Customer Customer States Mechanic Fails Engine Transmission Gas Diesel off road race 4x4 street car daily driver scam dealership dealer technician how to

Hello everybody, Good day to you! Welcome back! Glad you guys are here! I Knew I am super glad to be here. Let's get outside of the fence line here and uh, fetch this 2007 I think it is Toyota Corolla LE I Believe it has the 1.8 liter four-cylinder an automatic transmission. It's here for some maintenance. Real light duty, nice easy stuff.

and after a week of engines and rear crankshaft seals I Like easy stuff. so let's get to it all right. Let's key this. Eco Unit on find out what's on our odometer.

it looks like 61 581 miles on the clock. Not too bad starting. Z Engine very good. I'm gonna have to move the seat back.

that's the technician cardinal sin. but I am lanky and tall and this car is not anyway. Let's uh, let's go ahead and swing this thing into the shop. We're gonna set it up on the rack, lift it up.

We'll give it a nice undercarriage inspection on, and then we'll proceed with the authorized. Services I Believe we're going to do the Royal Flush treatment on this particular vehicle. I Imagine that. uh, 60 000 miles.

We're not going to find any mechanical deficiencies on this particular unit. So uh, that's why we're focusing today on the maintenance schedule. Uh Caster Troy Will you move that thing? Thank you sir! I'm gonna keep calling him Castor Troy Till the name sticks, it's totally gonna stick. It works too.

It's fitting. I Wonder if I can fit this car on the big lift? here? We're finishing up on the the little lift. We've got an engine going back in. it's already in.

It's bolted together. That's the rear main seal job that we had to do twice. I mean I didn't do it twice I only did it once, but uh, it had to have been done twice because the first time was a failure. It wasn't us, it was somebody else.

they did it, not me. anyway. popping. Z Hoyt Let's jump out of here, power this unit down and uh, see what's going on.

All right, let's see what we've got going on down here. Looks like 1.8 liters of Toyota Eco Efficiency. All right, Okie doke. So our guy asked for the Royal Flush treatment, but let's first make a determination on whether or not we need it.

That's a solid yeah on that one. That shade and contamination level is expected at about the 60k mark, so we're good with that. Let's check the engineer filtration element and that is brand new. Okay, let's put that back.

Don't need one of those close that guy back up brake fluid. It looks okay, but it's probably got some moisture contamination and since we asked for it, that's what we're gonna get. Ah I'm gonna do a spill and fill on the engine oil, but we'll do that later and last. You guys don't like to see that.

Oh wow, look at that. This thing's squeaky clean in there. This car is very well taken care of I'm impressed. Blue Water Need a refill on the blue water power steering? I'm gonna go with a marginal but request and you shall receive.

We'll see what else is going on in here. Let's check our coolant can't see our coolant. is it hot? That's a negative. What do we have? Cool? It looks okay.
It could go for a replacement. Also might add that one on. Okay, let's uh. let's get the rack set real quick.

Hit the button. Run this thing up. We'll take a look at the undercarriage. Alrighty.

Toyota Moving on up. Green Subscribe button. There we go. It's green.

Casino's good. Move it up all the way up. All right. we're up in the air.

Let's go down below. take a peek at the nether regions down here. This thing's super clean. looks really nice.

A little bit of surface rust, but that's that's whatever. There's no actual rust here now. we can see this Trans has a has a drain plug on it and you can do drain and fills on these. But we're gonna do uh, the power flush with the BG machine.

That's the positive displacement fluid exchange procedure. We're gonna hook into the transmission uh with one of the cooler lines and the Machine will be hooked up to the cooler line on one side and then the discharge on the other side. We're going to start the engine. As the transmission pump pumps the fluid through, it's going to pump it into the machine.

The machine's going to store the old fluid, and simultaneously, it's going to pressure pump in new fluid, positively displacing. Uh, the amount of oil that's coming out and into the system later. Right now, we're just taking a peek down here and make sure we don't need to repair anything. and I don't think we do.

I See nothing bent, broken, leaking, falling off, rusted to nothing. A little bit of rust here. No big deal. Non-structural struts look good I See no fluid leaking out of those? This is all right.

Very nice. That's our Evap canister. Highly complicated mechanism. okey-dokes looking good so far.

