be easily upgraded to later Grand Cherokee models.
heres how to bleed brake solo (with very good results): take a few feet of aquarium tubing or similar, drill hole in small bottle and insert tube, connect tube to bleeder. The tube must immediately go up and then loop it overe soomething like the side mirror or something, as long as tthe tube is a straight shot up. crack tthe bleeder just enough to flow a good amount. pump brake slowly and hold for a couple seconds each time down. when you hold down, all the air will flow up the tube and the fluid will go down. if you do it right, you will have better results then any other way there is. once you know how too set it up it takes about 5 minutes to bleed all 4 tires and have ALL the air out.
when you say south main auto channel to me it sounds like self made auto channel
Sooooooooooo…..how much play should be in the pad slots after cleaning ? Iโve had some new pads I thought were too snug and might not release after braking especially after dirt gets in the slots. I file them down a bit.
phenolic pistons will do it ALL the time
real
Where's Bigfoot ?
safety 3rd. lol. When I am forced to work without jackstands I put the wheel and tire under the frame. cheaper to replace then an arm.
Is that jeep equipped with the one way check valve flex hoses? that Caliper seemed to come off very nicely with the bleed screw open………
Simply awesome! Great job and the pups were a great addition!
oof you have the shitty ATE calipers on it. The Akebono brand ones will swap right on there without an issue. Well worth the investment should you ever have to do it again, and best of all you don't need the allen sockets.
Awesome Jeep!
