bought my 95 Maxima in may of that year. still my daily driver. AC blows air down to 40F when 95F outside. never been serviced. aint broke so not fixin it.
I have a 97 Kia Pregio and couldn't get the AC to work. I was at the point of replacing the condensers (it has 2) and my nephew came up with a bright idea that worked. We installed an extra fan with a toggle switch just for the condensers. Now the condensers are happy and cool and the AC is cold which makes life in the Philippines much more pleasant.
Here in Minneasnowda 90% of the problems after roadrunner rockets to the front end is e vap coil drain tube plugged with leaves (composted) and bugs in the spring coming back from Florida Lol
Not a pro here but I bought a refrigerent 'sniffer' that found an otherwise invisible leak in the evaporater. Beeping like crazy at the air outlets and the condensate tube. Good videos. Thanks.
I live in Washington state. My brother is an auto mech in Wichita Falls TX, specializes in AC. I don't usually see him at July 4th gatherings. Much respect to you guys who do this in 90º plus weather. If I may be slightly off-color, I believe the term could be phrased as "Sweatin' like a whore in church."
I found out the other day that there's a tool that allows you to replace the Schrader valve on a live/charged system. Apparently it's $800+, so more just a novel idea than an actual useful tool.
You remind me so much of one of my former shop foremen. Sharp as a tack, goofy as a drunk giraffe, and a good guy through and through.
As a career HVAC/R professional, I can honestly tell you that if the charge has dissipated, then there is definitely a leak in the system. It could be very well in the Schroeder valves you replaced. One way to confirm that there is no leak is to pull the vacuum and once you reach full vacuum walk away and let it sit for 30 minutes or so. If the vacuum holds, then any leaks have been addressed. If the vacuum starts moving up from 29” mark, then there is either a leak or moisture in the system.
I like how you posted the pic of your write up, it would be awesome to read everytime you diagnose and write a car up the official version if you have editing time. Great videos.
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
I, like another person in this comment section, wonders how the ac condensation water is. May be a good thing to remember. Car Wizard has a good video about that.
I live in Florida and you couldn’t give me a black car, They look nice for like 10 minutes after a car wash and they’re 1,000,000,000°, Lighter color with tan interior… world of difference
I once seen a compresor that had it's body aluminium leaking from porosity. . 🤨 With compressed nitrogen, the top of the compressor would bubble wildly. .
I work in the HVAC trade and am wondering why you don't have nitrogen to pressure test the A/C system to leak check? A pressure test with nitrogen can determine if there is a leak and a trace gas(scrap refrigerant) can be charged into the system to help pin point it with a leak detector. The point I'm getting at is not knowing if there's a leak and then evacuating the system will only pull in air/moisture into the system which ruins the purpose of evacuation if there is a leak.
This summer by AC let go I went through it I couldn't figure it out took it in tried to find a relay in the system combined it took it in they found it they fixed it I was happy I appreciate all the guys that figure out the stuff that I can makes my life easier bye

Why didn't you check the evaporator??

Why don't you do a soapy water test with a full nitrogen charge to make sure?
I always confuse people when I say I'm going to boil the water at room temperature.
No sniffer

Definitely the evaporator
Brother you're one cool mechanic 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sorry I couldn't help myself

Should be using a seat cover anyway

Take the UV blacklight into the men's restroom and see what you find, might make an interesting video Ray
For a mechanic you are very knowledgeful about physics.
As always interesting video.

Gunna get picky on you, you replaced valve cores in the service ports. Sorry, retired hvac guy just HAD to correct you.
maybe no dye in refringent maybe a electronic leak detector in cabin air vents and sensor on receiver dryer as well as shaft on compressor seal
Being in FL, it’s a billion degrees your right, lol. And been abnormally humid this year

A Maxima with the Trump syndrome. (Blowing Hot Air)
Ray do you have a brother named Tom?
Cool job Ray
Fluorescing the drain water coming from the evaporator coil box is a reasonable check for that coil leaking.
Bag ‘em and tag ‘em

You repetition makes us better, or something like that.
Crazy dizzy awful shaky camera. Ridiculous!!! 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Sounds like part of the time you had his thumb over the microphone. But again a great video
Hang in there Ray! 😎👍👋

Good evening Ray
How dare YOU!!!
How many remember the ice cold systems from the 60s?
Wow, my 18 year old Matrix still has the original compressor and has never needed charging.
Trolls are everywhere.
is that your white ford f150 single cab in the parking lot?
edit: SUBBED
Didn't see the rad fan cut in 🤔
Quick question! What editing software do you use for your videos?
Stupid question time. How can you tell the high side valve from the low side valve?