Let's move back to the front here. Um, let's see. here's a couple of our trans lines: I think I'll tap into the system like right here that looks like a good spot. We pull the clamp off, pull the hose off, plug one hose in here, plug one one of the lines in right here, and then we can perform the procedure.

So Let Me: Go fetch the machine, roll it over here, fill it up with new fluid, we'll get started on the transverse, and then we'll move on to some of the other, uh, other items while the transmission is processing. So we're going to do multiple Services simultaneously, thus achieving maximum efficiency. right? Troy Right Right Right right right off the lock, coming down Toyota all the way down, all right back up top. Let us re-remove the transmission dipstick.

We'll set this thing aside and put it. We'll put it right there in the oil drain. There we go. We'll grab our funnel.

We need to clean that out. I Saw some solid particulate contaminant in there and we don't want that to, uh, infect our transmission. Get rid of that. Wipe it down.
Clean it out. It's the bird's eye view. Bet you guys didn't think you'd watch the cleaning out of the inside of a funnel today. Did you? Aha All right.

funnel. insert into transmission dipstick tube Now I See another piece of contaminant? Wipe that out. Very good. Let's install the transmission cleaning solution.

BG product. Throw that in there. There we go. Uh, we're gonna run this engine for a while so I can go ahead and close this up after I install some cleaner in there as well.

Yeah, today is. Mechanic In A Can day. How about that? Look at that. that's beautiful one-handed can opening.

My skills are becoming complete. Let's do a long range pouring things without spilling and oh yeah, got it! I Know I'm just showing off Now This is the Epr the engine Performance restoration. It's designed to remove any coking and carbon and sludge buildup that may be present. I Understand that's pretty clean, but there could be areas in here that are not pretty clean.

Plus it can't hurt, so why not? Okay, we are outside at the waste oil area. I've got a Pneumatic Airline a Pneumatic Airline that's funny. I've got an airline connected to the machine and what's happening now is it's pressurizing the internal tank with the bladder inside of it and that is pumping out all of the old fluid from my last service. See right here.

Yeah, that's the old nasty going into the drum. When this is done, we'll depressurize it and then I can install 16 quarts of the new fluid into the machine and we'll connect it up to the vehicle. And uh, begin the fluid exchange procedure. So let's uh, let's pop the top in this bag in a box.

right here. Seriously though it is, It's a bag of fluid in a box back in a box. Kind of like Franzia It's a bit different. let's see.

Yep. I believe this is done draining Let's uh, remove our Air Supply and depressurize the unit difference parkour, continue depressurizing. Come on looking good. let's open up our vent valves.

There you go, That's going to dump the rest of the pressure that we can open up the fill valve. it's this little funnel up here and then refill the machine. Put the new fluid. Once that thing is full, it'll stop going in.

It'll overflow through one of these vent valves right here. and at that point the machine is prepped and ready and can be attached up to the vehicle. And now we experience the first ever pouring things cam. There we go.

Let it ride. This should work out as long as I don't drop the camera into the putting the thing there. This might take a while. unfortunately.

I can pour faster than the machine can take it. Your new slowing my roll here. tell you what. I'll be back when I'm done with this you guys.

Uh, don't go anywhere. Stay right here. Is it done? Yep, Sure. Is It stopped going down so the tank down inside of the machine is at its full level.
So what we need to do? Go ahead and close this off, close the valve cap back on, close that vent valve and this vent valve. set that over to bypass, recharge and now the machine is ready to go onto the vehicle. And I've got about a half a quart left over in the Box Here you can save that for later. Rolling Rolling Rolling.

Keep the machines rolling. Roadblock Draw. Get rid of that there continuing rolling rolling past. Troy What you doing? Yeah, we'll stick this guy right out front over here.

That's good. You stay there for now. All right. I'm gonna toss this, uh, drain pan right under here under these trans lines because once I take these guys loose, it's going to want to drip some I'd rather not zip it on the floor.

Okay, so what I'm gonna do? We're just gonna reach down here with some needle nose pliers if I can get a hold of It and we're going to unclamp this clamp right here, we'll slide that down and get this line loose from the metal line and that's where we're going to be able to tap into the system. I Think see if I can't get that to break free? Nope. But I think I can get it with some angular, curvy needle noses that should get a hold of that line nicely and allow me to twist it. When I twist it, it'll break the surface adhesion between the line and the hose and then it should slide off.

should. Hmm, it's not working. Okay, we're back up now. Can I get that line off of there? What is this? Yeah, it's right here.

