Yes, the spark plugs are worn out, but looking at the color of them – the engine runs well.
Why bother showing people laughing in your videos when you say things like "paycheck collection snapon truck" LOL! LOL!! LOL!!
Ahem… if you say so…
normal seatbelt : minor concussion
twisted seatbelt : broken rib maybe or clavicle?
no seatbelt : dead
You choose, if a car tbones you and send you rolling over, twisted or not the seatbelt will prevent you from being ejected
Also… check out my Merchandises… that's a bit bland! "goodies"! sounds better
They over cooked their taco!
Judge Wopner !
How about cleaning the airflow sensor when everything is unmounted anyway? 😉
This is for other DIY wanna-be mechanics like me, not Ray (he's the pro and can do what he wants), blast off the loose dirt and grit BEFORE you remove the plug terminal (including the pile of leaves between the wiper and windshield, you really don't want any of that crap getting in the combustion chamber); do not pull on the terminal wires, pull the plastic plug instead, it's best to hand tighten the plugs rather than using a power tool (very easy to cross-thread these if you're not careful).
To answer your trivia question (which BTW, parts of movie we’re filmed in Cincinnati), your name gives it away Mr. Rainman. Nice movie trivia thrown in the video, double doodle doos for you.
Don't you mean the 'Strap-On' truck? (someone had to say it)
I'm guessing the joke about 82 is Larry Wright.
I guess he only ran 1 race at Talladega in 1982.
Didn't you know? An illuminated TPMS warning light is a standard feature on all late model vehicles regardless of manufacturer…
Bleeped!
Rain man…
Air filter?
I noticed your not gaping spark plugs, they do not come pregaped because they fit many applications per spark plug repazenative.
Rainman is the future of rock and roll!
Def definitely K-mart
67k miles my 97 Civic electrodes didn't look half as bad.
That has to be the most twisted seatbelt I've ever seen. 😆👍
Engine not funny now.
Nice torque wrench
You forgot the loctite
why you aint in middle management i haven't clue
I'm curious why you don't check the sparkplug gap of the new ones. It would take little time and would appease my OCD. Do new plugs ever come with incorrect gaps from the factory?
You do have to love how clean that motor has stayed over 160,000 miles. Plugs certainly last longer than they do in a turbocharged motor. That GearWrench Torque wrench is pretty cool too. Mine just do actual clicks. You're definitely living up to your channel name with the reference.
RAINMAN great movie
Props for trimming the clamp ends and the corners. Always love when people play attention to those small details for when someone else has to go in there for future work 😀
You have beautiful fingerprints
Let me say it a different way as an electrical engineer. Dielectric grease does all the things that grease does.(lubrication, repels water, etc.) Plus since it does not conduct electricity it assures it does not offer an unintended path for current. Grease on contacts makes them slid together but the contacts easily pushes the grease out of the way to make the electrical connection. So the grease only makes them slide easier. Grease can be a problem if the contacts normally generate lot's of heat because the grease can catch fire. The dielectric label gives you confidence you aren't going to short out your contacts.
OTOH, Non-dielectric grease is bad around electrical contacts because it offers a path to short out the current. Grease that is sometimes used in brakes is not dielectric because it has bits of copper in it. I think the copper has something to do with reducing brake squeal. I'm not sure how. But if you get that stuff near electrical parts you will have a bad time.
And finally if you drop dielectric grease on the floor that would be dielectric gravity. I didn't learn that in engineering school. I learned that from Rainman Ray.
Torque wrench designer is an idiot! When Torque is achieved it should go Doo dee doo dee doo!
I got it Raymond
I keep hearing that you're not supposed to move the butterfly with your fingers on an electronic throttle body because it will mess up the idle position and the computer will have to be reprogrammed, but I've seen you do it a few times. Is there any truth to this?
Yes and if you happen to pull over to fix your seatbelt you might get stopped for not stopping and being stopped at the stop sign that you were stopped at but off the road. Argue with a cop a bit and then get a citation for not having your seatbelt on.
Wow bro your my hero that Torque wrench rules rules I tells ya
I just got a cheap one a few months back but I don't use it a whole lot
I just hope it accurate enough for Bess
I like the chalk mark … identifying the oil capacity. Maybe just put that oil filter number while your at it
For 20 years on the same truck. I’ve never used dielectric lube or a torque wrench. I just wing it. I’m on my 3rd set at 275k. Is something going to break ?
Hey Ray, what time does Wapner come on?
Notice you are starting to use the Scotty Kilmer pop-up pictures. If you ever insert the laughing horse picture, I'm canceling my subscription 🙂 Thanks for the great video as always!
Hey Ray, Kmart sucks.
Your videos are always the best,i always recieve notifications whenever you upload a video,by the way thanks for recommending me to Waylon emmett the crypto expert,he has really change my life am grateful
Why did you not check the air filter!!..