It's really easy just reach up and grab it. Silliness, but it doesn't want to come out. I Mean I Know this frustrates people how I can take the simplest task and make it remarkably difficult. It's like a superpower of mine.

Anyway, there's a trans line that's disconnected, so let's match the lines on the machine and hook this thing up and then we'll let the car back down. All right Adapter drawer. What do we have here? There's one. we'll need that one, and then we need a nail line and that one should be good.

Yeah, yeah, that's fine. Okay, so got a hose clamp on the hose. We'll attach this line to the metal part on that line, close clamp that in a minute, and then, uh. this unit can plug into this line right here and again.

We'll hose clamp it together. Okay, Got both lines from the machine. We're going to connect those to the quick disconnect fittings that I have installed on the vehicle side of the transmission lines. Plug these guys in one-handed.

Whoa. There's a forgot that thing was even in there. Holy smokes. almost killed me.

We need to let the engine run. Uh, for what? 10? 15? maybe 20 minutes. That way, the cleaner that's in the engine can circulate and the cleaner inside of the transmission can circulate. And that's when we're going to do the bonus because as that cleaner is going through, we're going to do a fluid removal and installation on the power steering again with another bit of cleaner.
Really cool stuff. Okay, quick, no spilling. Recap: We're on bypass recharge valve, closed valve, closed valve, closed caps on funnels here. We don't need the funnel for right now so we can just put that back over there.

Put the dipstick back in. there. we go. Okay, let us reach in and restarting the engine starting sequence now.

Okay, quick back to the machine. See, we have fluid flow. We should be coming up on a little bit of pressure anytime soon. We'll slow on the secondary side.

Good pressure's coming up and you have no leaks. This is good. Oh it's dark. look at that.

Knock the dust off. Yes, it's a lot darker through a sight glass than when you just put it on top of the battery. It looked. uh, it didn't look as bad as it does over here.

We'll let the cleaner do a thing, let that circulate again. There's cleaner in the engine. Let's go grab one more vacuum machine and we will suction out all this power steering fluid and then install, uh, replacement, new power steering fluid. Okay, ducks, some power steering fluid and some cleaner for the power steering system.

Also, it's going to be the squeakiest clean Corolla ever in existence ever. Okay, so I'm actually cheating and I'm going to use the Driveline machine to suction out all this fluid. All we got to do is turn the vacuum on, suction out the reservoir. see that going down.

Reservoir Block suction complete. Get all that out of there now. I Can install the power steering cleaning solution. pull it back up.

Now you can see we've got more cleaning solution than we do Reservoir Space right? So we went around inside, turn the steering wheel lock to lock a couple of times. It's all the way over all the way back over. What we're doing here is: we're moving fluid throughout the system. It's going through the steering gear, through the lines, through the pump.

everywhere. We're going to dilute the fluid with that cleaner, let it circulate. We're going to keep doing this for, uh, a couple minutes. Then we'll suction out that cleaner and then install the second round of cleaner and uh, and then repeat.

uh. after X amount of time has passed, we will conduct the exact same procedure using just the power steering fluid and not using any of the cleaner. Let's see. Okay, that's enough.

left and right. Let's uh, recover the reservoir again, refill it, refill it with, uh, some more cleaner, and then repeat. All right now. So we've got about a third of a can left in here.

There we go. pour that good stuff in. Same procedure. left and right, left and right.

left and right. Wrong way. It was the wrong right I needed to do the other right. Okay, that's probably enough of that.

You suck it out. You fill it up, We suck it out. We'll fill it up, so on, and so forth, etc. etc.
etc. Okay, Bottle Premium Power Steering fluid. You pull it into the reservoir. There we go.

Error, error, and judgment. Put that over there. Okay. Hold On Up I Still, there's not much to it, but it's a kind of a time consuming process here.

I'm gonna do the rest of this from super high speed, lightning fast motion and then we'll uh, we'll come back to the transmission machine when it's time to start the actual process. Okay, this thing's been running long enough. so I'm gonna go ahead and start the procedure To begin the exchange on the transmission side and that's real easy. All I got to do is turn the knob to process.

Purge All the work's already been done. The machine is now displacing the old fluid into the storage tank. This is actually two tanks in one tank. There's a bladder in there, so the new fluids on one side, the dirty fluids on the other side.

It is now accepting dirty fluid into the bladder and it is sending clean fluid out through the clean fluid tube and into the unit over here. So it, uh, as the rate at the rate that it pulls fluid out, it's also including fluid back in. Really cool. And while it's doing that, we can continue the power steering.

We're about halfway done with that quart of fluid. We'll do a few more turns here. get, uh, get the rest of this fluid circulated through, and then, uh, we can shut her down and drain the oil. That's the plan.

I've only got a couple more minutes before the machine is done. so I Want to make a little bit of haste? here? We get all this glue pulled out. It's raining. We'll do that back in there.

You're making a mess. Power down, fill it up, rinse, and repeat. I Didn't want to do that either. If you overfill that, the air can't escape.

Dude, you gotta go slowly. You know it's not quite like watching paint drive. or I think we're close. What do you guys think? This is a super boring video or somewhat interesting somewhere in the middle? Just keep turning, turning, turning.

Another suctioning event. Now you can see we've got about a half of, uh, half this bottle left. Okay, so what I'm gonna do. Spill it some more I'm gonna refill the rest this the rest of the way.

One more suction event on it and then this machine over here should be about done. Once that's done, I'm gonna I'll shut the vehicle down and I'm actually going to open up this line right here and suction out whatever's in that line if I can, just to be a little bit extra thorough. I don't have to do it that way. but it couldn't hurt because this is going to take actually quite a long time to do it.

Uh, just by turning the wheel and turning the wheel and turning the wheel. and I grow weary of this. So I'm just going to break into the system and then vacuum it all out a little bit more a little bit more. All right, we can see that the transmission is still going.
This fluid's starting to lighten up a little bit, but it won't be complete until we see a nice pure red up here in the top side. The second indicator that the machine is complete is we'll see a pressure differential drop between the new side and the used Side This side right here should drop in pressure this side, right here. Some spike and pressure just a little bit, but that's our indicator to let us know that the machine is now empty. Okay, let's vacuum this out the rest of the way.

Mostly, we'll lose that clamp right there and then tap into the system real quick. All right. Taking a peek over here at the at the mean we've got nice red fluid. We have a pressure differential 12 pounds on the use side.

Uh, zero pounds on the new side, so that tells us the machine is done exchanging at this point. Let's go ahead and reach in power the unit down here and now we can disconnect the transmission machine. I'm going to open up this line right here for the power steering, suction out whatever's left in there, refill it to maximum capacity. Then we can go ahead and drain the oil and then go from there.

I'm going to evacuate this one more time, Then we're going to pull that line, suction out the line, get as much of the fluid out as possible, and then we can lift this thing back up in the air, disconnect. Come on out of there. We'll disconnect the trans flush machine so we can spill that engine oil out there. we go.

Suctioning foreign. Yeah, we're done. Plug that guy back in machine powering down. Let's reclamp the clamp.

Get on there please. Very good. and one finalized refill of our Reservoir Good bar here. We'll put that on for now.

Get rid of a suction hose here. Roll this machine aside. Okay, let's go ahead back to our lift button. Raise this thing back up.

We'll get that thing disconnected. All right, back up in the air. Let us disconnect. The transmission exchange machine will stow away the cables.

One goes in. Get that one disconnected. We're leaking. Plug that guy back in right there.

Now that's nice and secure. until later. Roll that aside. we don't need you.

for now. let's get our oil drained under the pan here. to get that out of the way. We don't need that right there.

There you go over here in the parts washer and here what I'll do is we'll pull this plug and let this thing drain while. uh, while I disconnect those trans service lines. Oh that's tight. Wow, that was on there like a lot.

Oh hot there we go. Let that ride for a little while now. Just squeeze around over here and get these guys disconnected. We got one hose clamp here.

one of them right there. All right. Come on loose. Come out of there hose.

There we go. That's one. and this one. Let's unscrew this little guy right here.