Not gonna lie, I've legit never seen the movie Rain Man. There can be only one (Rain Man)!
No oil change, no air filter change?
This truck needed some attention at 161000 miles.
Love the Raymond reference!
"Excellent driver" from the movie "Rainman", said by Dustin Hoffman.
Huge gaps like that are also hard on the coils, and I'm surprised the engine never threw a misfire code.
I always chuckle every time I see your paycheck collector van on the jobsite. Everyone has some fun collection
Mine was lighters.
Raymond is an excellent driver Rain Man..
I also lose money at the paycheck collection van, which is a bit sad since I'm now retired. I have five toolboxes, and its important to keep the tools up to date don'tchaknow.
I just worked on a 2015 Tacoma. We did a ton of crap to it. Valve cover gasket, spark plugs, headlight connectors, (they were melted) windshield washer tank, new catalytic converter. Someone drove it into the ground with 299k miles already.
Also, the low idle condition (500 RPM) was an intermittent failure of the TPS even though it wasn’t throwing a code. Unfortunately it’s a sealed system to the ETC, so a new part is $750 effing doll hairs to and you have to replace the entire throttle body. Fuuuuuu—
A little anti seize on the plugs might be better.
Did I hear a rainman quote? Whaa??
Between beeping electronic wrenches and OBDII diagnostic scanners, they need you less and less everyday.
You “Sunday” driver you🤭😂🤭🤭🤭💯😉
Only thing more dangerous than not wearing a seat belt is hoppin on that snap on truck
EXCELLENT “driver” especially on Sunday…. 😉. I got it. Lol
ALRIGHT …. RAY got a new toy, like I recommended GEARWRENCH DIGITAL torque wrench !
Hi Ray. what is this lubricate that you put on the end of the spark plugs socket cover?
I was surprised, after seeing that dirty throttle body, that you didn't replace the air filter.
Okay, Ray is an awesome mechanic and great content, but picture this. Shut your eyes and imagine Betty White saying half of this. Way too many sexual and hilarious smiles and laughs. Prove me wrong. 🍺🍕😂
Kmart sucks!
I must admit I enjoy watching you videos and I do so like your style. Thanks!
This new beeping torque wrench….I can't handle that… So form now on we have safety clicks that are right, safety beepage that is wrong. But in the same video, beepage will be right when torquing. This way too inconsistent.
I wish there were more mechanics around like you.
I was shouting at the tv about those leaves, you must have heard me. I reckon they got their money's worth out of the old plugs. Good job, love your work. 👍👍😁
You need to get in touch with a tool manufacturer and work to come out with your own tool line starting with a wrench that yells click at the right pressure rating
Lol we call the snap on truck the rape van😁
“One minute till Wapner”
Cop went by on the u turn and no seat beat. Lol.
Touch plus 90 brotha kiss
I have a '99 Chevy Silveryado with a 5.3l V8 I have not changed the spark plugs, coil packs, or fuel injectors for at least 170,000 miles. I say at least because, I bought it with 330,000 and it now has 502,000. Don't know how long before I bought it the fuel/spark system was changed.
You have digital clicks now with your new torque wrench.
Ray knows his movies also!
Goo yob, mang!
Ah – Sunday Drives are such an Afternoon Delight. lol🤣
Calibrate calibrate dance to the music calibrate calibrate.
I got the Rainman reference the first time.
That digital shit has a really bad "click" satisfaction ratio…
Small interactions complete
screaming click
What is the model/brand of the digital torque wrench you used on the plugs?
Ha ha passing the snap on truck it was like squirrel squirrel squirrel squirrel
Your upbeat and laid back attitude when wrenching almost makes me want to tackle the head gaskets on my xterra. Well almost, Nissan's engines are ignorant to work on. Maybe a few more Ray and SMA videos will do the trick.
the paycheck collection truck lmfao! so true
Rainman. Can't believe no one has commented on the Dustin Hoffman reference….. (Raymond Babbitt) 'Maple syrup is supposed to be on the table before the pancakes.'
Measure that plug gap with a yard stick
Pounds/Feet for torqe. Foot pounds is for work. (Joules)
I learn alot from this young man, need him to do more Avalanche videos
Rainman reference cracked me up.
I think old Ray forgets stuff on purpose so all the reeee people have a fun time with it. Just my 2 cents from Ohio and you sir have a fine day. End of transmission
I find myself making "Ray" noises when I work on my car or when driving.
Love the new wrench with the virtual clicks!

Can leave ahellava bruise.
Stupid voice to text.
Breaking an original part and replacing it with an imagined "equivalent" wouldn't fly well with me as a customer.
In an accident the seat belt can a hellava bruise even laying flat against the body.
Twisted makes it narrower and concentrated the pressure on a smaller area in effect increasing pressure.
Its better to use wire spark plug gauge than those gradient type.