Pull that other connector out. We're good to go here. I Bet that's cooking your noodle a little bit. Isn't it? There we go, Is it a ratchet or what? What's on there? Fine.
I'll do something with two hands. Oh yeah, that's that's very much on there. No worries. What was that? Duty Okay, sound like you're getting old.

Sound like you're you're not even 21 yet. Yeah, that sounded like you were throwing up some off hoes. Come off without tearing. There we go.

Okay, let me plug this guy back in real easy. Plug it in and that is all. Maybe put the clamp on it. Where are you clamps here? We go right about right there.

That's good. Beautiful. Okay, the engine oil is done draining. Show how big that drain plug out from the nether regions of this uh, of this drain pan.

Get that guy back on. We'll drop the filter next, throw a new one on, and then, uh. we'll let her down and check our fluid levels after an oil refill. Oh wrong way.

Ratcheting wrench. not going to tighten this to the Moon just halfway there. All right. Corolla Coming down again all the way down this time.

All right. Corolla is on the ground. At this point we can install some engine oil. It's gonna be five quarts of five winter.

Thirty We need to install some conditioner in the transmission, so I'll go back and fetch our funnel there. Put that thing back in. Get in there. please.

Thank you. All right, let me go fetch my uh, my fluids and whatnot. and then we shot the feet. Alrighty, Two more cans of product coming in.

One of them is transmission fluid conditioner that's going in the funnel into the top of the trans. Dump that one in and then the other is our MOA motor oil additive. I'll put that in first. Get that in there.

no spilling. All right. good, very good. Let's get rid of this and this All right.

Coming in again, got four quarts of five winter 30 BG fully synthesized engine oil I realized The Jug says it's Amazon 520, but that's not what it is I'm just reusing The Jug So I have no worries I don't remember if this is a four quart or a 5 quart engine, so we're just gonna dump in slightly less than four. Let me check it and go from there. I Could go look it up, but it'll take me less time to just put in less and then check than it would be to go and look it up and then put in what the computer says and then check again because I still have to check. So why introduce the extra step? I'm not going to do that because I'm oh that lazy oh you know what? real quick.

Hang on. let's check this real fast. Yeah, we're we're right here. right in the middle.

see that I'll show you guys something I can hold this upside down if I want because if I see where it started from before I turn it upside down then I know where the level is. It's okay to hold it upside down, it doesn't matter I mean unless your brain moves at the speed of sloth, then holding the stick upside down should not be a problem. So so there and you know who you are anyway. I'm gonna go fetch another half a quart.
Fill this thing up all the way. Now those of you have who have been around for a while have known that uh I have not been installing BG engine oil and that's just because I Well it's very expensive by the core or or by the gallon. but I bought a drum of 55 gallons of the oil and it's comparably priced to Amsoil So uh, it was available locally and since I was running low I just went ahead and ordered some BG stuff. Um I probably need to order another drum of like a synthetic blend because this stuff's kind of expensive.

It's like uh I know we'll see I don't know if I have a need for it yet. What do you guys think? Should I have synthetic blend here also? or should I just stick with full sin and that's what it is and you know I just got to charge extra money Like what do you guys think? Let me know. Comment section down below. All right.

I'm moving around to the cabin. you're getting engines. Yes, Okay, first things first. let's do a transmission fluid level check to make sure we are accurate and level okay.

We're right there in the middle just past the cold. Mark and the fluid is cold. Say that's good. Let's shut her down.

Check the oil, just wipe it off, stick it in, pull it out, and according to the light, maybe you guys can't see. It's right here at my fingernail. Maybe if I hold it vertically. There we go.

now. You can see. Got it all right now. Earlier when we were doing the power steering work, you'll notice that I uh, it spilled some fluid on it.

So I need to wash that off real quick. make a nice shiny. There was some splatter going on here. a little bit over here.

a little bit down there. a little bit on that fender. well this hose are down. Wipe it off, get rid of all the contaminants.

This car is very shiny. We'll keep that way. Food: Okay while we're here, let's get after a little bit of the Blue Water get this thing refilled. see if I can do this without spilling.

Yep. climbing altitude. Oh now we're spilling beautiful blue water is full I Love how these come with a dipstick like I Think that's fun. Very useless device.

All right. Well, you might think we're done, but wait, there's more because the astute amongst you may have noticed this little apparatus right here on the brake fluid master cylinder. That's right. We're also going to do a brake fluid exchange now.

I Wasn't really able to do that in conjunction with the other three services, but I'm good at my job, but not that good. So what we're gonna do? We're gonna run this up one more time. Pull the wheels off of it, and we're gonna run a a pressure brake fluid exchange procedure through this entire brake system. What we're going to do is using this machine over here.

We're going to fill up that Reservoir We're gonna pump pressurized fluid into the master cylinder. There's also a vacuum vacuum hose on this machine. here. We're going to pull all the wheels off and vacuum the fluid out through each individual wheel, caliper and or wheel cylinder while simultaneously pressuring pressure pumping in new fluid to the Masters.
So we've got suction on one side, pressure on another side, and again, we're going to displace all the fluid out with the oil and with the new. So let's lose our three hubcaps. We're missing one. The uh.

the right rear is absent. It's not here. It's checked out, fell off, it's gone. Pull that one off.

Okay. next. unconnected and we need a 21 millimeter. All right.

We return with loud noises. Impact gun, cam. Let's pull these uh lug nuts off of here. Vertigo anyone? Here we go.

Set those guys right. over there. Yeah, since my rigid gun is blown up I've been using this one, have not replaced the rigid gun yet. Reason being is I I have a Home Depot gift card but I don't keep it with me and so I can't go back to Home Depot until I use the gift card.

I've had it for like six months and I Feel bad? It's like a lost 50 bucks for a birthday. That's there. One more uno mas. Ah yeah, what do you guys think? Do you like Impact Gun Cam Gay? Nay.

Kind of like doing it. It's fun and unique. Okay, let's get all these wheels pulled off and then we'll start the fluid procedure. I think I'm also going to uh, come here Assistant: What? uh, gravity? since these are drum brakes I'm gonna go ahead and pull these drums off and I'll spray these out with some brake clean too.

So I'm sure they've got some dust built up in there while we're here. Let's take a peek at the friction material on the front. Looks pretty good. It's about eight, maybe nine, ten millimeters inboard pad is good as well.

Okay, there we go. Let's pull this guy off right here and there's some brake dust. Yeah, I could use a little bit of a spray. No worries.

check the other side. come here. Hammer We have hammer things to do. Got it? Come off? Wiggle wiggle Wiggle.

Yeah. same thing. A little bit of dust in there. Uh, no excessive wear on these shoes.

These are good. Okay, so we're gonna do the cleaning while. uh, this machine is doing the fluid exchanging. So I need to fill up the pressure vessel slash Reservoir We've got one quart of dot for PG branded brake fluid.

It's Ultra dry meaning contains no H2O Okay, that's cool. Cap back on. Now if you guys are operating these kinds of machines out in the wild. Uh, don't tighten this thing down to the moon or up to the moon.

Or make the torque tight as high as the moon. You get what I'm saying. just turn it until it kind of stops. It's sealed with an O-ring It's not sealed by cranking down on it.

It's just how it is. But folks like to just wrench these things in and make them stupid tight and it's not necessary. so please don't do that. your fellow technicians will appreciate greatly.
All right, the machine's connected to shop air. We've got some regulated pressure on the pressure fluid side. It's connected up here to the master cylinder with our little adapter unit. Valve is open so there's pressurized fluid going into this brake master cylinder reservoir.

That means the rest of the system is also pressurized. Let's go ahead and fire up the vacuum. That's kind of loud we're going to run through and we're going to open up each bleeder connecting the vacuum. hose to the bleeders, suctioning out all the old fluid.

We're going to start with the right rear, then move over here to the left rear. yeah, that looks good and then, uh, we'll move to the right front, then the left front and that will complete the fluid surface on the brake system. So here, let's pull our suction line right on over. We'll hang this thing up.

Pop the cat. There we go. Set that over there so it does not get lost. I Have Replacements A viewer graciously sent me a pack of Replacements which is really cool because I get these all the time.

Where they're they're missing. There's our fluid. stick our hose on there, open it up a little bit more for some good flow action. There we go, and we'll go fetch some cleaner to clean off these brakes right here.

What we'll do? Set that down there. so I don't contaminate my filthy floor. And since we're cleaning brakes, I might as well get some brake cleaner. Oh no.

Down. Whoa. Break clean gravity. Hold on.

Hold on! I Caught it down to two cans, three cans, two cans, and some red paint. This video is a lot of nonsense. Isn't it a lot of ramble? Actually, let's go ahead and clean this thing off. Spray it down.

Get all the loose dirt and dust and whatnot out of there. Looking into the bearing behind the shoes, in the threads of the adjuster. ah in the face. Money shot of brake.

Clean. There we go. and I'll hose out this. uh, this drum right here as well.

Is that a good spray? Dude. Okay, this thing can go back in position. Slide that guy right back over and on the studs. like.

so that's good. Let's check our fluid here. still coming out kind of yellow. We'll give it a little bit more time and in the meantime let's go over and clean out the other drum.

Watch out without contaminating our faces. We're pretty clean again. Get the threads, the adjusters behind the shoes in front of the shoes, in the shoes, around the shoes. everywhere.

there we go. Jump this out. hose are down running low. I Don't have enough? No, no, come on.

I Only got one can left. Crap. Nah. he didn't see that coming did he? Ah, gotcha.

Shiny, nice and shiny. Exceptionally shiny. Slide this guy back on and right there we are. aligned good.
Okay I Just checked the reservoir. The marks say that, uh, we have exchanged enough fluid. Let's go ahead and close this bleeder and get the hose disconnected. We'll crack it one more time just to purge out.

Yeah, look at that. See those bubbles. Put our cap back on. Moving on to the left rear.

crack it loose. but I think we've got flow. Let's check it. Sure do there.

It is. Okay, we've got flow. I'm gonna set you guys down for a minute and go put that, uh, that right rear wheel on. Okay, the machine says that this wheel should be about done.

Let's close our bleeder. no closed that way. it's closed. Check our fluid condition Purge the air.

It is super clear fluid. Good to go. Give that a click and now we can move off or move on. Move off.

head on to the right front. We'll get that one next. Moving around. Pull our little cap off.

Oh look, that one's also eight mil. I Lucked out. Sometimes these are like 10 mil up front and eight in the back. This one happens to be eight all the way around.

Good for me. Oh, we got flow. A lot of flow. There you go.

We'll leave that there. We'll be back in a minute. Stay Okay. returning to the right front.

Uh, it's been a few minutes. It's only been like nanoseconds for you guys. But that's a miracle of film editing isn't it? Yeah, some of you folks forget that a lot of this stuff is edited and when you go I didn't see you do this. You don't understand it.

That just didn't make the cut like the oil filter. For example: I didn't uh I did not film installing the engine oil filter on this car. That doesn't mean I didn't put one on it, just means that I didn't record it or or even or even I recorded it and then never never included it in the final Edition or Final Cut of the particular video because there's a there's a balance between Film Production in reality and uh, often. you'll find that pretty much every single thing.

Is Not What It Seems Now pretend I said that in the Morpheus voice the it is all around us even now. In This Very Room You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to church. when you pay your taxes, it is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to Blind you from the truth.

What truth that you are a slave Neo Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison for your mind. And then you know what I'm saying. All right, let's see how we're doing down here.

Close off our valve, pull the line, reopen the valve. there's our fluid. nice and clean. Beautiful.

Close that off that down. Let's get our cat back on you. Pressurize our system here. Air power off, pressure relief, begin, close our valve, disconnect there we go, and we have a complete, like 95 percent efficient fluid exchange.
Let's pull that guy off of there back in the drawer with you. And how's our fluid condition? Look at that. Beautiful. Love it.

Let's get the cat back on there. We have to rinse this off. There's a bit of spillage here. No worries.

Now we can get rid of all of our hoses, apparatuses, connections, things of that nature. Let's clean all this mess up. let's get the wheels back on and we can get this thing out of here. Go for a test drive, hose it off not in that exact order and then I would get this thing back to its owner.

So I just noticed that we appeared to be a fan of the zip tie mod right here and if we look a little bit closely we can see that the bolt is broken off in the radiator support. So I'm gonna try to to remedy this real quick. This is going to be a 3.99 repair. It's the least I could do see if we can't make this right because this this kind of bothers me.

That's uh, this is about as effective as not having anything on there attaching it. So let's do something nice and quick and easy. like watch this. We'll just relocate it right here and put a new bolt in it.

When you reach behind, make sure there's no wiring harness back there and there's not and uh I think I'll just run like a self-tapping screw through that and right about there, that should be plenty sufficient to, uh, secure this electronic containment module. What do you guys think? Is it gonna work? Self-tapping Hardware is the best for stuff like this. Watch this right on through. Good as new clinics.

Beautiful. Alrighty, the moment has come. let's hop in. fire this unit up, back it out, hose it down, and take it out on the road.

Make sure it shifts okay starting the engine, make sure it steers okay. We gotta put a new sticker in it too. Get rid of that we don't need you old sticker where that like a badge. There we go.

That's how it's done. All right. backing up the auto honks for safety. Brakes feel good so far pedal didn't go to the floor.

The concern is is always somehow someway air is introduced into the system and if it is as we know Air does not compress. So if we get air into a compressed hydraulic system then uh, the system will underperform because it's no longer compressing fluids or moving fluids, it's compressing air and uh, it's not okay. Get down and get rid of our debris and fingerprints and drips and whatnot. some dirts and everything else.

Pose down, make it shiny, remove all spills. Very good, nice clean automobile. Love it down here. Okay let's back her out.

Hit the row ad see how this thing rides. Safety clicks engaged. Wow I Hit the overdrive button again by accident. see that I Keep doing that on these cars I Keep hitting OD off I don't know why.

weird and we're off. Let's ride I think I'll just give it a quick trip over the bridge and around the block and then back again and that should be sufficient here. I'll wait I Thought about pulling up in front of that guy, but I'll wait. no worries.
Maybe I'll plug for this guy. Perfect. Hey, we got first gear, second gear, third gear. nice and smooth.

perfect. and fourth gear shift right now. Beautiful. Love it.

All right guys. Well so far so good. We did a full transmission fluid exchange, full brake fluid exchange. Uh, we did a power steering fluid exchange.

We did an engine oil exchange and uh I think I may do coolant on this I gotta call them back and see if we're gonna do that or not. Uh, I may save that one for tomorrow because it's becoming end of day and I'm ready to go home. So uh, that being said, as we progress through this test drive, I will use this opportunity to close out this video and I'll do that as always by thanking each and every one of you for watching this video. Hope you enjoyed this video, hope you found this dude! I Hope you found this video to be moderately entertaining and possibly even somewhat educational if you found it to be either one of those things.

please feel free to let me know about that by tapping that like button down below. Drop me a comment or two while you're down there. The machine i was used to using, i hated doing Toyotas. Line pressure remains low. The service takes longer with that. Look up a t tech machine. It may be visible online. The blends can help your dob. The prices i remember, 10 years ago, standard was 29.99. Blend was 39.99. Full synthetic was 49.99, if i remember correctly. There was a higher milage oil, but I don't remember the price.

REEEEeeeEEE Ray, air does compress, liquid does not. The reason that brakes get spongey when there is air in them is the air compressing and decompressing. You just said it back-asswards. is that the a/c compressor or fan kicking on and off? I think these maintenance videos are very helpful esp for us guys who are DIY and dont have the fancy machines but its great to know esp the power steering clean. I know you cant really tell the basement armchair commander nay-sayers to EFF off so I will! Since you dont do too many older vehicles Id say synthetic oil. However some older vehicles or engines might leak out faster with synthetic. I know my high mileage 5.4 Ford likes conventional oil. But Im going by what Im told by a pretty decent mechanic.

Most people don't know that the W stands for Winter in oil. Most think its for

It’s thanks to your videos that I got the confidence to replace my car cabin air filter, which was under the hood as when that system was first designed; the filter was shoved wherever it would fit as an afterthought. Of course I swapped out the engine air filter while I was in there, both needed doing and it makes sense to do both at the same time.

What I’m saying is that you do whatever the hell you want with these videos, the loyal viewers will get a better chance of looking after their vehicle better than without these videos.

As for the oil, get the good stuff. People are seeking you out to have things done right the first time, and cheaping out on engine oil kind of undermines that whole concept

I appreciate these kinds of videos, it educates me on what kind of processes should be going on with these kinds of services at quick lube places. One question, though….I was told by a transmission shop that if your vehicle was high mileage to not have the fluid exchange done with a machine, but a pan drop and reseal. Is this true, or was it just an attempt to gouge for money?
